Pinchy - not just animated, but also moving in a particularly irritating way (remember Breezeep's revenant avatar?). Omegalore - another example of annoying\repulsive movement, plus the revenant has a goofy face.

How do people seriously develop software for this? The entire OS is a monstrosity. If somebody with as much experience and broad skillset as I have can be completely defeated by this thing, then I don't understand how it works for anybody.
Originally tried to install steam-dev on Mint. Wouldn't take, complained manifest file sizes didn't match. So I trash that entire VM and install Ubuntu 14.04. After two days of confusing unhelpful error messages I figure out I'm supposed to do apt-get update and THEN try to install the chroot environment. OK that is supposedly working now.
So I bring in the code to my game. This is not an open source game. I must build this game in a way that the resulting binary is redistributable. How do I do that? I have no fucking idea. So I start just trying to compile the son of a goddamn bitch as step #1 because I need to make sure that's working at a basic level. CMake can't find libpng headers. Because something so simple doesn't come pre-installed on a kiddie candy piece of shit distro like Ubuntu.
So I apt-get install libpng-dev. And I end up with libpng12 from like, 8000 years ago. Great!!! That is FANTASTIC!!!!!! Because my PROGRAM needs libpng 1.6.12 and I have NO fucking idea how to build it, there are no DIRECTIONS anywhere on how to build it, and, after 2 hours of googling for any sort of advice I have found NOTHING. And everybody on IRC can just stare blankly at me like I'm a fucking idiot for not knowing what a deb is.
I am goddamn tired of this, it is all bullshit. What would be simple problems anywhere else, that in most cases should not exist to begin with, are impossible to do anything about without already knowing every possible arcane command line invocation for the entire operating system. There are NO inroads to this shit. You either already know it or you have to get somebody who does to do it for you. -

I don't get it. Let's say I have to guess a letter of the alphabet. I pick A. The chance that I'm correct is 1/26. Now it is revealed that the right letter is either A or B. Are you going to say that my chances are still only 1/26? That makes no sense I think.

I am diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (Which is apparently sometimes known as Mild Autism nowadays I think.) It's a probable reason why I act strange sometimes. If anyone have any questions about the condition, feel free to ask. Feel free to share your experiences or tips about it. I did write a longer post but got logged out of my account before managing to post it somehow and I'm to lazy to write it all down again. Sorry for that.

I'm not the happiest person in the world, sometimes I get kinda scary thoughts but so far I prefer trying to become happier by myself, slowly learning to appreciate life more, stuff like that. If you feel comfortable talking about this, please tell about your experiences with psychologists\antidepressants (did they help at all?) or why you're also avoiding them even though it is possible that you might need them.

I am aware that I am spending more time trying to figure out how to learn Japanese than actually practicing it. Although I do have some of the tools set such as my dictionary apps, Anki, YouTube, podcasts, RTK, Kodansha Kanji learner's dictionary, and some Japanese books and games, I keep looking for methods that will make me acquire the language faster. I can practice speaking to one of my Japanese relatives on the LINE app, yet, I do not always have the time do so. I do not just want to learn how to speak, read, and write Japanese, but I want to learn several more languages in my lifetime. In fact, I am learning French right now with Duolingo. How do I stop looking for great methods? I know that there is no best method or objective method. Everyone has their own preferences.

Can't agree with this one either. For me learning anything about Japanese language is nearly always enjoyable. Otherwise I wouldn't have made any progress because I'm an incredibly lazy person, trust me. Imo it's very fun. Kanji are incredibly beautiful in how they have meanings that work together when you combine them (so you can often guess the meaning of a word even if you see it for the first time in your life), various ways of saying something without mentioning stuff directly are very fascinating, different styles of speech that you choose depending on who you're talking to feel so unique and intriguing, etc... Imo it's all exciting and almost never boring.
Well, I guess I feel that way because, as you said, I managed to find a language and a culture I'm really interested in. I'm doing all this on my own will, I don't go to classes where they force me to do stuff. Just having fun because I want to.

Yeah, I think it would be difficult for a psychologist to earn my trust and make me feel comfortable. I probably would be like "who the heck is this overly friendly goof pretending that he cares about my emo problems?". How can I talk with some stranger about my deepest feelings? It's hard to imagine.

I registered on DWF March 27, 2004. That still sounds like yesterday. I am no longer a "noob" anymore.
I've never been on a forum for more than a decade besides DWF and ZDoom Forums - mostly because they are the only ones that haven't shut down due to the changing winds of the Internet.
And I still haven't published a map.
Yet.
So I decided to start a serious map after years of playing and seeing what works and what doesn't. Fighting with editors has always been a pain (I'm not on Windows) and the Linux ones aren't there yet. I'll figure something out.
So watch this space. Or something. -

My Little Pony has really really good characters imo. The stories are usually typical kids stuff with maybe a little bit of wit to them, but it's obviously the characters that steal the show. It's very easy to like them to the point of wanting to write fanfics and stuff. To me the adult fans aren't surprising at all.
It feels like all anti-MLP are living under a rock. Come on, in Japan grown men have been obsessing over magical girl cartoons since the 80's! Isn't it a bit late to act surprised now? Lol.

I was just watching one of the recent Tropes vs. Women in Video Games documentaries on YouTube (Women as Reward) and I was shocked at how many games assume that you are a heterosexual male and that you want titillation in your video games. In one of them, you advance in the game by browsing through copies of Playboy. All I can say is that I'm glad that my favourite game, Doom, doesn't have any of that (literal) wankery.
