You're too picky. Whoever made this did a great job given what they had to work with.

I found Hurt Me Plenty to be pretty enjoyable. Haven't tried UV or NM though.

Janitor vs. Zombies (Highly detailed horror map w/ classic Zombie gameplay)

You're welcome. Glad I could be of some service. I'm interested to see what you come up with. -
Janitor vs. Zombies (Highly detailed horror map w/ classic Zombie gameplay)
anomalousauthor replied to Jesric1029's topic in Doom 2016
Interesting level. Really annoying how it kicks you out to the menu when you die though as snap maps take a bit to load. I like the direction your going with here. Would've made the zombies a bit easier to kill in general or even mixed it up with some that take more damage than others. It's also really dark, which makes it nearly impossible to play while in a room with a window, during the daytime. -
Doom 2016 features the same protagonist from the original games, although the universe in 2016 appears to be an alternate one from the original. His suit looks human because it's either a heavily modified version of the suit from the original games or a suit made for him by the Night Sentinels that is based off of his original suit. Hell is a dimension outside of time and reality that connects to numerous alternate dimensions. He became a Night Sentinel by aiding them in their conflict with hell. He became their leader by being the most badass individual amongst them. He's human, and it's entirely possible the Night Sentinels are human too, although maybe not from Earth. I like the lore they created for 2016, it allows people to create the connections to the other games in the series how they like rather than having an interpretation that's set in stone. They approached it like mythology and I dig it.

I'm digging the over the top violence in Doom 2016.

So I take it the ending implied... (SPOILERS!)

What you seek is in the codex entries. And yes, earth is mentioned. Argent D'Nur is described in codex entries as well. -

And what would hell be in reality other than another dimension filled with hostile extra-dimensional beings? Even in a religious interpretation heaven and hell are nothing more than extra-dimensional realms filled with extra-dimensional beings. -
The whole company is structured like a cult. Lower tier advocates are fed lines about faith in science, and not just as a simple euphemism. As they progress onto higher tiers hell is revealed to them incrementally until finally they advise that if one encounters a titan they should sacrifice themselves to it gladly. The codex entries pretty much show that the entire company is a cult.

Agreed, I'd love to have a Old Blood style expansion detailing that.

I've never played it.

They already did. It's called Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth. Enjoy ;-)

How is the HUD? It's a Nightmare: A Visual Rant
anomalousauthor replied to Csonicgo's topic in Doom 2016
Probably a bad combo, lol. Too bad devs don't consider that everyone doesn't have the ideal setup in regards to distance from the TV when it comes to text size/scaling. -

anomalousauthor replied to Csonicgo's topic in Doom 2016
I remember this being a huge issue when the 360 came out, before I had an HD TV. Text was so small on crts that I had to sit directly in front of the TV to make it out. Haven't had that issue since I got glasses and an HD TV. Just out of curiosity but have you gotten your vision tested? I didn't know I had bad eye site until I was 19 and mine is pretty bad beyond about 4 feet, but I had no idea. -

anomalousauthor replied to Csonicgo's topic in Doom 2016
I sit about 11 feet from my TV and have no problem seeing it. I have a 55" LCD TV and glasses on, so that might have something to do with it. Can't see how having an option to scale the HUD would hurt though. -
Before they were basically JPL without some of the early occult stuff. Now, they are JPL with the early occult stuff and a healthy dose of Scientology craziness mixed in for flavor.

That would be great. The Old Blood was awesome, btw.

what are your thoughts on the Demons of DooM '16?
anomalousauthor replied to HellVain's topic in Doom 2016
Possessed Humans- I'd have preferred a more traditional take on them ala Doom & Doom II but they are fun enough to kill. Imps- Don't much care for the look of them but they're fun to fight. Pinkies- I like how they changed the Pinkies, they provide a whole different kind of challenge, especially when grouped with other demons. Revenants- They're definitely more mobile than in the originals, but I wouldn't say they're more deadly. Love the look of them though. Cacodemons- Love the update to these guys. They look less like Beholders from D&D now, so that's a good thing, and they fire alot faster now, another good thing. Hellknights- Tough and in your face. Fun enemy to unload the double barrel shotgun into. Mancubus- Nice update on the classic design. Barons- Nothing gets my BFG out faster than multiples of these guys. Overall, they did a good job. Would have loved the possessed soldiers to have a more human zombie look than that of a melted action figure, but they aren't bad. -
Things You Thought Would've Been Cool to See
anomalousauthor replied to Jaxxoon R's topic in Doom 2016
No worries, I should've just beaten the game in its entirety before coming on here. It's my own fault more than anything. But yeah, it would be cool to see a quick video of the process even if it was just on a screen in game. -
I'll pretend I didn't read that... I'd give it about two years before another is released as I assume this must be killing it in the sales department.

I think the game strikes a good balance between the old and the new. I don't think they should change anything drastically if and when they do a sequel. Been playing Doom since I was about 8, and I don't think they should demodernize it in the slightest. Doom and Doom 2 are great games for the time that they were made but advances have been made that shouldn't be ignored. The hud looks great, it plays similarly to the original games with it's fast paced running and gunning, and its aesthetics are killer. I think they should try and get away from some of the arena battles that are so numerous in the campaign and mix it up a little like you mention but it is highly enjoyable none the less. Everyone has the right to their own opinions of course so I respect yours, I just disagree on some things. Other things like classic deathmatch, more exploration, less lockdowns, more hell levels (or even better, Hell on Earth levels) I'm game for. Fun factoid: The first game I ever bought with my older brother was Doom 2 back when it was first released. Still have no idea how we convinced our mom that she should let us buy it, no idea.

Why does almost every one here hate consoles?
anomalousauthor replied to HellVain's topic in Doom 2016
I'd say that there must be some flaws in how they programmed the snapmap mode to work, because the single player campaign runs flawlessly on my xbox one and it has tons more enemies and much larger environments with lots of effects and more items than is possible in snapmaps. The culprit isn't the ability for xboxes and playstations to run the game, because they already run much more demanding stuff engine wise in the campaign. I'm sure that over time snapmaps will grow into a much more robust mode as long as people are actively playing it. If people stop then they will stop its development just as fast. -
They Messed Up the "Classic Doom" Levels

I need to look harder on my second playthrough as I haven't found a single one of these. -

Well said. Elitism over what type of system you play video games on is rather silly.
