  1. I just played part of the first episode (up until the armor piece "puzzle"). I'm impressed, can't believe this is all made in the Doom engine (well... not really, but still). My only complaint is, that the game is very voxel and lightning heavy, and gzdoom barely manages to lift it in open areas (closed corridors and rooms are fine). I will try to finish it tommorow. Great job.
  2. Hello, this looks quite amazing, but you should really release this in ZIP format or a better installer. Same as @Traysandor - my Windows 10 and Avast antivirus nuked the file to hell. Even lunching it with admin rights does not work on my side...
  3. Recently I started playing Doom again, and I tried to make a few maps. Saldy, I'm having serious troubles with SLADE (again!). 1. I added a custom texture and some music to the .wad file. After that, GZDoom refuses to open the .wad and shows the error message "No maps found". Nothing else has been changed. Removing the texture and/or music does not help. The .wad still works normally after launching in gzdoom. The ENDMAP marker ist still there, so I have no idea why gzdoom refuses to read it... 2. SLADE often corrupts my files - when I click the MAPINFO file to make some changes, and then the MAP01 file, the program "shuffles" the files, and renames them (MAP01 becomes MAPINFO, MAPINFO becomes MAP01) which results with an error - can someone tell me why is this happening? .wad file - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8ocjndf9EQXMnVFMTBGTlFXelE/view?usp=sharing

Problems with SLADE - Map not opening in GZDoom

Yeah, I just managed to fix the file too. I moved all other lumps below the END marker and GZDB finally opened it. Thanks!

Problems with SLADE - Map not opening in GZDoom

Crap... yeah, I had GZDB and SLADE opened at the same time. Ordering the files in the .wad does nothing, GZDB still refuses to open it... Is there any way to save a corrupted file?

Problems with SLADE - Map not opening in GZDoom

Sorry! Meant - GZDoomBuilder refuses to open the .wad [...] The .wad still works normally after launching in gzdoom. No, I always place the files below the markers. I added the new graphic for example below P_START. Sadly, my experience with SLADE and GZDoomBuilder isn't that great...

Yep, I used SLADE and everything got fixed. Thanks! EDIT: Alright, I guess this is my last question, and I'm all set: Editing MAPINFO I have set up an intermission screen for each level, but for some reason the game shows errors in all intermission lumps exept the first and last one (?). Also: after finishing MAP02 I get the intermission screen from MAP03. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the placement of "}" and "{". My MAPINFO looks like this:

Hello again, I was playing around with doom builder last weekend and I am close to finishing my short campaign (the maps just need 20x more details). I have encountered a new bug though... MAP04 (you need to cheat to get here) - Doomguy clips through most doors, switches and some walls, that are placed in the small underground base on the south of the map (for example: try running against the wall outside the base, or against the small "generators" in the destroyed room). Switches who act this way also don't work at all. I checked all linedefs and sectors, and I have no idea why this is happening. I also need to clean up the wad file in SLADE, it's over 10mb... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8ocjndf9EQXWFBKbHNoV25CckE/view?usp=sharing

@TheOrganGrinder *facepalm* Yep, It seems flipping linedefs solves all my problems, I had no idea there was an option like this. Thanks!

Hello, Doom 2016 sparked my love for the classic Doom anew, so I decided to make my own wad. I read and watched some tutorials and... basic stuff just doesn't seem to work sometimes. 1. Simple doors (or doors with keys) sometimes don't work, when I press the use button 2. Some switches aren't animated when used 3. Sides of doors move, even when "lower unplugged" is activated. 4. Simple doors can only be activated from one side, even when both linedefs are configured correctly I would be thankful, if someone with more experience would open my .wad and explain me what I'm doing wrong. Programs I used: GZDoom Builder (Maps), SLADE (editing map names and music). Port: Boom WAD link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8ocjndf9EQXMk04MHVCTlU5c1E/view (The WAD has 2 maps, the second one is unfinished)
