  1. I bought a bunch of red bananas a week or two ago. I ate most of them, but I ate one of the last two and the thing is either rotten or fermented. It tastes like alcohol, bananas and vanilla.

    I couldn't finish it.

    Maybe I'll give the other one to my friend.

      That's the funny thing that happens when fruit ferments. It's not the same as rotting. The starch (hard stuff) turns to sugar (soft stuff), and eventually the sugar ferments and smells/tastes like a chemical not unlike alcohol or some other common garage substance.

      Bananas tend to be best when they're completely yellow with a few brown dots.

      Maybe that's why bananas are my favorite fruit.

      I've never heard of this before so it sounds like total BS to me.
