    Cathedral

    First: Second: I played on UV and didn't have any issues with difficulty except for the chaingunners that pop up behind you and the archvile. The former is more cheap than difficult. Your use of the arch texture is pretty effective and I have to say for a first map it does look pretty good. Last thing, I would of prefered a different song for the map but I won't knock off points for having Running From Evil play.

    Try lowering the tekgreen that's above the window so it isn't cutoff. It would be a small change but would make the scene look better.

    Akeldama - First Beta Released!

    I played through on UV and found it fun, I like the "oh crap I need to move fast" moment you have at the beginning of the level. There are two issues I noticed. First is a Cacodemon that got stuck behind a computer and the second is the exit room. I was able to stay in the doorway and blast away the Cacos and Hell Knights using the Rocket Launcher with no danger to myself.

    I think the font of the first would work well with the second, just keep the same color and background to the hud.

    Putrefier

    Putrefier is one of those levels that focuses on looks at the cost of level flow. You will find yourself backtracking through the same few areas multiple times just to press a switch that will blend in with the walls around it. As for the combat I feel that is the levels biggest downside. Get used to mobs teleporting into rooms you just cleared because that sums up all the encounters. I would recommend this level if you are interested in creating industrial architecture for your own maps as detailing is Putrefier's only saving grace.

    OTEX texture set – UPDATE: Version 1.0 released!

    OTEX is amazing. Some of these textures fill the dark oppressing aesthetic Quake provides while also having enough variety to cover about every setting I can think of! I can't wait to use this in my upcoming level.

    You can create the MAPINFO lump within Slade itself by naming a new entry MAPINFO and click "View as Text" to edit it.

    According to the doomwiki both Casali brothers did work on commercial products outside of Doom. Milo would work on Global Operations a tactical fps while Dario would work for Valve and create levels for Half-Life, its expansions, and Team Fortress Classic. Dario Casali is also credited with making Crossfire, TFCs Dustbowl, and parts of Ravenholm.

    Return to Hadron

    Return to Hadron is an episode 1 replacement that provides equal bits of fun and challenge. Each level looks and plays good, the levels are open ended and have challenging encounters. My only complaint is E1M6 feels more like a gimmick than a regular map. Overall a high quality level I recommend if you're looking for a challenge just be prepared to die a few times.

    I have to pretty much agree with Pierrot. There are too many doors you can't open and quite a lack of monsters considering the size of the level. One thing I noticed in your level and something new mappers do is struggle with sense of scale. Often what will happen is people create rooms/hallways which are often much bigger than what the mapper is trying to do. Now the problems with this, besides making the level look like a rat maze, is that the player can simply ran around monsters due to all the room. To counter this problem I recommend comparing the height of the tallest monster you expect to be in a room and the overall room height. Overall you do show potential especially with some of your smaller details and I do recommend that you look at other peoples level to see what they did as inspiration for you own future levels.

    A slight update now that I'm satisfied on the room in the first picture. I decided to not worry too much about the level being too squarish as I feel that I can make each room interesting enough.

    Desecrated Station (Gzdoom Map) Out now! (V6)

    Just finished playing through on UV. Overall it was pretty good but a little too easy, like meapineapple mentioned there were a few surprise encounters that could of been a little more aggressive. Visuals were great but there were a couple instances where I could traverse terrain I probably shouldn't. For example there were a couple computer monitors in the wall I could walk into because the lines below weren't set to impassable.

    Perilous Cavern

    An amazing hellbase style level mixed with a bit of cave exploring, utilizes ZDoom effects to create a nice atmospheric environment to play in. I played on UV and found the difficulty to be fair while still presenting a challenge in a few spots. Overall it's pretty good but could of ended a little better as I am not a fan of arena endings.
