I'm talking out of my ass here but I'm guessing that the ephemeral nature of combat means the model would need an impossibly huge amount of training data in order to actually simulate it with any kind of accuracy. The fact that the model is able to predict the layouts of Doom levels this closely just by predicting the next frame is very impressive, and regardless of the ethical ramifications of AI, it seems Baaul is the only one here who actually understands what it is that they're even looking at. I'm guessing that to actually simulate combat properly you'd need to have two models running in tandem; one that memorizes levels and one that's only trained on demos of combat with everything else in the environment removed after the fact, and then when running them together you'd somehow need to figure out how to determine that combat is only allowed to occur within the bounds of the memorized level layouts? I'd wager that this little experiment could be used as an illustrative example of why self driving cars are a bad idea. -

The first few maps of NRFTL in my opinion represent some of the finest level design ever crafted for Doom and mappers of all stripes would do well to study them. -

Is an access violation error when trying to upload a wad due to user error, or is the port bugged? Also, if I'm uploading something for TNT or Plutonia, do I have to specify somewhere (UMAPINFO or elsewhere) that it's not for Doom 2 for the wad to load properly? -
