I always assumed that E1 of Quake was done by Romero. Turns out it as actually almost all Tim Willits. Don't get me wrong, the guy's still a compete tit but my view of him as a level designer has shifted dramatically.
Yeah, I'm not trying to insinuate that this redeems him in any way, just saying that his Quake maps were a leaps-and-bounds improvement over his Doom maps.
