  3. Am I petty for getting annoyed when someone walks into the computer lab I'm studying in and sits next to me in particular, despite the fact that I'm the only person there and the lab is gigantic?

    1. Memfis

      obviously they want you

  4. How the hell does Windows 10's boot loader magically corrupt itself?

      cutting edge technology, that's how!

  5. I've tried everything to fix my daily fatigue short of a decent sleep schedule and nothing has worked!

    1. Voltcom9

Well some of the ways that best cope with fatigue are limiting your consumption of caffeine and alcohol (if not avoiding them altogether)

and getting a decent sleep schedule. Other things that are just as important include, regular exercise and eating healthy meals regularly.

      Hope this helps.

I'm just making fun of myself but I appreciate the advice :)

Left side, make the horizon jagged, middle is fine, Right Side I'm having a hard time seeing exactly whats going on, But you could make a pillar that has an over hang that leads and connects to that back wall.

  11. For the past few days I've been experiencing physical anxiety symptoms even though I don't actually feel apprehensive. I've been losing sleep and feel like jumping out of my skin because I feel so weird.

  12. "That evening, Squealer explained privately to the other animals that Napoleon had never in reality been opposed to the windmill. On the contrary, it was he who had advocated it in the beginning, and the plan which Snowball had drawn on the floor of the incubator shed had actually been stolen from among Napoleon's papers. The windmill was, in fact, Napoleon's own creation.

Why, then, asked somebody, had he spoken so strongly against it? Here Squealer looked very sly. That, he said, was Comrade Napoleon's cunning. He had -seemed- to oppose the windmill, simply as a manoeuvre to get rid of Snowball, who was a dangerous character and a bad influence. Now that Snowball was out of the way, the plan could go forward without his interference.

This, said Squealer, was something called tactics. He repeated a number of times, "Tactics, comrades, tactics!" skipping round and whipping his tail with a merry laugh. The animals were not certain what the word meant, but Squealer spoke so persuasively, and the three dogs who happened to be with him growled so threateningly, that they accepted his explanation without further questions."

Dunno what's the point of just posting a random literary quote like that, but nvm i liked it

I believe a large amount are from Aquatex. With a few others thrown in.

Silly marnetmar, lids go on the bottom!

  16. Lesson 5: Do not populate as you go.

Lesson 6: Work on your map in actual, identifiable steps.

    1. Girl of Satan

      Girl of Satan

Nuh uh. Populate as you go, and test whether the layouts do what you think they will. Any other way is asking for trouble. (imo)

    2. Doomkid

It's probably a good idea to work in clearly defined steps but I've always just sorta slapped the keyboard a bunch til a map comes out. The results vary, sometimes they're really fun but sometimes there's shit design choices that would have probably been avoided if I had a better plan. Testing can get you around all that stuff though!

  19. At times I feel like life is a train I'm desperately holding onto the front of, and readjusting would result in falling off and being run over. I just don't feel like I'm in control at all.

Thing is, everything always ends up working out in the end. But that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.

  20. So I saw some motion out of the corner of my eye and looked down to see a giant black widow crawling on top of my thigh.

  21. I'm sorry, did you need this boat?

  22. Ugh. Mapping lessons for the future:

    1. Have a goal in mind

    2. Always sketch your maps out on paper before opening up the editor

    3. Always do a full blockout of the level layout before anything else

    4. Do lighting before texturing and detailing

    1. R1ck

I did all except for 4. it's kinda bothers me when I detailing in the dark haha.

PS I know I can hit B, but idk, "you do you" I guess :D

    2. rdwpa

Those tips are a good example of how ideal mapping processes are different for everyone -- or even different for the same person, depending on what sort of map they are making at the time.

The opposite of 2-4 can work or can even be necessary. (Imagine doing lighting before texture and detailing in a map with a decent amount of overlapping gradient stuff.) Even 1 in the right circumstances.

    3. 40oz

@rdwpa why would you draw your map on paper after making it?

  23. Why did I wait such a long time to get into Thin Lizzy, oh my gooood this is soooo goooooooood

Thin lizzy is a really good band.
