I ban the person above me because he is fanboying prominent doom community members in his posts to an unhealthy repeat.

What if there was a FreeDoom 64 or other FreeDoom equivalents of other Doom games?
Egyptian Guardian replied to whatup876's topic in Freedoom
I mean you can technically play the OG levels in BD 64 without actually owning the copy I think. So there's not really a point in doing that. -
What do you want id to do next after Eternal?
Egyptian Guardian replied to Captain Keen's topic in Doom Eternal
A remake of the original quake with Lovecraftian and Occult themes, just like how they gave Doom the Bethesda treatment, followed with several DLCs. Rinse and repeat with Hexen and Heretic. Also, one marketing strategy that I just realized could revive a gaming community is bringing back a Dev Team to release several mods and DLC's for the original Quake to be played on that KEX engine, or be compatible with source ports like Quakespasm and Darkplaces. This could encourage other indie devs and modders to release high quality content to be played with it like what happened with Arcane Dimensions. -

I remember some of my classmates playing that back in high school. I know exactly what your talking about. -

A little unrelated to the topic at hand, but I just want to say that gggmanlives may just be the most entertaining FPS critic I have ever watched. Used to binge his videos a lot when he had around 60k subs and ever since then, he's became better and better at making solid points while rating the games he reviews; he usually backs them with facts, and his dialogue is funny and entertaining. Although his edited meme references are kind of annoying and corny, but I guess he does it on purpose. He basically made me go back to playing old shooters. Here's a link I found. And this one. -
It's technically not an official expansion like Dissolution and Armagon are, but still considered canon and the final DLC for quake as it was released as a (Sometimes hard to find)physical along as being backed commercially by a dev team. Kind of like how gunman chronicles is related to half-life. It features a bunch of new weapons and enemies. It is mostly well received by the Quake community, and it's free. It is really difficult though. And the balancing between easy to normal to hard is a complete mess. I would imagine if your playing the most recent version(It's free) it should work with the kex engine.

Holy Shit!!! I had no idea that even existed. If I hadn't of bought my switch a year earlier I would had gotten this ASAP. Love Quake and it's expansions.

As long as it's not a remake of ghoul's forest.

Currently on my second playthrough of the mod Arcane Dimensions for Quake since they released 4 new levels in the latest update and I couldn't finish all of them because it was somewhat incompatible with the darkplaces engine XD. I won't play it with the official soundtrack though because that NIN composition is unnerving as hell.

If your expecting realistic cities that push the GZDOOM engine to it's limits, your going to be very disappointed.

What would be Doom's equivalent to Arcane Dimensions?
Egyptian Guardian replied to whatup876's topic in Doom General
tbh if your playing Reelism 2 with every custom content add-on made for it since it's release, it could compare to AD due to it's addictive gameplay and massive content you can unlock to use in it's maps to prevent repetition. Just wish there was a little bit more added in the game, because without the add-ons I got bored fast. -

Ultimate Torment and Torture in regards to custom monsters, enemies, and fantastic blockbuster-esque level design. -
Heartland - final version available on idgames
Egyptian Guardian replied to skillsaw's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Does anyone know how to access the secret map without using commands? -
Maybe I'm being a little too nitpicky just because I'm nowhere near as good as veteran players on here, but the style of design I aforementioned has always rubbed me the wrong way every time I played co-op on zdaemon back in High School (2015-2017). I can appreciate it for what the devs were trying to accomplish, but unless I'm playing on the lowest difficulty I find it way too easy to die. I prefer skillsaw's wads a lot more if I want a challenge. His traps and enemy placement is a lot more forgiving and plus the level design is top-notch. Even when it's challenging there's generally an easy to moderate strategy to combat a tough encounter. I get that a lot of people get tired of the difficulty they face in vanilla doom as being "too easy", as it is for me as well, but I notice how mappers combat this is having these extremely crampt traps and fitting as much enemies as possible without breaking the gameplay, and by pairing it with perfectly fine mapping and great visuals it comes off as almost pretentious in a sense. Which is a real shame. Speaking of green maps that look amazing, I only played the first 2 maps of DV 2 and plan on finishing it because those visuals are great, but I heard it's really really hard

Oh really? Well what do you call 3:13-4:43 then? Putting you in a tiny room with barely any space to outmaneuver 2 highly deadly monster closets is the epitome of annoying. For anyone who isn't seasoned with old FPS, this is the of playing a Super Meat Boy level. If you watch that timestamp I provided in the fight he literally admitted to holding down the plasma rifle pretty much the entire time. And it isn't just those 2 maps in Sunlust, Map 28 Maelstorm is also no slouch at providing you the cheapest unbalanced traps(Most notably the Archviles on the pillars in a cramp corridor while a plethora of Barons spawn right behind you making the space of not getting hit almost nonexistent) and imp spam that encases you and chips your health away in seconds. And Map 25 is the definition of slaughter and annoying. It seems like you people only are giving the latter levels a pass because of how good it looks. Just look at the gameplay videos and explain how that is good gameplay with being overwhelmed with these crampt monster closets that are made to piss a normal gamer the f$#k off? I mean just look at the Cacocloud it spawns at you in the 4th fight? How is that fun? It's too easy to die in that.

I'm at map 20 after that long ass map before it in Eviternity and I'm already starting to get bored.

The video where he said it was HR2 when he was playing on UV which I think is the most overrated wads in this forum. And what if the secret is so obscure that most people in the target demographic its tailored to who played couldn't even find it to pass the level?
