    I don't think you understanding what I'm getting at. Saying you won't play their games is not the same as not buying their products. If you don't own a game, buying them would give them money, ie, supporting Blizzard. If you own a game, not playing a game that you already own changes nothing. Which has nothing at all to do with what I was saying. I think we're in agreement in the sentiment here, but you're missing the distinction I'm trying to make.

    Right, while their newer titles have in-app purchases but their older ones (their library bulk) do not. Like out of their games that I own: SC1, SC:WoL, SC:HotS, Diablo 1/2 +XP, and WC1/2/3 +XP; me playing those games or not won't affect Blizzard.

    I can only presume you mean "buying" instead of "playing"--as not playing games one already owns won't change anything.

    Hmm, I'm planning on making maps for Doom2, using the GZDoom engine. I was originally going to make single player maps, but quickly decided to change gears and go DM. Here's map01

    Doom In Build Engine

    I like the Build and the Build2 engine looks pretty cool; feature wise I'm not sure why Build/Build2 doesn't get more love and attention honestly. But these days you could probably get just as much out of GZDoom. I'd like to see more original games using the Build/Build2/GZDoom engines. There's already Ion Fury (using Build/Eduke32 I believe) and Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (using Quake/DarkPlaces). Retro-FPS games coming on in quantity (with quality) would be awesome! Dusk really kicked off that trend IMO (using Unity). Again, GZDoom is a good choice. I just learned that the BUILD2 engine has been open sourced. http://advsys.net/ken/buildsrc/build2.htm

    What makes Doom 3 so different from the rest?

    IIRC they slowed the player down in Quake et al down because the map sizes each had to be under 1.4 MB. I think that carried over to all of the 3D games (Quake series, Doom3, etc) primarily because performance limitations. But for me, it had the effect of being "more realistic". I mean, I love Doom/Doom2, but the player moves like at Flash speeds when compared the world's scale. I don't particularly like realism in FPS because I'm all about having an arcade-like good time (no reloading, no pain effects, instant healing, etc), but to me, it "fit" with Doom3's atmosphere: darker, more realistic environments, pain effects, weapon bounce, reloading, slower speeds, etc.

    Doom Annihilation was lame. What a disappointing movie. :/

    I don't see it here in DoomWorld, but it is out there. People are becoming more polarized, online and IRL, spreading it to every aspect of life. I have my own thoughts about cause and cures but needless to say, I'm glad to see the movie's getting some appreciation just for the fact that they sincerely tried. Doom3 was the best game to date to make a movie off of, but I think a movie based on the events leading UP to Doom2016 could work just as well, perhaps better, ending with the immortal Doom Slayer starting his rampage.

    Changing player variables with GZDoom

    How can script GZDoom so that the player walks and runs slower? Also how do I disable weapon bobbing and put these settings into a PK3? Are these both DECORATE functions? Or is it better to use Zscripting? Anyone have an example? Thanks,

    What makes a level fun?

    I like maps that have variety in texture use, not totally dark, being able to see and move around, and a variety in height and monsters. I like monster in-fighting and I like areas that are crazy busy with a few periods where you can rest and revitalize. My favorite commercial maps were E1M6, E1M7, E1M9, E4M2, MAP02, MAP03, MAP04, and MAP29.

    Do you prefer Doom 1 or Doom 2?

    I prefer Doom2 over the rest, but only for the weapons and monsters. I actually prefer the levels/atmosphere of Doom1 over Doom2. For me : Doom 2 > Doom 2016 / Doom 1 (tied) > Doom 64 > > > Doom 3 My favorite custom mix of Doom is MetaDoom + Doom 2's engine + Doom 1's levels (converted for use in Doom 2). Though the Doom3 and Doom 2016 rips feel out of place.

    Snap Map for Doom II ?

    I understand that, I'm saying I think it would be a fun tool to mess around with, if it existed (and was wondering if anyone had attempted to make one as I see nothing when searching online). I would enjoy making a ton of prefabs of small and large rooms, both simple and complex.

    Snap Map for Doom II ?

    Well the way Doom 2016 made browsing through prefabs easy and quick. The only reason why I quit making snap maps in Doom 2016 is because bot support for non-DM modes blows (it would be nice if they added CTF bot support). I have yet to find many map generation tools for Doom2--especially any that allow you to add your own prefabs to it (though I have only done cursory searches).
