    2/5 Continous play. This mapset is shotgun spamming for 45 minutes except when you are fighting the bosses or when you run out of shotgun shells. 95% of this mapset consists of orthogonal walls, and annoying blinking lights which is pain for the eye, the latter especially applies to E1M7 with that maze. Thank god the maps are short, you can complete them in 2-5 minutes. Don't bother searching secrets until E1M6 because there are none. After that there are 4, but they're not really worth it. In E1M6, you can go the outside area where the imps tried to shoot you by pressing a switch, which is hidden the same way as in Nuclear Plant. You can find a shotgun, a rocket launcher and a soulsphere. In E1M7 you can find a visor in the maze (if you manage to find it in the darkness), but you probably already killed every demon before you find it, making it useless. The secret in E1M8 is even more pointless, you can access the area where the imps shooted at you by opening the wall next to the blue switch, but there are nothing other than their dead bodies. The BFG in E1M7. I thought it was a secret, but that's just decoration, because if you try to pick up casually, it takes back you to the spawn, but if you try the same thing on the other 3 sides, it's a bullshit suicide trap. I won't continue this "review", because Spawn already said everything, and he or she did a better job than me.

    According to your earlier post, you wanted to run sigil.wad in PrBoom+. PrBoom+ doesn't support MAPINFO and Episode 4+. Use sigil_compat.wad instead, which replaces Episode 3.

    My guess is because Quake 2 is a slower paced game than Quake 1, and the people here like fast-paced games. (Using quotes on mobile is a nightmare, so I using "s instead) "Quake 3 is good" Sure, playing on servers/with friends sounds fun, but if we exclude these, then all you've got is just fighting against bots, no real single player. The same applies to Unreal Tournament, but UT had more content (a lof of maps, gamemodes, etc.). You're saying that because you don't like the sci-fi (I don't really know how Quake 2's style called) or the enemies' design or what? Agreed on the mod part. So I am not sure if this has anything to do with the above statements." In short, no storyline = good game and if game has storyline = bad game? I'd like to argue with that, but my English is not the best. "Quake 2 is much less interesting to look at than Quake 1 and has an overrated, monotonous soundtrack." Grey vs. brown, none of them looks interesting (Okay, I know Quake 1 uses colors other than brown, but that was the most memorable part, which is sad). This is really my personal opinion, but I prefer the Quake 2 soundtrack instead of Quake 1's, at least the NIN part, I usually don't have problem with ambient music, but this is just boring, and I feel I could like fall asleep at any moment.

    What I think about people who chosen Doom 2 and didn't wrote a reason: just because it has the super shotgun and "new" monsters Plutonia/E1 > E4 > E2 > D2 > E3 > TNT

  11. Yes. The dehacked file changes the par times, level names... texts, but not the monsters behaviour or hit points.
