  1. I have a variety of different stuff that I listen to while I play Doom. While I really enjoy the classic sounds of Doom.. there are some things that just fit perfectly with a certain mod or mapset. Show me some cool stuff and tell me what you wad/ mod combinations you play with your music selection. (screenshots would be awesome too)

    To anyone reading this topic, I will let everyone know wether I was involved or not before. I am no longer affiliated with this project or it's contributors in any way. I withdrew my resources and maps from this project months ago. In case anyone was previously confused about me being a part of this. I am not. And haven't been for more than 6 months. Therefore. My work is not a part of this was project, in any way.

    For anyone reading this topic now. I am not affiliated with this project for months now. I have withdrew my maps and my resources from the project. Please do not affiliate me with this.
  4. Chillax is a popular online sever PWAD that has had some controversy, it's fun but plagiarized and what not. It was also a meme of sorts within the Doom community. I enjoy the maps even though the original mappers have not been credited correctly. That being said, my team and I have decided to make a sequel to the map pack with all original maps that aren't plagiarized. We enjoy the wad so much and want more and hopefully some of you will as well. We currently have 6 mappers: 5 of which are in UACDS, one is a guest mapper. We plan on making another ridiculous map pack of slaughter map fun. Release date will be a little far in the future since this is still in the beginning stages... Though we are all working hard and can't wait to release the super wad so all of you can enjoy it. Once it is finished we will host it for a while in your local UACDS server. We are using UDMF with some custom textures/ sprites and such from realm 667. We are modeling the maps around EWEPS mod, though we are including ammunition in case anyone wants to play it vanilla or with another mod. Will keep updating.     I have been working on some synthwave looking maps for a while. They are leading to the solo megawad project for the final release. I wanted to share some of my screenshots and videos of it. I have been having a lot of support for this and have been receiving a lot of hype for this even though I have only a few finished maps. I really appreciate this! I am working as fast as I can on these because I ,too, want to release them for your enjoyment. A lot of the concepts for these maps come from dreams and feelings. I am making maps based off of different music tracks. The maps will be hauntingly beautiful with some blade runner, deus ex and 80s aesthetics. Most of the textures for this megawad are completely custom. These maps will fit perfectly with the awesome sounds of Perturbator, who has given me permission to use his music as a soundtrack. Synthdoom will feature work from Sergeant_Mark_IV, Bloodhaeven, and The Zombie (Dr. Murdercock). Music from Miskatonic_Shogoth. It will be a mapset made for Brutal Doom, there will be a Brutal Doom add-on with the official release. Here is the most recent update for this map set. I will keep you all updated on its progress and what not.     What do you listen to when you're playing Doom?

    I have two different playlists depending on what I am playing. I usually listen to dark synth when I am mapping and playing brutal doom BUT every once in a while I will blast some death and black metal. They don't call me "black metal" chainsaw for nothing lol.

  12. TSPG is making a new project called The Sentinels Lexicon. This project is awesome. You can pop into the game and choose from a selection of megawads (including some slaughtermaps) and just play all night. It is great for multiplayer and we are currently testing this and they are working on this as we speak.

      I'm into synthwave, and I really want you to succeed. The "Miami future-retro-hippie spa resort" look is delightful. Even if you populate that with random imps and HKs as the cliché "takeover staff", that can be worked with and incrementaly improved into something really charming. Good job, keep it up!


      However, the first screenshot of this post is ugly. Like, I'm bad at colours, but that brown/blue combo rubs me the wrong way. Even in the neon world of synthwave, those browns look too garish and the blue shine is too much for suspension of disbelief. I would tone the saturation waaaay down.


      Also I've seen this video and while I understand you were focused on some of the pretty zdoom tricks, it looks absolutely dire to play. It screams "I'm synthwave!" at you right at the beginning, and then you fight spectres in narrow tunnels. There should be more to seel the premise! I was thinking how cooler it'd be if the map started dark and traditionally drab... but as you explore the sewers, it turns more and more pink, plus there are those little reverted crosses and they light up as you find them. And @rdwpa had the idea that the map would start as an empty/scarcely populate atmospheric piece where it's teasing and little but not hard shocks & spooks... only until the final boss, maybe a deh vile or whatever, gets unleashed and chases you around the sewer tunnels.


      Of course you can always release your project as is, no one to stop you there.

      @dew I really appreciate your feedback. The map in the first screenshot was made a year ago (it is outdated) and I actually agree with you about the color scheme. I have actually fixed this color to have more contrast as it takes place on the surface of mars. It is actually themed, which that theme will be released later.

      A lot of the maps will be really dark. It is meant to be hauntingly beautiful and the maps are made around Perturbator songs. There are also new additions to the team and a gameplay mod is now in progress as well as the map set.

      Its a bit too symmetrical? Hopefully there will be some good gameplay in that room in spite of its relative small size and aforementioned symmetry. Plus those textures and that theme is totally radical :)
