  1. TFZ1 update:

So I've been working a lot on RTC-3057 lately. Actually, the only _true_ break I've had from it was sunday to wednesday where I was at a friend's house, having a LAN "party". I thought I'd leave 3057 alone for a while, but here I am again, editing away. All this work is (luckily) paying off as the only thing that stands between now and the hub release is map02. All the other (4) maps are either done or "practically" done. The map released in the demo was in fact map04 even though it _IS_ the start map. map05 is quite a bit bigger than map04 and map01, map03 are pretty small maps. Map02 will be much bigger than any of the other maps and this is why the hub release might still be a bit distant. There is another problem, though. Wadauthor has a golden limit at 30.000 something sides, this could result in map splitting, which would result in a 6~8 map hub. I wish the wadauthor guy would release the updates.

QuakeCon starts today. I'm really excited about the Doom3 MP event. This is the first time we'll get actual gameplay reports. Sure, we've all seen or played the alpha, but this is the real thing. I expect people to be pleased with the game. I doubt id software would let them play the MP demo if it "sucked". I hope Activision will release a couple of screenshots to go with the event.

DeepSea doesn't have the 32,768-max data limit. ZDoom is also a port (the only port AFAIK) which doesn't have the data limit either. It would be good if you utilized this non-limit for map02. You could do what I did back when I had to work with WadEd's 3,870-sidedef limit: design multiple sections, pass them to somebody with DeepSea (i.e. me) and have them pasted together.
