Just found out there existed unofficial Hungarian doom books and their covers are pretty awesome (his gun even says IDKFA). But I feel like the marketing guys over at EA may have drawn some inspiration. Though probably not...

Revenant Bus - A Doom 2 Simulation Map
Resigned_34 replied to Revenant100's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Finally, the Train Simulator replacement I needed. -
That's why I have little interest in a game like Call of Duty or Destiny. They are built to hold the player's attention, spending money on dlc/micro-transactions, until the next year when they release the next game, and the cycle continues.

Sooo... Nostalgia Critic's "review" of the Doom movie.
Resigned_34 replied to BChricton78's topic in Everything Else
I play the original using the Doom 3 Redux mod. The shotgun sounds more powerful. -
How do you plan on actually work on the recording part of this project? Last time I checked, id Tech 6 isn't very flexible when it come to the video making side of things.

Sooo... Nostalgia Critic's "review" of the Doom movie.
Resigned_34 replied to BChricton78's topic in Everything Else
A few months back I watch his AVP review for the first time after not viewing his videos for almost a year... by the end of it i realized why I unsubed from his channel. -
The doom slayer could lose some mystique if they were to cover his past more in depth, even if it were positively received.

Are Id reluctant to (re)introduce certain enemy types?
Resigned_34 replied to DooM_RO's topic in Doom Eternal
If a hitscan enemy were to be reintroduced, they would have to be dumbed down for the sake of balance. In the classic games, all the hitscan type enemies had very little health and often times had trouble tracking the player (especially the Zombieman). With the new games' emphasis on the glory kill system, and the enemies have a fair amount of health in general, the two systems would be incompatible with each other without a lot of compromises. -
Is it possible for a mod to get banned only because of violent content?
Resigned_34 replied to hardcore_gamer's topic in WAD Discussion
If the mod contains shit that isn't "real" (like images of actual murder) then it should be perfectly fine. The problem is really how one would pull off such an idea within a doom mod without it coming off as very "edgy". -
a new doom.wad? thoughts on sandbox and community

I thought this was a bad attempt at slam poetry at first... -
Not sure if this counts, but from Doom 2 RPG:

I put an unreasonable amount of time into Rage; probably more than what it deserved. The shooting was fun, but the car-combat was pretty mediocre. I'll be interested in seeing what they could do with it.

Huh, didn't even realize...

What is your favorite Heavy Metal Band?
Resigned_34 replied to InfamousGreed's topic in Everything Else
Sodom Razor Venom and Black Sabbath of course. I prefer Priest over Maiden honestly -
Which oldschool FPS you haven't played or finished and why?
Resigned_34 replied to Optimus's topic in Everything Else
That lift puzzle in M1 certainly didn't help things much for me. I still need to finish Hexen, played it for an hour and two but got distracted. -
This survey does seem to be made from the perspective that all Doom games are confined to cramped, indoor areas like Doom 3 rather than Classic Doom (or even Doom 2016 for that matter).

This idea reminds me of that Warhammer 40k short film that came out in the 90's, though what you have in mind would be more akin to that cinematic trailer than something a bunch a dudes filmed in a warehouse on a VHS camera (not to say that's bad).

Is Doom 64's new weapon explicitly called the Unmaker?
Resigned_34 replied to SiFi270's topic in Doom General
It may be a situation like the pinky demon. It's referred to in the official material as just the "demon", and as people started using the nickname it quickly took over the original name. -
I just found out that Maximum Doom was a thing, and that it had SOOOOOOO many PWADs.
-
There was a similar moment in base Doom 3 where you had to escort a scientist through a pitch-black chamber. The scientist would hold a lantern to light the room and you had to kill the demons as they appeared. For BFG, they didn't even adapt the level for the new flashlight mechanics, making the whole sequence unnecessary.

Damn... 2018 already?
-
Feel free to prove me wrong, but from what little 'research' I've done, all the images of the cover I've found still have the creases and a lot of those are low res.

Berserk, the '97 version.

20% Doom, 80% everything else. -
DTWID has quite a few maps that do this. I do think it's a bit frustrating when you have both 100% health and armor and step in some slime for too long. It's probably an OCD thing.
