  3. Thank you everyone for your feedback! Slaughter factory is a map that I created in slightly more than a week (not including combat adjustments based on the feedback from the testers) that is a love letter to Fink´s Slaughter Factory from Borderlands 2 and my first (serious) attempt at slaughter. This is far from my first Boom map. My first one was from 2013 and most of my Boom work has gone into The Ultimate Doom 2 project (still on progress) and a couple of guest maps here and there since then :P

    E2M1 - Deimos Anomaly Remake

    Current version of Sigma-X map 5 uses the same layout from E3M1 and has all the original elements but it has been modified to such degree that I wouldn´t call it a remake. We will see in the future, right now, there is another E2 remake in the oven. It´s highly unlikely that we will ever get TSoZD unfortunately so I decided to give the first map a go just to see what happens (and also because there aren´t too many E2 remakes). And don´t worry about Prodeus, I already have it, I just haven´t toyed with the editor yet.

    Another remake emerges... Right after finishing my E1M5 remake I decided that it would be an interesting idea to do another remake... but this time of a map from episode 2, the shores of hell! So the premise it´s the same as the other remakes I made, modernizing the looks of the original map while trying to improve the gameplay. And the result was this map, an UDMF map that makes use of advanced features like dynamic lights, portals and ambient sounds accompanied by a fantastic track created by our talented musician @Jimmy, so make sure to turn the volume up to get the best experience possible! Shout-out to the testing team ( @Bridgeburner56, @Major Arlene, @Remmirath, @CyanoBlugron, @Jimmy, @Dragonfly and @Tristan), this map wouldn´t be the same without your feedback! Time for some screenshots! Frequently asked questions: What IWAD should I use to play the map? This map will replace E2M1 so The Ultimate Doom IWAD is the way to go. The map is also configured to select it automatically for you. Will this be mod compatible? This is just a map with some minor sfx, new textures and music so it should be compatible with all mods as long as they don´t break the scripts or the UDMF properties. Have you planned any other remakes for the future? There are a couple more planned for the near future. What should I use to run the map? GZDoom 4.5 or above with dynamic lights, shadowmaps and brightmaps enabled. Jumping and crouching are allowed. Download link?     Fun fact: I actually took several looks at the E1M5 CDoom3 team made back in the day to see how they interpreted some areas. Also, as I mentioned in the first post, there is another Ultimate Doom map remake coming very soon!

Following the legacy of my previous remake (E1M3 - Toxin Refinery Remake) back in 2019, I decided to make another one following the same rules: I am not allowed to place anything in the map (monsters or items) that was not present in the original. And the result was this, an atmospheric remake that tries to capture the suspense (pun intended) and darkness of the original Phobos Lab from 1993 but making use of advanced UDMF features such as 3D floors, dynamic lights, portals and much more! Every corridor and room has been scaled up and given a modernized look bringing a sense of a believable place without sacrificing the gameplay. In addition to that, the map is accompanied by a fantastic track created by our talented musician @Jimmy, so make sure to turn the volume up to get the best experience possible!
