PSX Doom has been my preferred version ever since I got a copy nearly a decade ago. The lights, new sounds and more ambient music just do it for me. Plus more of a controller guy anyways.

The only other big event to bring a lot of eyeballs and potential new members the scene was Joel's Mapping Contest from 6 years ago. I admit I fell off after 2017 due to being frustrated with trying to work out how to make my own levels better and being employed steadily. The use of teleporters gives me an idea for my abandoned maps if I ever go back.

Decided to pop back in to join the discussion. Great WAD you've made here, whoever you are. It's been 6 years, damn.

Maybe next time the maps makers should wait to release their maps till the contest is over?

Apparently, the message board is actually closing because dumbasses in management think they can somehow get more traffic and ad revenue by using Facebook than their own site. Makes no damn sense considering the huge amount of traffic they get from the boards alone.

I've looked everywhere and can't find any tutorial that explains how to save/export your map wads with all the custom textures. What am I supposed to be doing? -

I prefer a controller, sure might not be as accurate for running or looking up/down but it doesn't wreck my short fingers. -

I been playing on Ultra Violence since I started playing Doom again last November. -
None as good as dedicated message board for even the most obscure movie, Facebook and Twitter are not good for long discussions. Layout is awful, Reddit is only good for the latest releases or popular movies.

Trying to start a random discussion on Facebook about a specific movie is pointless, you'll either get no response or thousands which will take days to scroll through and read. Nobody benefits. IMBD is overreacting to the clusterfuck that was last year, punishing millions for the bad behavior of hundreds and sock puppet accounts. Really they just needed to have more mods and account limits.

There was only like 10 or less maps that relied heavily on memes, and that's out of 189. Kind of rude to come in and start plugging a map and saying everything else was crap. I stayed up the whole 8-9 hours of the last stream, its comedy gold especially in the last two hours when Joel starts getting cranky about his friend bringing him food.
