  1. It's nice to see my Atrophy got into the honor roll, I'm glad you liked it. Your list reminded me how many releases there were in this year of Doom mapping, so I'm definitely going to play some of the ones I've missed :)

    Favorite album covers?

This one and it's not even close:
  3. Atrophy is a boom-compatible map which heavily focuses on atmosphere and exploration. It takes around 30 minutes to beat on first playthrough. Difficulty-wise it should be accessible to most players who've played pwads before, although it can kill you if you're not careful. 4. I'm excited for another episode of BTSX, but I'm equally as excited for the release of the texture pack. I feel like once these amazing textures become publically available, we'll enter a renaissance of pwads :)

    Best Final Fights/Areas and Why

TNT Revilution, Sunlust and Valiant had good final maps. I can't really think of any other megawads that did it particularly well. I'll edit my post later if I think of any. Edit: I definitely have misread the thread :P One of the most memorable final areas I've seen in a map in recent memory is the one from map05 of Fractured Worlds. Beautiful arena suspended over the abyss with tall structures surrounding it makes for a spectacular conclusion to that level. The final fight of Heartland map06 was also quite memorable, due to its sheer scale in comparison to what came before. The fights kept getting bigger throughout that map the longer you played, and its conclusion was very satisfying.

    Atrophy - [IDGAMES RELEASE]

The wad is officially out on idgames! The link in the main post has been updated with the new download. Changes include minor cosmetic adjustments, such as brightness changes, texture alignments etc. as well as new title/intermission music by Arsinikk. I also changed the intermission screen to a pure black one. I hope you all enjoy.

    Atrophy - [IDGAMES RELEASE]

Thanks for playing everyone! From what I observed while watching multiple people's playthroughs, I won't need to make any major changes for the idgames release, just a few cosmetic things. One other thing I'm going to do is add some new titlescreen and intermission music. This may be just one playable map, but I think new midis in those places will make the wad feel more immersive anyway. So stay tuned for the update :)
  8. Hi, I know you're busy, but I'd like to watch more people play my latest map. It's boom-compatible, around 30 minutes long.

WADs with dynamic lighting and stock textures

Dark Encounters is an underrated megawad that combines vanilla textures with zdoom features pretty well.
  10. This is one of the first maps I made so I can assure you that everything I got right was accidental lmao I suppose the map had some decent moments but I feel like nearly everything I made since then is leagues better. Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

    Favorite Small Map ?

Magenta Heat from Ancient Aliens Pathfinder from Eviternity Most of Crumpets
  12. Maybe map02 from Perpetual Powers? Even for a short early megawad map I feel like it's one of the most unimpressive ones in the whole project. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/perpet

what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.

Slowly getting back into mapping for GZDoom

    The 2022 Cacowards

Congrats to all the winners! I find it really funny that I've had the biggest Doom burnout ever this year, but 3 of the projects I participated in were mentioned in the Cacowards (Ozonia, Solar Struggle, Capybara). None of my maps in those wads were my best work though, so I can't take any credit for that lol
  15. I'd like to mention Bellatrix Episode 1. Definitely one of the most impressive wads I've played in recent memory.

what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.

It's been a while since I posted something here
  17. Skulltiverse. It had a few bad maps, but overall it really surprised me with how polished it was. Definitely one of the best community projects I've played. I also enjoyed Return to Hadron more than I thought I would. Specifically episode 3 was the wad to make me remember Cannonball's name and admire his mapping skills.

Your Top 10 Megawads per Decade

2000s: Plutonia 2 Scythe Scythe 2 I'm pretty sure I liked quite a few wads from this time period, but it seems like these 3 are literally the only megawads I liked enough to put on a list like this. I'm just a normie who prefers modern maps. 2010s: Ancient Aliens Valiant Eviternity Skulldash Expanded Edition Exomoon Very stacked decade in terms of great wads. 2020s: Tarnsman's Projectile Hell Auger;Zenith Bourgeois Megawad Rowdy Rudy 2: Powertrip Skulltiverse Considering that I already have a decent top 5, this decade will most likely surpass the previous one for me.
  19. Perpetual Powers is a 21-level megawad made for and tested with GZDoom and Zandronum. The wad is split into three distinct episodes, each containing 7 maps - usually short to medium sized ones, with a large one to end the episode. The project is co-op compatible. Download: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/perpet Screenshots: Music credits and guest info: Additional credits to: Ukiro for OTEX, Tango for the trees and hanging lights from Supercharge, Captain Toenail for ice stalagmites and stone heads. Insane Gazebo for the M_DOOM logo. My playtesters: Malefication, FrancisT218, HAK3180.

    Polish DOOM WAD's

I'm a Polish mapper so you can check out the ones I made if you want. Perpetual Powers, Alienated.
  21. I even liked it enough to use in one of my maps :))))) My other picks would be: Ice by Dial Up for Murder (Eviternity Map11) Aorta by Tristan Clark (Sunder Map32) Grandfather Clocktower by Viscra Maelstrom (TNT Revilution Map27) Angry Science by Xaser (BTSX E2 Map26) Industrial by Simon Judd (Valiant Map23 and a lot of others) And probably a ton more that I'm forgetting at the moment. I might edit my post later if I remember.
  22. Alienated is a 10-level wad made for GZDoom and Zandronum. It features levels of varying size and difficulty, all made with the Ancient Aliens texture pack. There are 9 regular levels and one secret map, accessible from map06. The wad is meant to be played with dynamic lights turned on. Freelook is recommended, but not required. No jumping or crouching. Do not use vanilla or software in the sector light mode settings, as these options can mess with certain tricks used in map08 and ruin the experience for you. DOWNLOAD: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/a-c/alienated SCREENSHOTS: - map09 ''Ascension'' - map05 ''Acid Flow'' - map03 ''Seatooth'' - map06 ''Clash'' (made in collaboration with UgiBugi) The project is fully co-op compatible. Special thanks to: UgiBugi, Malefication, Hak3180, Immorpher - for playtesting Elend - for creating the M_DOOM image
