    They had to include pre-order bonuses, didn't they? Doom 2016's launch was so "clean" that it was strange, but I guess they were just waiting to get some more confidence from the fans before pulling the inevitable AAA BS.

    I got screwed at the start a couple times, but it was mostly a thing of patience for the rest of the level, although luck probably helped as well. I was killing everything I could find, and trying to find as many secrets as possible, but not with a real intention of 100%ing the levels.

    It's strange to me to see so many people mentioning how tough the mapset is. I pistol started every map on UV and I thought it was pretty tame compared to some of the stuff the community has put out. I died, what, 10 times? I've died double that amount in a single room in some community maps on HMP :P
  7. The Readme file that comes with most mods usually says whether or not you're allowed to use its resources. If there's no information about that, then you should try asking the mod's author directly. If you take resources without permission, there's a high chance you'll piss someone off.

    There was one time when I got a virus that closed any windows that I opened, effectively killing all functionality in Windows. I had to format my PC. Wasn't pretty.

    Yeah, it's not like we're still playing a game from 1993 ;) Anyhow, you'd probably have more luck over on the ZDoom forums, as people here usually tend to focus on Boom mapping and things of the sort.

    Isn't there anyone that can lend you some headphones? Isn't that game running on DOSBox, anyway? I wouldn't be surprised if that was causing issues somehow. If you can't fix the issue, there's also a pretty damn good official Android port that you can play. It's free on Play Store.

    I never expected someone to actually base a mod on something made by me LOL, especially considering how badly made it is. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, I suppose :) I noticed that you tried to define the Axe actor twice, one replacing the Crossbow and another one replacing the SkullRod. You can't have two actors with the same name, so GZDoom will take one of them and change its name, which in turn will cause the game to have a duplicate of Timon's Axe. This duplicate isn't defined on the player class, so the player won't be able to select it after picking it up, and even if you added the definition, why would you want the player to carry two identical weapons? What you can do instead is to use a RandomSpawner that replaces the Hellstaff and always spawns a Crossbow, which in turn will be replaced by the Axe actor: ACTOR AxeSpawner : RandomSpawner replaces SkullRod { DropItem "Crossbow", 255, 1 } I don't know if there's a better way to do this, but I just checked and it works just fine.

I know sending "good vibes" will do jack shit for Jimmy's bills, but I don't have any money to give him. Being nice (or trying to...) is all I can do right now.

    I haven't played the remaster myself yet, but I don't think the issues will be too terrible for newcomers. For us however, the guys who've been playing the game for ages, those things can be extremely annoying because we know the game like the back of our hands.

    Is that Cerberus (the two-headed, fire-breathing dog)? If so, I remember that happening to me once in the original game. I think there's something weird going on with the geometry where it's standing on.

    Those actually look more like bugs/oversights to me rather than the kind of inaccuracies you get from porting the game to a different engine.

    What source port are you using? If you're having perfomance issues with a ZDoom-based port, I recommend you try PrBoom+ or Eternity.

    I can't stand low sample rates, so I throw it all the way up to 48000 if I can. When it comes to the framerate, I always play at 60 FPS (since that's the most my display can handle) if the port I'm using supports it.
