  1. You know when you write a long thoughtful answer, put your heart into the words, feeling every letter, click Submit, and the thread was eliminated?

Has happened to me as well. I've gotten into the habit of highlighting lengthy posts and Ctrl+C'ing just before submitting them. I also use the PM system to store DWMC entries I'm writing; the software usually preserves in-progress posts even if you close the thread and reopen it later, but it's quite easy for that to get lost.

Yeah, I've had that happen too. If I go into writing a post that I know is going to be long and thoughtful, sometimes I'll write/edit it in notepad, then just copy/paste into the thread. For less lengthy posts, I do what rdwpa said, and ctrl-C just before posting.

Yeah I sometimes do the notepad thing or CopyPaste because I almost always obliterate my posts before successfully putting them through.

YouTube has been frustrating me lately, because sometimes I write a long comment, hit the "comment" button, and then it says "Comment failed to post. By the way, we deleted your comment, so all you can do now is refresh the page and type it all over again. That is, of course, assuming you remember everything you wrote before, including time stamps. BUHWAHAHAH!!"

... Or something along those lines.
