And I thought that maps 21 to 25 were hard enough but I get the fun part behind it. Map 26 is definitely doable with enough practice. People here said that lowering the difficulty is fine. Then you have map 30, which it's a bigger behemoth than map 26 and it's still manageable. There are many ways to mitigate that issue to convert that disappointment into fun. Heck, I even played the wad with Russian Overkill once, because fuck it and it was fun to do it. And those 2 maps are nothing compared to the later maps of Scythe 2. That's where the real shit happens...

Base Ganymede and Concerned, for Doom, came to my mind right now for some hard and non-slaughter-themed wads.

Post your Doom video! [but don't quote video]
leodoom85 replied to DuckReconMajor's topic in Doom General
It's one of the maps from NoReason Speedmaps 3 but...just watch. -
Sounds like what I see everyday at many places. It doesn't surprise me at all. Even I have to deal with some minor bullshit periodically. The best option is to respond back appropiately. If that doesn't work and it continues with such bullshit, get out of that ambient and look to somewhere else. It's for the better. Seriously...I try to avoid such crap but, we're subject to fucking stress everyday. @DubbagGood luck with your stuff and, I really hope that you get a better ambience. We all deserve it, especially at these stressful times. It's ok to vent but don't let that become a habit.

RockPaperShotgun's 2021 Top 100 PC Games of All Time
leodoom85 replied to Maribo's topic in Everything Else
"HEY...THAT LIST IS TRASH!!! HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE?..." What I can say is, every list is subjective and it must not be taken seriously. You guys have your own list, which obviously can differ from each individual and it's completely reasonable. And, it's showing PC games only anyway. -
Is there anyone that uses switch textures directly on a wall or do you place the switches in a small nook?
leodoom85 replied to RichardDS90's topic in Doom General
Both, depending of the texture. -
This is "Rip and tear"....weird...
-
DOOM...yep, the name of the game.

[Release, v1.0.2] Freaky Panties IV: Hipsters and Bikinis
leodoom85 replied to Remilia Scarlet's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Do I missed FP3? or doesn't exist? And the good old dynamic difficulty is back. Gonna try it now. -
Goddammit.......well, you're not quite wrong though. 4 big muscular mummies are guarding a throne with a key.
-
Well, 4.7.1 has no issues. I played the map as intended on that port, no changes at compatibility. Haven't touched anything at all. Map worked fine...

@game You can add for Heretic: Masters of Chaos Sitnalta Heretic Treasure Chest 20 Heretics Challenge Hordes of Chaos X HUMP I might remember others but can't remember the names... For Hexen: Serpent: Resurrection Necrosis Hexmas Wolfen Caldera Tower of Chaos Scourge of Viscerus And I think that's all that I have on my mind right now...
-
4.7.1? Interesting. Might check it out later if it happens to me. And, it should work without issues because the switches for that stair aren't really close to each other, like in Nirvana...

What do you think is the worst Enemy in Doom II?
leodoom85 replied to AwesomeGuy05's topic in Doom General
Idea for next thread: Which dehacked monster, of all of the custom wads out there, is the most dangerous? or the most annoying? Lost souls are the literal embodiment of seeking attention while having a kamikaze mode activated. Simple but effective. -
What do you think is the worst Enemy in Doom II?
leodoom85 replied to AwesomeGuy05's topic in Doom General
You must be the unluckiest guy on earth. RNG loves to play with you or something. But, it's not the case, at all. I'd say that revenants are really versatile, love it or hate it. To me, pain elementals and archies are tied for well known reasons. No question. Heck, even the player might be the worst enemy because of potential mistakes or accidents that can happen...and it's usually coupled with rockets. -
Doom Maps That Take the Form of an Epic Journey
leodoom85 replied to Leostales's topic in Doom General
Ancient Aliens is the definition of a good acid trip-like journey. Fucking hell, I was waiting for someone who would mention that wad. Easily my all-time favorite wad for a great journey. -
1000 Lines 3: Community Project - V1.0 Released
leodoom85 replied to Liberation's topic in WAD Releases & Development
So...I did a quick play of 5 maps, both vanilla and modded. The first episode is a funny fusion of a simplified Eviternity and Duke Nukem, which I liked it a lot. The weirdest and expected moment happened in the modded play. I used Russian Overkill for fun and, both imp and cacodemon shoot a projectile that disappear the further it goes. And mancubus' projectiles are literal transparent pieces of rock... So yeah, expect weird shit if you want to play with mods, especially with mods that replace assets. Also, the secrets on the first map are quite hard to find if the player doesn't have a good eye ;) I'll continue to play the rest the next days until it's done. -

Congrats everyone!!! I'll play this right now. -
*When some easter eggs in some serious megawads are much funnier than whole jokewads...* That happens.

Doomworld Community Heretic / Hexen Top WADs of All Time
leodoom85 replied to UnknDoomer's topic in WAD Discussion
Might I say that Heretic Treasure Chest and 20 Heretics Challenge are another 2 Heretic wads that I've played (HTC is well known but kinda forgotten lately and 20HC is much less known). There aren't much Heretic content, sadly... Ah yeah...there's HUMP too. -
At this point, I wonder if this guy played Plutonia only once to formulate such thing. Because that narrows the final opinion of the wad instead of giving a few tries to have a reasonable review and stop blaming the bullies that were placed for a good reason...or the progression. We all started the IWAD with problems but got better over time. The rest is just details and nitpicks that we can spot after playing it several times. Anyway, NIH is right. We gave all kind of responses and if the guy keeps like that, then so be it.
-
Basically, practice until you get the hang of it and it will be easy. If it's difficult, lower the difficulty and, once it's done properly, do it again on a hard difficulty to master your skill. It's only natural to us to learn stuff until we are experienced. Good thing that Doom keeps evolving...
-
This thread basically goes from "progression" to "blame the skellingtons with their bullying companions". Yeah, it would be a shame indeed because it raises some (not all) fair points for the IWAD concerns from a point of view. Yeah, naturally there are many who would disagree for sure.
