  1. EDIT: I didn't think about if this thread was for 2D art only since it's been a long time, I don't exactly remember how this forum works but I think I have to request for my posts to get deleted? So mods could you please delete this reply if it's offtopic?

Here's a bunch of 3D renders I made in Blender, been trying to improve my skills since I mostly just made 3D FNaF stuff as a kid and didn't learn much else

(the bedroom and TV renders are using free assets, but the other 3D models are done by me)

Don't do drugs, kids, or you'll end up like this

That Graig dude needs to be unbanned and heard! He was dropping the special science on all of Doomworld and yet the ancient ones of 2012 did not heed his warnings, "half message stop" "buddism is corrupt" "hold chick air stick deck chair nose buy jumbo jet bury cloth" if only they had listened. But I believe the Satanism Ankar wrote down in their ancient scriptures that he is fated to return in our darkest hour, so that's pretty good unless the 128 Jews in a boat intercepts his existence.

  3. It's okay, really okay.

The level design isn't that great and I get bored playing for some reason, which is weird because normally I love FPS games even if they're just mediocre like Hacx (1.2) or Deus Ex Invisible War. Maybe it's because I'm not big into medieval styled fantasy, but I'm huge into sci-fi, so my mind is less forgiving of the flaws?

I added more comparisons to @Boaby Kenobi's image. GlideN64 is a more N64 accurate plugin. The Steam version you can tweak the brightness to match the original. I'm also using a different hud in Ex, I forgot to change it back when I took the screencap.

    Also quick first impressions:

Doom 64 EX has a lot more features and looks better*.

Doom 64 Steam / Doom 64 (2020) has it's own exclusive features (like demos for example) and I believe has a lot of bug fixes.

I haven't played a whole lot of D64 Steam, so there's probably a lot more differences I missed.

*Actually I take that back, I think D64E looks better in some places (like filtered weapon sprites) and D64S looks better in others (like the colored lighting looks more vibrant and the AA)

I've recently learned that D64S is actually more accurate than D64E

I thought you somehow unironically agreed with that nonsense

Lol, I'm glad that cleared up I was worried I was going to be digging my grave deeper no matter how much I tried to correct myself.

I can't believe there's people out there would actually believe that though. I've seen conspiracy theories that are downright offensive and disrespectful, but the epidemic is happening right now and they could really mislead people who already are uninformed and get people killed.

I don't actually understand, is this supposed to be sarcasm or?

It's not sarcasm, the part that looks sarcastic is referencing what I actually did wrong, but in a more humorous way to make myself feel a bit less guilty, "Well I learned my lesson about not researching things that can affect the lives of thousands of people then making a statement about it, then barely doing any research at all to defend my flawed thinking. Shit that's where conspiracy theories come from isn't it? I need to use the internet less, or use it more productively." Sorry if it came across as sarcastic.

  7. I feel really bad about what I said, I've made stupid statements in the past due to not bothering to researching and have been rightfully called out for it, but this is a new low. I didn't just say something like "this show is bad because blah blah blah" I basically just shrugged off the death of 10,000 people and potentially even more in the future.

I noticed a lot of people do not take the virus and its danger to society at large at all ... "because it's no big deal and it's likely a governmental conspiracy/only those afraid of it get sick/it's the fault of the secret societies or the occult secret order led by the freemasonry".

And now I feel even worse that I basically sided with conspiracy nuts and my logic and reasoning was on the level of a conspiracy theory.

Well I learned my lesson about not researching things that can affect the lives of thousands of people then making a statement about it, then barely doing any research at all to defend my flawed thinking. Shit that's where conspiracy theories come from isn't it? I need to use the internet less, or use it more productively.

Those death rate percentages are pretty high, I don’t know where you heard them but the hope is that the death rate among all infected (even those who don’t realize they have it) is much lower. If this had a death rate of almost 6% across all infections, that would be worthy of an even greater reaction. Right now, they are hoping that it ends up being in the 1% range I think which would be 10x worse than the flu.

I got the exact percentage from this article:

    https://www.businessinsider.com/us-worlds-highest-coronavirus-death-rate-limited-testing-2020-3?op=1

But I've heard from most people it's not a big percentage, but didn't get an exact number.

The deathrate I assumed was the chance of dying (5.7% chance the infected individual will die from it) not out of all infected 5.7% will die.

I think I've been misinformed and I'll apologize and delete all my statements. I was told the chance of dying was very low and I was arrogant in assuming that's what the percentages were in reference to and didn't look deep enough into it. I'm not worried about it on my behalf because my family and I don't go out much anyway, however I'm very worried that other people are just as uninformed as I was and it could get worse.

I don't see why that's funny. All it does is set you back on your course and your potential working carreer. So i would try to keep up to speed despite the offset.

This would be a problem if I was in college, but I'm still in high school. US public schools are really bad at preparing their students for their future. Right now I'm doing the bare minimum of work just to graduate then I'm going to get a temp job to make enough money to keep myself alive and try to get into a college for art, since the career I want is as a comic book writer / artist.

It's satisfying to see how people who think it's not a big deal eventually cave in that yes it is. I wonder how much death needs to happen for everyone to follow the protocol.

Ignore my statements, you were right I was grossly underestimating the problem.

  11. My old comment was uninformed and overly jokey so here's a more serious one. I realize now that it is a big deal, but people are still going about it wrong by rushing to stores to hoard toilet paper and food, not to mention that nobody offline seems to be taking it seriously (me included) and everyone is spreading misinformation.

On the brightside it seems to be getting better and most people are recovering.

    Old comment:

Everyone is overreacting about it, but at least I'm off of school for weeks potentially months lol.

  12. I honestly don't get what's with the such strong feelings towards Nu-Doom. I don't understand where the feeling of it being such an awful piece of shit that it's cursed existence actively makes existence a much worse place to be in comes from. It just felt like an evolution of Quake's gameplay with influence from Serious Sam's levels mixed with some modern shooter elements like weapon upgrades and stats. It's not like the 'Shock' games or Halo or Deus Ex where it makes sense as to why people would absolutely adore those games or despise them with the fury of a thousand raging suns. The hate train stuff feels unwarranted and after reading some of the stuff from here it seems like the hate train is comprised of arbitrary excuses to make the passengers of said train look like wise retro purists who know better than those silly developers, almost on the same level of how people perceive boomers hating the younger generation for just being different.

  13. Kinda a hard choice for me, Mutiny might be my favorite wad, but I really like Back to Saturn X (E1&E2) and the Scythe series. I also really like Rowdy Rudy's Revenge's gameplay changes. For recreations or edited Doom stuff I like Doom 64: Retribution (my fav version of D64), Doom 64 for Doom 2, and Maps of Chaos.

  14. It's a mixed bag. It's got really good level design, story telling, and atmosphere, it's very campy and scary at the same time like an old horror movie. That being said it can also be boring at times and the weapons and enemies are really weak.
