    Tell me some mapping sins

    It becomes a problem when you can get to that switch with more than 100% health. The soulsphere can be essential for the fight, but if I have enough health already it's nice to be able to save the sphere for later. Being forced to waste health or ammo is always annoying, especially in maps that have scarce resources.

    Doom Pictures Thread 2022

    It's for a small boom compatible mapset that I will be working on, maybe 5 or 6 maps, not sure yet. One of my goals is to make a set where each map has a very different color scheme / theme. Right now I'm just testing some new textures that I will use for the final map.
  9. Doomworld needs more maps like this, I loved it. The music was also fantastic. I was a bit afraid of the difficulty and the platforming with the way you described it but I actually found it very enjoyable on UV. Good job!

As explained many times before, all the maps will be in a single wad, but this wad will not have the traditional mapslots structure, the maps will be sorted by format (so all vanilla maps first, then limit removing, then boom and so on) and they'll be reached via a hubmap at the start, so you can play all the maps at any order you want (I'm not sure if pistol starts will be forced tho)
  11. Thanks MFG38, I completely agree with all the things that you and other people pointed out, but I hope the experience was still enjoyable regardless of those minor things. As I said in a post above, I will use all the feedback that I received in this thread to improve for my future maps.

    Congratulations to all the other winners! There's sooo many good releases this year, it's crazy. Sometimes I honestly thing that 2nd place on the list is way too high for me when I look at the other winners and see how amazing they look in comparison :p but I'm very grateful to the Cacoward team for making it possible and to the community for all the support. Thanks everyone ^^

  16. Unknown is a monsterless boom-compatible puzzle map that I made in less than 2 weeks. I started making this map for a community project but at the end I decided to release it standalone instead (I will make another map for that project eventually). I only used one custom texture (from ComTex) for the skybox, status bar and titlepic/interpic, everything else is Doom 2 stock textures only. The "No Trees" version of the wad included in the zip file removes all the sector trees in the map, improving the framerate if needed.     Corn on pizza

    I had corn on pizza before and it's great, as long as you mix it with the right ingredients like some people said already. The one I had was chipotle sauce, chicken, bacon, red onions and corn.
  19. I just watched muumi's video and it looks like the wad has the first version of my map, not the latest one. I think there's also some missing textures in map01, behind the lift that takes you to the secret berserk.

  22. I wish I could help you but I'm not sure about what can be done to improve the framerate in those areas. They also lag a lot in my PC and I noticed it while making the map, but I hoped that it was because I have a potato computer. I was a bit surprised to see that it also lags with new PCs like yours, but maybe someone else can help you. Btw, I never said this before because I'm a bit shy and I'm not very active in the forums, but I want to thank everyone who played the map and everyone who recorded videos/streams and gave me feedback, also to everyone who mentioned the map for the cacowards. I really appreciate all the support this map received, it means a lot to me. There's some minor things in Lullaby that could be improved or totally changed in an update, but I decided to leave the map as it is for personal reasons. I still promise that I have been reading all your feedback, and it really helps me to improve as a mapper and to make better maps in the future.
