    Your Thoughts On Doomworld Roleplays?

I like 'em, and would prolly engage in them if I weren' t creatively bankrupt.
  2. The one that suits my needs best ofc. GZDoom/DSDA Doom/Crispy.

    Melee combat in old FPSes

Hexen had good melee combat tho, as the Fighter, as the Axe had decent range, damage, and you were fast too. SW Classic and modern both featured good melee combat with the sword, it was very useful in the classic title when clearing populated rooms using Smoke Bombs to remain undetected. In modern SW it's paired with strong chi attacks, making it a highly competent weapon for most scenarios. The slicing animations and gibbing is also extremely satisfying. There's also Amid Evil which had a similarly useful axe, quite powerful and had decent range. And although not recommended the majority of time, HL2 also had decent melee if you could get close enough to Combine Soldiers, of all the things, when they weren't in big groups, as once you got too close to them, they attempted to push you, but the crowbar actually stunlocked them, preventing the soldiers from doing anything to you at all. The stunlock feature was integrated into HL:S as well, this time around capable of stunlocking all enemies.
  4. Bad idea, don't, plus it may just be the way you are too, I'm also skinny and fast food made absolutely no difference back when I was eating it more fweqwently. You may also develop other problems over time if you eat fast food 24/7, so getting fat would be the least of your concern. Unhealthy food leads to unhealthy life, it's as simple as that.
  5. Not even that, since N64 filtering doesn't look like the butt-fugly, blurry mess of PC when used on pixel graphics. Doom 64's bilinear filter on the N64 made it look amazing, though it was made specifically for the game, it can't compare with what PCs do in comparison. I turn texture filtering off in Quake engine games as well, as I find it horrible there too. GoldSrc games are some of the only old titles where I find texture filtering nice.

    The curse of Doom

I think it's only natural for Doom to take up so much spare time from someone considering the plethora of wads available, and more coming out on a regular basis, meaning that there's a regular supply of content to be played for a very long time without even thinking of playing something else. That being said, it can get repetitive sometimes, these last few days I've gotten a bit tired of Doom, Build, Doom, and what a surprise, more Doom afterwards, so the new CG3 hub coming out recently was a nice change of pace for me. And continues to be, as I've decided to play more HL2 mods for some time too.
  7. Plus would you even want to go beyond that? Maps are reasonably challenging and populated as they are on skill 3 anyway 🦊.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

Indeed, there are ways to turn a weakness into a strong point too. Besides, there's some truth in an old saying too - "There is no such thing as bad publicity. All publicity is good publicity." And I agree, at this point the best course of action would probably be just making a public statement and leaving it there every time shit hits the fan. Feeding the drama queens and ignorant buffoons is only going to give them exactly what they want. Plus, with Brutal Fate now coming out, I think it's become obvious their hate has not made them strong, they instead got consumed by it 🦊.

    old games modded still better

Especially since they were not promised, they were considered. That's two very different things, especially in relation to the DLC.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

    Sad reality, I'm afraid.
  11. Basically, pretty much everything that violates common sense, like Bio said above. But in a few words: Posting NSFW material (gore, pornography, et al), extremism, flaming, spamming (with very short and pointless posts/topics just to increase your postcount), bigotry, harassment, racism, asking for warez (Doom or otherwise), excessive trolling, seeking arguments/baiting users into arguments, and the list can probably go on, but this should cover the, let's say, "essentials". Basically, don't do stupid things that would get you banned on any reasonably sane and moderated place 🦊.

Should I get System Shock 1 or 2?

Play both, but keep in mind that SS1 is quite a product of its time and will take some time to get used to, especially its interface. SS2 is a lot more accessible in comparison, and it may suit you if you like FPS/RPG hybrids and have played similar games, notably the original Deus Ex. Don't try to kill everything though, as the levels are not clearable.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

Perhaps not full blown flame wars, but BD absolutely still carries some stigma, even if not as much as it did once, and so does Mark. Things got better since, but there is always room for even better. Still, regrets are pointless, I guess this is just the price of doing dumb shit on the internet once, enough for everyone to remember, forever.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

Yeah... just like last time, I'm with Mark on this again. He apologized, he acknowledged what he did, he changed, he moved on. The fact that some people still refuse to move on after all this time just proves that the internet remembers and does not want to forgive and continues to live in the past, which is just one of the ways it has become so toxic nowadays and full of petty vendettas, insults, harassment, and other things. But what am I saying, carry on with your game... I'm surprised Mark still bothers with this shit at all...

In which case, we already have a winner 🦊.

Why is TNT said to be bad after Map 20?

Because it's where most of the bad maps are located, with the likes of the infamous Habitat. The map quality just takes a nosedive from that point onward, and I find the fact that some wads out there such as THT Threnody stop at MAP20 is no coincidence. Later maps drag on, have so and so level design, and average gameplay.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

    He's pretty brutal too, ngl.
  18. Besides, is that really a surprise after all? Doom 3 has not enjoyed a new release since it came to Steam, after BFG came out it superseded it in the rest of the digital stores.

    Your opinion on Brutal Doom

Good at what it does, not for me. Goodness, this question again...
  20. Well, yes, apart from the Game Pass, but that in itself in very far removed from some speculations made here, like future Bethesda games potentially getting cancelled. Dang, such party crashers Microsoft bois, crashing parties before they even start.
  21. What kind of games? I think people are being overly paranoid at this point. So far, the deal is done, and nothing else has come out of it. Might be better to just wait and stop speculating, especially if said speculation is unfounded.

There is no place for the middle

Good question. I think the double-A moniker is pretty stupid. Indeed, what would classify as a single-A game? A studio and game with slightly more people and money than an indie studio?

    How are you playing DOOM?

With my paws hands while sitting on a chair that hurts after extended periods of time. On a serious note, PC since I have not owned a console in centuries (and only ever had NES clones), in GZDoom/PrBoom/Crispy, with a mouse & kb, 1080p resolution, no texture filtering or other mods loaded, apart from a custom plasma sfx I load in vanilla and Brightmaps Plus.
