Limited Run Games is going to release Doomguy's classic helmet
Knee Deep In The Fan replied to fufu's topic in Doom General
So originally they said it there were only 4,000 being made. Now that line has been removed and the bundle is also being sold on the Bethesda store where they state only 20,000 are being produced and only one can be bought at a time. I'm still on the fence about it, because after shipping this comes out to about the same I paid for the DE collector's edition and that included a game. -

Took some measurements of my DE helmet, since I couldn't find the dimensions for it posted anywhere, and it looks like this helmet will be pretty much the same size in terms of height and width. Wasn't going to try and get it if it was noticeably smaller, since I'd want to put both helmets on display next to each other, but now I for sure want to try and get it. Between this and the Doom 64 release they are doing the same day, I may have to choose one or the other. -

This would look nice next to my Doom Eternal helmet. -
BREAKING NEWS MICROSOFT BUYS ZENIMAX MEDIA FOR 7.5 BILLION
Knee Deep In The Fan replied to Terrcraft's topic in Doom General
It's possible, but if they do want to announce that their games will still be available on other platforms, they will most likely wait until the after both consoles have been on the market for a bit. -

I mean why would they say something like that right now right before the next gen consoles are about to drop and are wanting people to buy their console? That would be just a dumb business move. -

The price for another Fallout game by Obsidian was always going to be high. -

Things about Doom you just found out
Knee Deep In The Fan replied to Sigvatr's topic in Doom General
...so yeah, I just found out that the Berserk power-up lasts for the whole level and not just during the red screen. I've been playing Doom for over 20 years and I feel like my whole life has been a lie. -
The Marauder didn't seem that bad to me after following the directions
Knee Deep In The Fan replied to Linguica's topic in Doom Eternal
I've seen videos of Slayer Gate runs and he can be damaged with the BFG, but only during when he's in mid transition of an action. It still doesn't kill him mind, and takes a bit luck and timing, but it is possible. -

On his own he's fine, it's when doing the Slayer Gates he becomes a problem as the other demons aren't just going to wait around for you to fight him 1v1. -
Did anyone else who ordered the collector's edition from Best Buy also get a free second, different, steelbook case?

They had the inflatable guns at last year's Quakecon (or Doomcon as it was called).

Oh look it's the dude that accused Romero of charging people for Sigil. Does he also claim Eternal is too unfair and cheap because he keeps dying due to just blindly running through the levels as fast as he can?

Doom Annihilation was lame. What a disappointing movie. :/
Knee Deep In The Fan replied to Mechaghostman2's topic in Doom General
So finally got around to seeing this movie. Not going to lie, in the months it was first announced, I had high hopes for this movie: monsters were going to be actual costumes instead of shitty CGI, director and other staff were claiming it was going to be truer to the original material than the last movie was, it actually takes place on Phobos instead of just Mars itself, etc. Now that I've seen it, it wasn't terrible, but it damn sure wasn't good either. I liked the easter eggs and references, even if some seemed forced at times. I liked the the design of the Imps and many of the set designs, but other than that the film felt pretty hollow. None of the characters had any depth whatsoever (except maybe the chaplain) and I didn't care when any of them died. The fact that Imps were the only demons, besides whatever that Argent D'nur knight-looking wannabe at the end was supposed to be, was pretty disappointing. I get it was a limited budget, but at least throw us a Pinky or something. Also, the fact they had so much trouble with just Imps, I can only imagine what just one Hell Knight would do. All and all, pretty disappointing. At the least the 2005 movie has the cool 1st person scene. That's at least re-watchable. Can't really think of any part like that for this film. -
Saturn...nah just kidding. The 32X version blows it away.
