  1. Realms Of Cronos is a community hub for Hexen with 10 levels. The hub is non-linear, but you must complete certain goals and retrieve keys to unlock certain maps. There are extra enemies, decorations, and textures for new themes like an Aztec city, a snowy castle, and a Chinese village. It's made for GZDoom (tested in 4.3) and some levels were made with dynamic lights in mind.     Some recolors of the brass doors into green and brown. Also tried blue but wasnt having luck with the palette.

    Little depth? I think it has plenty of depth just because the monster roster is so well-balanced. Like Doom, every monster has a unique role, and they all play off eachother. The depth comes from prioritizing the right enemies and using the right weapons in the right situation, not the level design. All of the enemies are faster than you, so you can't just pedal backwards forever, you always need to be reacting.

    Cool, final room looks good now. But it seems the player start spot has been moved to the wrong spot (you start in the lava area). Also, the textures on the border of doors (DOORTRAK) should be flagged as "lower unpegged" so that they dont move when the door raises.

    I went back and found the way out. It doesnt really look like a door, it just looks like a regular wall. Anyways, there should be some visual indicator that you're locked in, like a fence raising, or a barrier lowering from the ceiling.

    Nice level. The custom textures and SS replacements look very cool. The level design and combat flows nicely. The end seems unfinished though, because when you go across the bridge for the megahealth, there are missing textures, invisible walls, and no apparent way to actually finish the level. My only other complaint would be that the baby cacos are too cute to kill, haha. Also, there should be some health and ammo in the lava section, instead of in the secret behind it.

    The enemies in Hexen are much less spongey and also their attacks are less dangerous in general. Easier to coast through if you know where to go.

    You know the phrase "take it with a grain of salt"? That makes sense. But it gets my goat a bit when people say "take it with a huge grain of salt". Thats the opposite, that would mean put a lot of trust into it!

    Right click the link and select "save link as". Then select "keep" instead of "discard". At least that worked for me in Chrome. Its just being a bitch about possibly unsecure downloads.

    Last I checked the Steam version of Quake doesnt even have working music, so this is sure to be an improvement.

The project will have 3 approximate phases - preparation, work, and refinement. Preparation is 1 week of time in which contributors join in and can plan their map and claim what items they need for it. Work will be 2 months of mapping to create a playable level. Refinement will be a couple weeks of playtesting, bugfixing, and generally finalizing for release. LZDoom is the intended engine. Maps should be made in Hexen, ZDoom: Hexen, or ZDoom: Hexen UDMF format using ZDoom ACS. Be mindful of how the map will look in software mode. Jumping is allowed, crouching is not. The resource pack (goc-resource.pk3) includes extra textures, decorations, & ambient sounds are for variety. Includes city, snowy, Egyptian, Aztec, and more themes. There are also many new keys/puzzle items. Four new monsters are included - the Archer Knight, Lava Stalker, Medusa, & Rock Lizard. Rather than regular skies, maps will use Quake-style scrolling skies. You can pick one from the example map (goc-skies.wad) and copy it into your map. If you need extra resources, they can be submitted for approval. The project will be in a continuous hub format like the original Hexen. The hub will be divided into 3 groups of maps, which will be unlocked sequentially by collecting items in side maps & defeating bosses in the hub. There are 9 slots besides the hub & boss maps, but more can be added if there's more demand. You must claim an available map slot, and your map must include the item for that slot, which will be used in the hub. Additionally, you can use other items/keys for progression within your map. You must claim which ones you want to use. Any map can use the Death Wyvern, but you must claim the Heresiarch. A Heresiarch fight should be in a later map after the 3rd weapon is received. You may also claim introducing a piece of the 4th weapon. The first 2 should be prominent and not easy to miss, but the 3rd piece should be a secret. There is a Discord server for the project. In addition to general discussion, it has some guides on Hexen and ACS for newcomers, a list of items to claim, and info on the new monsters. You don't have to join it to participate, but it is a much faster method of communication than forums. Playtesters are welcome to join. You can record demos on ZDoom with the -warp [mapxx] -record [filename] argument, and play them back with the -playdemo [filename] argument or console command.   20. Guys, I was referring to what NIH said about me, which was without evidence. Man, when people want you to be the enemy they'll just find any way to twist your words. Anyways, I gave my defense of the mod, and people seem to have become disinterested in engaging with it, so Ill stop clogging up the thread with arguing now.
  21. I didnt even mention the alleged deadnaming in that post because I already addressed it earlier (it doesnt seem like that was the intent). It wasnt related to the stuff about sense of humor. Again, assuming the absolute worst intentions with no evidence to make the other side look bad. Its disheartening that so many of the old guard on here want to use debate tactics to smear people instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt to avoid drama.
  22. The benefit of the doubt isnt relevant in this situation because theyve made their feelings explicitly clear. Thats obviously different from a case where someone's intentions are up for interpretation. Do you see the distinction there or do you feel those are equivalent?
  23. But the actual alleged victims havent actually posted anything in this thread or made their feelings known as far as I can see. Its true that whether or not one is offended by these things is a difference in sense of humor. But out of everyone, it's definitely not me thats projecting my sense of humor, because I havent made a claim that they are or are not offended. But anyways, yes, I do think its conducive to a friendly environment to give people the benefit of the doubt.
  24. I have a sense of humor, so if a mod depicted me as a drunkard or shitting (which is what NotJabba said this mod does), I'd find it amusing. How about, instead of assuming it was made with offensive intent and has offended the relevant people, we let the people themselves respond? Are Heit and Enjay offended? Or are people feeling offended on their behalf?
  25. Interesting lesson, but I dont live under a rock. The thing is that it sounds like there's a character that references the person (who was known as a male for much of their life). Not a direct representation of the person. So the character being a different gender doesnt imply anything about the person themselves. I mean, maybe people could just give Torm the benefit of the doubt and say "hey, this could be interpreted this way, what do you have to say about that". Instead of saying he's racist/sexist/x-phobic, which are pretty much the most evil things one can be in American culture.
