Thanks for all the feedback folks! It's interesting the comments about it being retro or not. I guess I should have said something more along the lines of "retro-inspired" because it's not trying to evoke any one particular game (outside of certain environments of alien trilogy) but to treat retro as a visual style in of itself. I definitely need to work on how to describe the game better!

@CWolf - thanks for the kind words! @Reaper8888 - thank you! @VGA - It has designed levels rather than procedural ones, meaning no randomness. Mapping tools is a possibility, depends on budget and time really. It is being made in Unity.

@Uni - It sure is a rear view mirror. At its basic level, it shows you what is behind you. Later on in the game, you will be able to fire behind you and see enemies that can only be seen in the mirror.

@dmg_64 - This will be a level based game rather than arenas!
