    Demo playing

P.S. Is there a program that will lump a bunch of demos into one big demo? If not, when will we ever get a source port that has you select demos from a list of files, rather than running it from the command line every time?

    Demo playing

The demo I'm talking about also does not work with PrBoom. It's a NM Speed demo of the whole game, filename 30nm3143 I believe. It screws up on the second level, <speech slows as realization sinks in> right... near... the... shotgun... seargent... ...which is where that weird bug is where the LOS or something is calculated incorrectly! Either the demo was recorded on a fixed version and PrBoom doesn't fix this, or it was recorded on a unfixed version and PrBoom does fix this. Either way would cause a bug. The exact point where it messes up goes by way too fast to see, but it's somewhere right near that cell. The player starts making a few freaky movements that don't make sense, then something kills him, which obviously shouldn't happen. He then starts the level again when he wasn't supposed to, causing him to run around randomly and shoot the walls. He probably just stays there forever, because in his random shooting he actually manages to pick off the guys on the ledge. So, what _AM_ I going to do?

    Demo playing

Allright, I'll try that. Though it's nice to have one thing that is OK for everything; why does zDoom not play them?

    Demo playing

Okay, I have a real demo problem here. I can't use the original DOOM executable since it's pure DOS and doesn't work well under XP, I can't use Doom95 because any demo I play always goes horribly out of sync, and for some strange reason I can't play them with zDoom because "v1.9 demos are no longer supported". If they aren't, then what is? And why?

    No help for WinDEU32

That could get confusing, as that was the download on DoomWorld's website. The documentation said something like 5.25 beta 3, but the zipfile said 529. I wonder how many people were deterred from using WinDEU because of that wrong download.

    No help for WinDEU32

Never mind. I had some kind of beta thing, now I got 5.24. It has the help and stuff. Yay!

    No help for WinDEU32

As the title says, there is absolutely no help and no tutorial whatsoever in the W32DEU525.zip file. There's an init file, a readme, a DLL which I copied to the correct location, a license file, a What's New text file, and the program itself. I would like to have help, since the interface is very confusing; it brings up a "Results of WAD file guessing" box, then a box with "doom2.wad" in the top half and a bunch of names in capitals in the bottom. The only way to get out of there is to close (X) the box; clicking on any one of the ALL-CAPS things and then clicking Edit boots me straight out of the program with no explanation. If you do close it, behind it there's some sort of debugging box which doesn't do anything. The only thing you can do from there is click File/Open, which brings up the same box as before. Where on earth is the help for this thing? It seems to come with a rather scant number of files.

    DoomServ not working

Indeed, it would appear to have zDoom support. Working fine! (though not many people there, even around 8pm)

Thanks, I will look into the "Connector".

    DoomServ not working

Greetings, everyone. The popular multiplayer program "DoomServ" does not seem to be working correctly for me. I got the patch-thingy, but a list of servers does not appear in the box when I start it up. When I try to login, it says I must choose a server. When I try to create a new user (which is what I must do to login) it still says that, but it also admits me to the registration. If I then fill it out and click Submit, the program quits with a strange error message. The link to the DoomServ webpage results in a Page Not Found, and all FAQs on the program assume you've actually gotten past the profile creation point. Also, all through the time the program is running, my firewall detects not even a single attempt to access the internet. (which I think it should be doing to get a server list) All I did was I got the 5.0 file, unzipped it into a temp folder and ran Setup, copied the OCX file, and then copied the patched "5.01" EXE over the old one. Where did I go wrong, and why does the handy-dandy website not exist?
