  1. I'll step up if needed. I got Slade under my belt I could definitely throw this together. Just a biiiiiit busy with school but I can get it done.
  2. [SUMMARY] After 6 years of creation and fine tuning, ideas added, put through the ringer, and scrapped, Alphatius is finally here. Inspired by Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament, Alphatius brings the Arena FPS genre to a new level in the Doom Engine. Currently featuring 7 fresh new weapons, with unique alt-fires, 19 maps, abilities, bot functionality and more, Alphatius brings new skills to the classic genre. Raspberry Pi 3B+ Doom Server Hosting (Odamex)

Never tried hosting odamex, however, running a Zandronum server on Raspberry Pi is quite easy. I use Ubuntu server with the server ARM build and it works astoundingly well.

Mapper's block and lack of confidence

If I may suggest some advice: don't let others' skill level with anything, (doom maps, competitive video games, art, etc) discourage you. Focus on improvement. Make a map, then make the next one better. Even though experienced mappers have probably put years into making maps, it's not about being as good as them, its about improving yourself (at least for me it is). And although I've struggled with my own motivation issues with maps recently, I know that in the past year of making CTF maps, my skill level has improved a lot. And knowing that, and hearing it from people I trust, it makes me proud of myself. And one more thing, something that I struggle with personally: Don't do it for others, do it for yourself. I had quit Doom recently because I struggled with pouring my energy into making maps for people who didn't play them. As I type this paragraph, I'm starting to have an epiphany that it may have been a mistake to do that. If you want to make good maps, you'll get there, it just takes time. Just enjoy the process, my dude. And don't let others (or the lack of others) bring you down.

EZDec - Create DOOM mods with ease!

Thank you all for the support and posts so far. I honestly didn't think much of the project at the time, but I'm glad to hear people want to use it. I might just stick with this project :P

EZDec - Create DOOM mods with ease!

No, sadly it does not :c
  7. Hi! Aura here! I wrote this program called EZDec, which is a Windows application that allows users to create Decorate code for zdoom-based ports with a simple GUI. It's a good start for people who have never made a Doom mod before, but are interested in toying around with it. Right now, its very early in development, but I plan on adding a lot of features to it. Currently, it creates a .pk3 file with your customized weapon in it. Some of the things you can do include: Making a pistol that fires at max speed. Making a shotgun chaingun. Firing an Imp fireball from a BFG Plasma Rifle firing revenant tracers What I plan to add: Fire rings/lines/other shapes of hitscans/projectiles/railguns Drag and drop custom sprites and apply offsets. Make your own projectiles (not just using Doom 2's) Make your own monsters. Support for all doom-engine games based on IWAD selection Randomly generate new weapons. Here's a picture of the GUI GITHUB https://github.com/auratoostronk/EZDec Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 DOWNLOAD https://github.com/auratoostronk/EZDec/releases Please leave me any feedbacks, comments, suggestions down below! If you see any bugs, report it to the Github link above!
  8. Hey! I'm Aura, and I'm looking for some passionate spriters and other team members to help me with a Doom mod. The mod doesn't exactly have a finalized name, but the premise is a team-oriented FPS with MOBA elements. I haven't gotten much of it done yet, but I do have another sweet mod that shows my modding skills called Alphatius: Deathmatch. I've posted it on zdoom forums here and while it hasn't received much attention, I do think the mod is worth a lot more than what it looks like at first glance. Anyways, the mod I need help with has a lot of different characters, each with their own weapons, and overall a lot of spriting needed. Also, it doesn't have any maps yet, as it is still very early in development, so mappers would be much appreciated. As far as the working environment goes I don't want to rush anyone; it'll be work at your own pace, and I just want a chill environment for everyone. If you're looking for a paycheck, you've come to the wrong place. However, if you are passionate about what you do, and want to spend some of your free time working on a sick mod, or even if you just want something to show off when it's completed, feel free to join. If you want to join, post some replies here showing off your sweet work for all to admire, and I'll be glad to invite some of y'all to join us. Peace out! -aura
