    Do you actually finish Megawads?

Couldn't have said it better myself, so I didn't try. :)
  2. Hmm, that's odd. I embedded the track on Soundcloud so it should be able to play from there. Here's the link to it on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/charoneclipse7/the-phobos-reanimation
  3. Excuse the shameless self-promotion, but a few years back in college, I arranged, recorded, and performed a medley of the MIDI tracks from Episode 1 of Doom in a progressive/symphonic metal style. You'll find themes from almost all the tracks in E1, in addition to some original added parts. Was performed live with a speed-run video of E1 displayed behind on a screen. Was pretty cool to have music from Doom played in an academic recital setting. haha. Here's the track on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/charoneclipse7/the-phobos-reanimation

    Levity In Doom Games

When I'm on a narrow, elevated pillar platform and I'm firing rockets ad nauseam across the room at a hoard of enemies, only to take a few steps back, forget where the ledge is, and fall - sending a barrage of rockets into the wall that is now 2 feet in front of my face. Good times. (Bonus points for letting out the over-the-top, comical death scream or getting gibbed)

    Best/Worst maps in TNT

Can't say I remember too many maps from TNT (off the top of my head, so I'll have to consult the Doom wikis), though I haven't played it nearly as many times as the other IWADs. Stand-outs for me are Map 6 for the atmosphere and creepy tone, Map 20 for the exploration, and Map 28 for the aesthetics and overall Casali goodness. Map 29 is pretty cool too (green marble is fun). Worst maps? Let's see, how much time do you have? :P Probably Maps 8, 11, 12, 19, 21, 22, and 27
  8. Echoing what Doomkid said, I'd recommend downloading Tuxguitar, which is a free tablature editing software (Guitar Pro 5 is great, but not free). Then go to Ultimate-Guitar.com and search any song you want. Find tabs that say "Powertab" or "Guitar Pro", download the file, open it with Tuxguitar, and export the file as MIDI. Kind of a lengthy process, but worth it considering Ultimate-Guitar has nearly any song you can think of.

    If you were Doom Guy

Well considering just one well-placed bullet from a measly zombieman would do me in, uh... gg, humanity.

    Popular/highly rated WAD's you're not a fan of?

While I can understand the almost unanimous dislike of this map, I have to say that I enjoy it. Yes, it's painfully flat, the gameplay is uninspired at times, and it's funky looking (which I actually enjoy), but I consider it to be a pretty decent breather map after the behemoth that was Map 20; it starts off the amazing, yet daunting hell episode of AV nice and easy, with a somewhat foreboding atmosphere courtesy of the MIDI and some the map details/body ornaments. It's not a great map. In fact if it were placed anywhere else in the wad, I may not regard it fondly... but I'm not averse to almost museum-like maps every once in a while to help give the wad some breathing room.

Best Megawad ever (In Your Opinion)

Alien Vendetta. Great mix of action, atmosphere, and adventure. Followed closely by Plutonia 2.
  12. Same. haha. I'll never save mid-battle, and will try not to save more than 5 times per map in a large map.
  13. I will predominantly play on UV, although if it's a notoriously difficult PWAD that I'm playing blindly, I'll bump it down to HMP. I've noticed that almost all veteran Doomers tend to play on UV... for different reasons that have been illustrated in this thread. However, I've never interpreted this as a real stigma against playing at lower difficulties - UV just seems to be the modern convention. What I do think is stigmatized is the use of quicksaving/loading. And while I understand why it's generally frowned-upon, I admit that I do it quite a bit in more difficult PWADs. In a perfect world, I could and would devote all the time I wanted to sharpening my skills enough to not rely on quicksaves; but in the real world, especially as I get older, I find I don't have the time in my day to die at the end of a long map, only to go back to the start. Whether I'm playing an unfamiliar PWAD or one I've played countless times, I aim to go through as many maps as I can with the time I have. And I choose to quicksave instead of bump down the difficulty to preserve the more challenging encounters; to experience the map more closely to how it was intended by the author. It may not make sense to others, but it doesn't steal any enjoyment out of the game from me. :)

What do you listen to when you're playing Doom?

Transcendent is a great word to describe Deathspell. Almost unlike anything I've ever heard. And while the solemn darkness of their music is contrasted heavily against the arcadey, sometimes cartoony nature of Doom, I think both offerings convey chaotic evil and a deep sense of dread quite well... hence why I occasionally enjoy them together.

    Popular/highly rated WAD's you're not a fan of?

Hell Revealed, Scythe I and II, Memento Mori 2, and Ancient Aliens. Not that I regard any of them as 'bad' mapsets, I just don't gel with the gameplay (Ancient Aliens, Scythe series), the map design and aesthetics (Memento Mori 2), or both (Hell Revealed).
