    Sorry I stopped playing the WADS for a minute. First off, dude, this is fucking sweet. I LOVE Kino Der Toten, and this is pretty spot on for Doom. It was just my difficulty level also. I also like the secret level, but you should have probably gave more rockets to fight a cyber demon lol. I also LOVED hearing 115. That was awesome. I love Elena Siegman! I ran out of ammo because i'm a dumb dumb so I just replayed the WAD. I agree with the final part. I like how it looks actually, the pyramid with the beam coming out of it is cool. There's just way to many enemies, it felt like a gang bang. It was a pretty fun fight though. Honestly, I want you to make more zombie maps! :D Also, instead of using demons, try to use zombies lol! I think there's a zombie sprite pack out there somewhere. 8/10! I'd give it a 9 but that last room really dropped it.

    I'm just now jumping on this but I was wondering if It was just me. Just loading a into this took me a few minutes. Why is it so slow?
  8. Like the title says, I have 4 questions. I'm using Ultimate Doom Builder in Hexen format. 1. How do I insert a custom sky texture? (Also, how do I make the sky texture work? It doesnt work the same as the same F_SKY or whatever it's called.) 2. How do I insert different music? 3. If I finish a WAD with different resources, will the resources already be in the .ZIP? 4/ How do I make custom text at the beginning of a level to explain a story?

    FUCK Nacogdoches. I lived in Little ol Troup for most of my life. I graduated there in 2017. I then moved to Whitehouse, and then I moved to Tyler with my girlfriend now wife.

    I moved from East Texas to Wisconsin last may, I'm pretty glad I did. I couldn't stand that damn heat anymore, however, I do miss my friends and family. I also miss BBQ. Damn, how I miss BBQ.
  13. Thank you all for responding. I took a few days off of making WADs. I came up with an idea that I enjoy, that is inspired by a game. I think one of my main problems is that I want to be a great known map maker. I want to be known in the DOOM community. I'm looking at the top of the staircase, and I'm not focusing on my next step. Again, thank you guys for all of your help. I'm taking all of your advice into careful consideration.
  14. Just about every WAD I've made has been inspired on or based on something else. (or I just remake someone's WAD, with permission of course.) The only WAD's I've made that aren't based on something are my first WADS. (Also a small section in a megawad). I can sit here all day and try to think of maps, but I always draw a blank. There's also so many gameplay mechanics and stuff that I feel like are blocking me. I try to scroll through the forums for inspiration, but then I get bummed out seeing everyone's awesome WAD's. I sometimes feel like I have to compete with others WADS or mine won't be good enough, or that I have a time crunch and that I need to push WADS out as fast as possible. Then I start to think "What's the point, nobody play's my WADS anyways." or "My WAD's are shit anyways." I feel like my creativity has been drained. I want to be more creative and come up with my ideas, but I just can't. I even try to just draw some stuff out in Ultimate Doom Builder, but then I don't like it, so then I get discouraged. I also try to literally draw my maps on some paper, but I always end up with about the same idea. I've tried playing WADS for ideas, but again I just come up with something that's inspired by something else. I know just about everything is inspired by something, but I want to make my own WAD without having to look at other WADS. I want to unlock my creative potential, but I just don't know how. I'm honestly getting pretty discouraged. I know this is just about WADS, but it's the only thing I feel like I'm actually decent at, so I take some pride in it. EDIT: I have been wanting to work on a MegaWAD, but I want to use custom sprites, textures, music, etc. I don't have a clue how to do any of that. I've dug around to see how I can get this stuff, but I came up empty handed. I'd really need a team to help work on it. Again, it's something that's just discouraging to me. I only bring this up because the Idea is inspired on something, but the level design and stuff would all be on me.

    It's not the entire game though. Like the start of Phobos in Eternal is great, it's not an arena. The second problem with 16 is that after you kill some enemies in the arena, you'd just walk to the next one. In eternal it challenges you with more enemies, and parkour. The game feels more like Doom with it's fluent movement I guess is what I'm trying to say.

    monster death actions

    I did it by just setting an door action to the demon, and then I used a sector tag. So if the demon is set to open a door with sector 1, i just put the door sector to sector 1. When it dies, the door opens. How you do it with multiple enemies? IDK.

    Eternal. However, I like the feel or the 16 Doom. Eternal is way to cartoony. The problem with the 2016 Doom is that it doesn't feel like Doom. It pits you in arena's that you're forced to fight in. You can't advance unless you kill everyone. Eternal still has this problem a few times, but it feels more like Doom. You can run through the levels if you want. Eternal is also a lot more open. Also, spite what everyone thinks, I enjoy the parkour sections. I don't enjoy stopping to kill an enemy with my chainsaw just to get ammo though. I feel like the Chainsaw is an optional weapon, it shouldn't be a game mechanic. It should almost be like the sword. It can be used to slay through small enemies, but you can only use it a couple of times. They should have done that, and then have the sword be able to rip through any demon. I hope the next doom incorporates Eternal and 16.

    He's asking about Doom 16 or Eternal. Anyone who comments Doom 2 or anything other then 16 or eternal isn't being funny tbh. Also, mostly everyone agrees that doom 64 is the best. I personally like the original Doom.

  21. I've asked about 4 or 5 people now, and they've explained it. The problem is it wouldn't work. As far as I know you have to have a sector the enemies in, and when they're awake they'll move towards the teleport and teleport into your area. The problem is that if the player kills all the enemies before, there's no reason to shoot and they'd be stuck. I'm sure after being stuck they might shoot around, but that would take away from the effect it's supposed to have. Please help, thanks!
  22. I've been using line defs with block sound on, but I'm working on a large indoor and outdoor area. Block sound only works for certain situations. I need a way to make enemies only attack one the player is in range. Thank you.
  23. I saw @Clippy play it on his YouTube channel and I love this WAD. I'm about to try it for myself. Like I commented, it reminds me of Redfaction 2 or the early stages of Halo 3. I was also wondering if I could use the texture pack you used? Also, how did you get the air to be brown? Maybe it's not the air but the effect of everything being brown, IDK.
  24. LOL I was actually going to tag you in this. In NUKAGE (The one WAD of mine you played) you are supposed to jump. I forgot to tell you! It was so painful looking at you look up at that ammo and go "Oh man, I really need that" LOL! I was like "Nooo! Jump up there and grab it!" but later you assumed you had to jump and i'm glad you did lol. That's crazy though, if someone wants to use freelook let them!
  25. I ALWAYS use freelook. I'm just so used to it now. I try to take it off every once and awhile though. I've never seen anyone actually get offended though, who's out here getting offended by that?? EDIT: I get pissed when people jump though. Jumping is bs. Unless I say to jump, don't jump.
