    The original Doom 3 textures were converted by hidfan. What im doing is using doom 3 original normal maps, creating new speculars from the converted textures and creating heightmaps from the normal maps.

    so just updated the parallax effect thanks to dpJudas for correcting my code. He said there were some calc mistakes. So it works correctly on walls and floors and looks even better. Also when you use a normal map make sure it opengl format and also you need to inverse your heightmap (black is top, white is bottom).     dpJudas updated how shaders work with materials now. So I took a snippet of his parallax example code and used that. Its just getting the height just right aswell and the heightmap generated correctly.     Ok so still no way near done been experimenting with parallax occlusion on top of the specular and normal maps. Doesnt look to bad Another video with a much better and cleaner heightmap used

    slowly lol. Decided to just go with specular and normal maps. metallic and roughness doesnt look right without a cube map environment.

    Doom3 recreation from scratch based on the nobbydoor texture. Both clean and dirty version. I also made a bump map and specular which doesnt look to bad in gzdoom. Just another one I had a crack at. Bit of practice to come up with my own set of textures I guess
  10. So its me again with more PBR textures. Im still in bits and bobs working on the doom 3 pbr ones. But decided to create some of my own textures with pbr. Im doing a cyber punk theme after playing DEX mod and thought why not. Anyway here is a short video with only a few textures.

    Not really much of an update. Been busy with real life stuff. But here is a short video of some other texture progress. All the textures are created by me, which is a painfully slow process what with all the pbr properties aswell lol.

    So been working and working rendering original images out in 3D then photshop edit for doom palette, but I wouldnt mind peoples opinion on this. With the limited doom palette and plus I want to use most of GZdoom features aka the PBR should I forget the palette colour as with the doom 3 textures there are alot of green and blue that dont convert so good.     Just an update. Restarting the textures over again. Been using C4D to render them out to get proper lighting, then taking them into photoshop with colour tweaks. On top of that then doing all the normal/metallic/roughness/AO. But yeah going slow but still cracking on :D.

    To many lol. Working on each folder at a time for doom3. Ive also started to look at doom 2 textures. So far the doom 2 textures are looking good although I am having to create my own normal maps by hand which is long drawn out task unlike doom 3 which already has them. Doom 3 just requires me to create a roughness and ambient occlusion texture and tweak the specular which in turn becomes the metallic texture.

  18. So created a nice blood texture for my pit. Added warp to it no problem. Its pbr but the warp does not take effect on the pbr materials. Is there something I need to change in the ANIMDEF. Ive tried warp material but it does not work. Any ideas?. Thanks

    Thank you so much. After a tinker and loading in a seperate pk3 with my sprites folder and fog sprites worked a treat. Will be reworking the fog sprites better because they look abit crap at the moment. But seriously thank you so much. I will post a video of it once I set it up. Thanks.

    Doom PBR Textures

    Hi all first post here. Just got back into Old Skool gaming again and started messing around with gzdoom builder. Having loads of fun experimenting. But Ive been reading up on the whole PBR textures. Im not asking how to create them but how to actually get them into gzdoom builder and working. Might sound like Im stupid here, ive read other topics on this matter and still cant understand how. Maybe its because Im new to all this but any step by step guides/tutorials/videos would be great. Maybe I am asking to much but hey doom is just to good. Thanks.
