[UPDATED 5/20/23] Doom 64 Restoration Patch (2020 Remaster)
ASON-Z- replied to OpenRift's topic in Mods & Resources
I tried reinstalling the patch and it still remains unchanged. I wonder if any of the files are conflicting with one another. I've got Sound Bulbs HQ sounds installed along with the Bandither retro shader. Though I don't know how those would mess with the order of the tracks. I had to edit the Doom64.kpf file with SLADE and replace the "localization" and "progs" folders with the provided ones in the Bandither zip. Maybe this provides some sort of helpful info? -
[UPDATED 5/20/23] Doom 64 Restoration Patch (2020 Remaster)
ASON-Z- replied to OpenRift's topic in Mods & Resources
Hope this is worth a thread bump, but it seems that the "Endgame" track plays during the stats screen instead of the "Stats Screen" track. Not too sure why though. Everything was installed correctly btw. -
Does anyone know how to get the actual n64 soundtrack working with this version of Doom 64?

Who would you like to play as Doomguy in an actual competently made Doom movie? Personally, I wouldn't mind the Rock. He's built for it, and he can stay covered with armor the whole movie.

Disturbingly realistic Doomguy...

Arachnotron death sound. The brain getting blown up and shutting down. Baron death sound. Its distinctive cry of pain. Revenent death sound. CRUNCHY Mancubus death sound. Its head getting split open and its body starts melting. And the glorious Super Shotgun blast! Hell I love all the sounds!

Not sure if its universal or maybe its just me, but Crispy Doom seems to be much more quite compared to Woof, even on the highest sound volume.

PsyDoom 1.1.1 - PSX Doom port (reverse engineered) for PC

Are there any plans to implement widescreen support for the classic renderer? Or is that even possible? -
Morph Sound 64 'enhancement' for Doom 64 EX, Retribution, GEC Master Edition, and Nightdive's Re-release
ASON-Z- replied to Immorpher's topic in WAD Releases & Development
Could you explain to me how to use this with the Doom 64 remaster a little more specifcally? I put the Wads in my Doom 64 directory and added "-file MorphSound64 1.0.wad -file MorphMusic64 1.1 beta.wad" into my launch options. Nothing is changed in game. I am clearly doing something wrong here. -
Bandither - A Retro Shader for GZDoom, FTEQW, Doom 64, and ReShade
ASON-Z- replied to Immorpher's topic in WAD Releases & Development
I hope DirectX 11 in the Doom 64 Remaster gets support soon. Running it in Open GL runs terribly from my end. -
As anyone who has bought the game off GOG or Steam should know, those versions really SUCK. A Windows 95 restoration patch was made to fix it, but even that's a pain in the scrotum. It's not always guaranteed to work. Usually it doesn't even start up at all. I've had the game in my library for over 3 years and have had no luck whatsoever in past said years. I've actually had to rely on an admittedly great port on Android. But I hate having a game in my library that I can't even enjoy properly. If there's anybody here who gives fuck all about Carmageddon and has any valuable info, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Are there still plans for Crispy Doom compatibility? Or is it out of the picture completely? -
Build Engine Widescreen Assets Appreciation Thread
ASON-Z- replied to OpenRift's topic in Everything Else
Now this is interesting. I put the Shadow Warrior contents into my VoidSW directory and the weapon sprites seem to work, but the widescreen versions of the title screen and HUD don't appear to show up as intended. -

That Blood hud is clean! You wouldn't happen to have a download link for that puppy would you? Oh and the Shadow Warrior stuff says it can't be downloaded securely. -

Is there a way to trim Ogg's with Slade and then convert them into a Wav format?

What was the first Doom source port you have used?
ASON-Z- replied to Lizardcommando's topic in Doom General
GZDoom was my first sourceport I ever used. Mainly because of how easy it was to set up and instantly play. Nowadays I use more vanilla accurate sourceports like Crispy Doom or Woof with Doom Launcher. I still occasionally use GZDoom if a certain mod or wad requires it. -
Title says it all. Does anybody know just where I can find it? I've heard it in various playthroughs of classic Doom. I'd like to use it as a replacement for the standard notification sound.

Gotcha will do

Not sure if this has been stated before, or maybe its just my own problem.. I'm using an SC-55 soundfont, and seems to work just fine, except for a weird slowdown at the start of every song that plays. Anyways the main problem I'm having is that I can't change the volume at all with my soundfont, even when set to zero, the music will play full volume. I have to manually set the volume in my VirtualMIDISynth software. Its not a huge hassle to do so, but I did notice it.
