Oh, great stuff. The Doom community is indeed pumping out some quality content and quite a lot of it, too. It would be nice to be more informed about all those nice releases.

So, I still have no black gloves. And no black gloves option. But, the gibbing framerate issue seems to have been improved and maybe even resolved. Have to further test it to be sure, but it runs way better. Amazing work, thank you so much. Smooth Doom is just the best. Best gore, best animations, best death variety, etc. Brutal Doom is just nonsense imho.

I have to thank you greatly for this update, since I have never even seen the black gloves in action! Finally I can see them in action. Smooth Doom is one of my most favourite mods ever (next to the 2x Neural Upscale) and I try to play as many WADs with it, as possible. When I am at it; Sometimes, when I gib a lot of enemies (or only Mancubi, not sure) my frames drop to around... 5. The interesting or funny thing about this is, that it never stops and even quitting and reloading a save doesn't bring the framrate up again. Any guess what this could be?

Jump back to 1996 where I was very much into metal, especially black and death metal. I found a CD in my town‘s CD store (!) and the music sounded very strange but nice. (metal-archives.com categorizes it as „dark ambient neo-classical“. Yeah, you gotta love metal sub-genres...) And well, the band‘s name was of course „elend“ which is german for „misery“, although the band itself is from france. It described my state of mind just perfectly at that time and it was sweet and short as well. After all these years I still like it and most of my friends (on- or offline) still call me that.

You update them quicker than I can check them out ok my laptop. Very well done, great work. This is one of my favourite mods ever!

I was thinking about, what I like about other games‘ boss battles. What I like best are bosses that have three or more clearly distinguishable attack patterns, which you can learn and thus eventually evade. Since you can‘t evade the SMM‘s hitscans it probably needs some other kind of „gap“ in its attack. Maybe a reloading animation. At this moment it‘s rather safe to attack him, albeit not with a BFG and — more interestingly — only from a short distance. (Maybe it has some kind of „shield“ deployed). The suspense would be in anticipating the end of this gap and rapidly retreating and looking for cover again. Having the SMM walk around and maybe be able to destroy cover (!) would make it additionally challenging.

You crank'em out like crazy! I must say, I really like the colors in this one. It's so crazy and over the top, that it... almost makes sense.

So, I am new to DW and "Jimmy" is the artist behind some (not all?) of the BTSX E1 and E2 midis, right? Well, if that's the case I almost love all of his work. BTSX (along with Exomoon) emerged has some of my favourite music tracks ever. That's not only limited to Doom WADs or videogames even. Can't wait to discover more great music, via all the suggestions in this thread.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. So many great screenshots, it's just... wonderful. Why do I like Doom screenshots so much? What I want to say is: Don't stop posting them, even though I can't and won't comment on every single one of them. I just don't want to spam this thread with vapid comments.

@hidfan That is some real great wuality actually. Sooo, once the Neural Upscale is finsihed, you‘ll work on this kind of highress style for Doom‘s sprites? :D ! Love the painterly quality of it, instead of the „smeary oil“ look most blurry upscales have.

Ohhh, we have a pet thread? Lovely cats in here. We have 3 of them ourselves, all of them rescued from the streets of China. The black one is called Xiaomi (小咪), the brown one is Dami (大咪) and both are siblings. The grey one is Xiao Niannian (小粘粘) and joined our family just last year.
