    Dark Encounters

Played first chapter (MAPS 1 ~ 11) in UV and the rest on HMP. The first chapter of this megawad sucks because of lack of ammo/good weapons. For example, the first sign of SSG is in MAP 07 and in maps like 03/04/05 there're more than 200 enemies, meaning the player must rely in shotgun/chaingun only to kill cacodemons, revenants and hellknights. The second and third chapter of the megawad is way better, the ammo is more abundant making the gameplay looks more good. But, in general the author is very stingy with powerups; rarely in maps you'll come across a megasphere or even soulsphere, and that on HMP. Overall there're better options of megawad with a lot of monsters but way more balanced (ammo and items-wise) as EvilTech, Zones of Fear or Good Morning Phobus.
Legendary megawad. Certainly one of of best 5 I've ever played. All maps after 11 are huge, with a lot of monsters (about 600 average, but some have more than 1k), intricate but not overly confuse design and challenging gameplay. It's a MUST play if you, like me, love these kind of maps. But keep in mind 2 things about this megawad: some maps could take more than 1 hour to beat and MAP 34 is a bit unfair due to the amount of archviles.

    H2H-Xmas.wad

This one is a good megawad. It's indeed overpopulated with revenants (e.g = in map 12 there're 165/map 14 - 115, etc) but the authors give enough weaponry for deal with them then it's alright. The only complaint I have is some maps could use more monsters, as some maps have below 50. Play it only if you don't mind the overwhelming quantity of revenants in some maps.

    Hellbound

Hellbound is a huge megawad comprised of several different scenarios such as tech bases, big cities, sewers, hellish maps and so on. I found it overall very challenging and took about 13 hours to beat it. The things I've liked on this megawad were: big maps with tons of enemies (some maps features over 500 monsters), a lot of ammo through the maps and NOT cramped gameplay which is a plus for me. The things I haven't liked: Map 25 sucks hard, shitty progression and very confuse; the majority of archvile enconters are unfair: they're used without cover for the player, teleporting instant and dealing unavoidable damage. My favorites maps were = 14, 16 and 31. Overall, I recommend this wad to anyone who likes a challenge and don't mind big maps, some lasting more than 30 minutes to complete.

    Enjay Zdoom 2001

I had a blast with this one! There wasn't a single map I didn't enjoy as all the maps were well crafted, the fights were nice and there're some minor ZDOOM features added on the maps (like diving into the water among other things). The difficulty is easy to a experienced player but it's very fun. I recommended this wad to those that want a more relaxed gameplay.

    Ultimate Doom 2

I've agree with the Guest user that said it was "Fairly Average". That's it.

    Phouse: "The great arena"

I completed the whole megawad in only 36 minutes. The same arena is repeated over 30 times but there're not armor and no BFG in any of the maps. The authour could at least add/change some items to make it less boring. There's no design as the maps are the same over and over. It would be wise to just avoid it altogether.

    Castle Doom

Unlike many people that reviewed this megawad, I've like it. The levels are well made and not confusing, the battles are fine and there're enough ammo. If I could made one complaint would be that some maps need more monsters, but overall it's a fine megawad.

    Illuminatus v1.0.0

The amount of backtrack in this megawad is staggering! Even using idclip to somewhat mitigate the backtrack while going to the switchs it took me about 15 hours to finish the whole megawad. This is the only bad thing because the gameplay is very good with huge maps and high monster count. If you like huge maps and don't mind the switching hunt for progress give it a whirl, you won't regret.

    Memento Mori II

I fail to see why people praise this megawad. A lot of maps are cramped and confused and also the authors (in almost all maps) restrict the player with low ammo for rocket and plasma making you rely on SSG to kill barons, that's just boring. One of few good maps is 32 and the worst maps are: 22, 27 and 29 but there're more.

    Dsv

A great megawad but I'll have to deduct 1 star due to 2 flaws IMO: first: use of stealth monsters, they're just a cheap way to create artificial dificult and they really aren't needed. Second: some switches needed to progress some maps are in secret spots, and if you don't find the secret you can't progress, this is just bad design. Aside for those flaws I liked the megawad, would recommended.

    Good Morining Phobos

This is a pretty hard megawad on UV due to the big amount of chaingunners and archviles in almost all maps. Either you play very cautiously or you'll be blazed or shredded very quickly. If you're not an elite player you'll certainly need saves in order to beat some maps. Aside of the difficult, I found these maps to be very fun and excellent crafted, the author did a good job! Overall I recommend it for everyone who likes a great challenge, but play on HMP if you want a less intense experience.

    The Vilecore

Vilecore is a easy difficulty megawad with a lot of incidental combat and almost no traps, which I find interesting. When you get a key or press a switch nothing happens, unlike the vast majorities of megawad I've played. The monster count varies between 150 ~ 280 in all the maps and I haven't found any bad map throught the whole megawad. Some players won't like the incessant pursuit for switches to progress but I don't mind them as long they aren't confusing to figure out which is fortunately the case with this megawad. Doom_Dude did a great job with these maps and I would recommend for a beginner or intermediate skill player, as expert players could find this one boring due to low threat of death.

    Zones of Fear

One of best megawads I've ever played. This one has it all: huge maps, high monster count in every map, epic fights and the most important aspect for me, the gameplay is excellent: only 2 maps I found a bit confuse (namely map 22 and 26), all the others were fine. Recommended!

    Moonblood

Overcomplicated piece of garbage. Avoid it at all costs, unless you're a fan of puzzley pwad, all the gameplay revolves around it every map. As I don't like very confuse levels my rating is 1 (I'd volte 0 if I could).
