You should DIE if you fall off the world.

    Just substitute "death" with "failure"?

My feelings on DOOM Eternal in London

Hey man. I was at Quakecon London too. I was playing at the same timeslot as yourself. Were you in the "hell" booth or the "cafe" booth? I was in the latter. I not going to respond to each point you make and at the end of the day, we all have different tastes and ideas of what Doom should be. I loved all the over-the-top floating objects (question marks, gold coins, etc) makes the whole experience very "video gamey" and not taking itself too seriously. Even Marty and Hugo have said this is the direction they are taking the franchise and I feel it's for the better. Helps it stand out from the ultra-serious AAA FPS games we get nowadays. About the player speed. You know we can now dash in this game? Again, quoting Marty and Hugo, they said that having 2016 movement speed with the dash ability actually broke the gameplay. They had to change things up to make the whole experience refined. In term's of the FOV, I found it alright to play at 90 but I do find it odd how the options had mouse sensitivity and controller sensitivity but no fov options.

As someone who got to play the demo. Apart from dying a couple of times in the final arena, all my deaths prior to that were from the platforming sections. This is coming from someone who actually enjoys platforming sections in FPS games. Perhaps on harder difficulties, you could respawn at the last checkpoint instead of the last platform you jumped from.

I played the Mars Core demo ... a lot

Got to play the demo at the London Quakecon and enjoyed it a lot. It felt like a natural progression from 2016. Apparently it was on medium difficulty but felt like it was nearer something like ultra-violent. Cacodemons (and actually most returning enemies) felt far stronger than in the previous game. The whole experience seems well tuned. Rushed through the tutorial to get more game time and wasn't aware of what was my flamethrower gauge and all that. Final arena shown in demo kicked my ass. Died 3 or 4 times (after losing all my 1-up's). Didn't actually get to finish it. BUG ALERT: Esc key wasn't working, perhaps something to do with having a controller plugged in? Asked a member of staff over to fix it but caused another bug with the game pausing rapidly. Staff call over one of the tech heads who accused me of alt-tabbing but I had the staff member back me up. All in all very impressed and looking forward to getting the game on release

    Sikkmod platforming issue w/ video

Cheers for responding, Running in Sikkmod does feel slower to me but that could also be down to FOV? As shown in my video I can do platforming effortlessly. I just change player movement in sikkmod menu when any platforming sections appear.

    Sikkmod platforming issue w/ video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0NW_I0vhKM heres the link embedded
  7. I've completed Doom 3 previously but never played using sikkmod, started a new game, all is fine. Until I got to alpha labs sector 4. I made a video of the issue I'm having, I start by paying vanilla Doom 3 to show I can complete the platforing part 1st time. I then boot up sikkmod and show you how I cannot complete this sectio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0NW_I0vhKM It's as if doomguy isn't going fast enough when sprinting. Is this a known bug in sikkmod? There is an option in sikkmod to increase the player speed to doom1+2 but I wanna keep it at Doom 3 speed
