What view is valid? What do YOU want to happen to trans people? Why don't you come out and just say it, coward.

In response to "all the devs aren't bad people": Of course they're not. This is one or two people who seem to be at the top of the organization and thus have no accountability to anyone. But they are using the publicity and funding they gain to enable a community that is clearly founded on repugnant principles. Everything is political these days precisely because these people are going to flock to the game and use it as a symbol. If it is successful, they claim it as a victory for their "side". This is the nature of a "culture war". Remaining neutral and saying nothing all too easily becomes tacit approval. I feel really bad for the decent people working there right now. Personally if I worked there and found out these things about the people who own/run the company, I would leave and burn the bridge behind me, but not everybody has that privilege obviously.

Cool derail. I'm not a communist. You're the one that seems to care if people want to play the game or not. I couldn't give a flying fuck what they think after the way they've been acting.

I think we can guess what you'd say about it without you saying anything at all. Wow yeah it's exactly like that. It's exactly like it in every way, except completely opposite. Nazis were the oppressors on the wrong side of history. Nazis rounded up gays and transgender people, which is exactly what people like these voidpoint owners want to see happen to anybody they hate. I am a free person too and I never want anything to do with hateful chuds that want to do harm to people who are my friends just because they were taught hatred or because they have such miserable lives that they spend them trying to pull other people down. I don't support such people with my money or my fandom.

    Doom: Annihilation update

I like how the designs draw a bit from the different incarnations of Doom. For example, the imp-like monsters have multiple eyes like the Doom 3 version, but have them glowing red like the classic imp. Nice nods all around everything. I am looking forward to it more and more.
  6. The TLDR is: Wolfenstein Youngblood, like pretty much any game, has a lion's share of issues that need addressing in a patch. But out of all such issues, the only one they rushed a patch out for ASAP is a "fix" to the game that disables a method of unlocking microtransaction items without paying for them.

    Betruger's swapped eye

While it was almost certainly a modeling mistake that was just kept in the end, I feel it's a bit poetic, given Betruger's transformation. What he was blind to as a mortal he now sees, but has lost vision of mortality at the same time.
  8. Physical distribution is a very small part of the market now and is not nearly the major cost sink you're making it out to be. The most physical sales now are for special and collectors' editions, and the huge markup on the plastic junk stuffed into them well more than already pays for it. Good thing I am not talking about small indies here, huh? It's AAA publishers that plead poverty while putting exploitative microtransactions into their games. That say games are "too expensive" while making billions of dollars off of them. I don't know any individual developers that get paid royalties. Are you talking about the studio's split of sales? This is not true. All of Nightdive's titles on Switch are self-published. I think you forgot to whom you speak here. Nobody needs multi-million dollar marketing campaigns to sell the next CoD. This is an elective cost source, one that could easily be scaled back at this point. Publishers exist to monopolize the market to the greatest extent they can. They buy up studios for the IPs and then shut them down, reducing competition for their own in-house grindfest drivel market-tested to appeal to the lowest common denominator with which they flood the market. Plenty of other smaller studios make money without exploiting people like this. I belong to one of them. How's that? You're going to be singing a different tune in November.
  9. Microtransactions do not pay a game's programmers, and are not necessary to do so. AAA publishers that plead poverty are one of the most oxymoronic things in the world, as they rake in literally billions of dollars in profit, and then lay off employees immediately after posting record income. Some of them have CEOs who could personally afford to pay every other employee's salary out of their own, for life, and not feel a pinch. Microtransactions are a predatory way to extract money from people with addiction issues, first and foremost. This is proven; companies have admitted as much on video at their conferences. So, please don't mindlessly help spread propaganda like "games cost too much to make." It is bullshit now and always has been bullshit.
  10. This in particular is caused by trying to scale each post from the patch separately from the top to the bottom and from left to right. You have to be more sophisticated and scale based on the graphic size from the middle using a frac/fracstep sort of system. Eternity Engine had this problem in ancient versions and looked almost identical.

    Is Final Doom Canon???

As per Brandon James, it immediately follows Doom II, and is part of the "cleanup" phase of reclaiming Earth from the demons.

    QuakeCon 2019

In the wake of the announcement there will be lots of Doom "stuff" at QC this year, I've finally made my mind up to make the trip. Anybody else planning on being there?

    Eternal possibly removes the pistol?

Don't worry. I'm sure if it's not in the base game, you'll be able to buy it from the UAC Store for Argent credits, or Bethesda Bucks, or whatever they call 'em.

Will it make enemies get big bugged out googly eyes when you shoot them? :P

    Eternal possibly removes the pistol?

The entire purpose of the Argent Energy Tower is to extract and package Argent energy for use on Earth and throughout the solar system, as is stated in several in-game codex entries, hologram speeches, etc. When Samuel himself says, "We solved an energy crisis that the world had no answer for," he's specifically referring to Earth. The energy sent there is the blue, supposedly purified form of the energy, but the game seems to hint that there is really no completely safe process and that the UAC is either deluded, or is deliberately concealing the risks.

    The Music...

This was confirmed after it happened; series of tweets and Instagram posts put up by Mick and by participants had photos of the choir stage lit with red lighting and decorated with candles and pentagrams, and Mick wrote "RIP AND TEAR" on a whiteboard at some point. In fact, I believe you are already hearing some of the results in the post-BE3 trailer; there is clearly live-recorded lyrics going on in the background music and it sure ain't singing of the ordinary variety.

    Doom Eternal E3 - Sunday 5:30 PDT

Good catch, although it could just be similar armor because it comes from the same culture, so we'll have to wait and see. Definitely strengthens the idea that the Marauder may be the Betrayer, though. Or maybe the Betrayer's son. Perhaps the king or lord there is the father who bargained for his return, and the Marauder is what he got back.
  19. It's the Year of DOOM! Seems like a record number of Doomers will be in attendance. Going to the BYOC? Name your spot. Just going to be there? Feel free to say "hi." I will be there from the 24th to the 29th. BYOC Section B, Row 6, Seat 26

SIGIL v1.21 - New Romero megawad [released!]

Apparently the player needs to go over there, but if they have >= 100% health they'd have no reason to do so (can't pick up a stimpack). By making it health potions, they're more useful (up to 200%) and are also required for 100% item collection.

Early and unused DOOM 64 Level Designs

I found this early PSX Doom beta preview in GamePro a few days ago, and I'm curious what level is pictured here.

SIGIL v1.21 - New Romero megawad [released!]

I got notification that the shipping label had been printed on Friday. Fair enough that it didn't make any progress as of yesterday considering Monday was a holiday. But now it has sat there ALL DAY without anything happening. I am getting angry.

    Nightdive Teasing Blood

Sure. But we know a lot of studios are just grindhouses, too. It's going to naturally vary and it usually shows in the end product.
