    Backwoods: mod for Doom 2

    New version available. Still not completely finished but contains five completed levels. Level six, while for the most part complete, does not contain an exit (there's somewhat of a boss fight than nothing) and is pretty bare bones aesthetically. The reason I'm putting this out now is because I'm going to be pretty busy with work stuff and won't have much time to work on this so I wanted to put out what I had before going dark for a little while. changes include many aesthetic improvements to levels four and five and a brand new level six. Remember to launch both wad files at the same time!

    Yeah, I plan on making more cartoony textures to fit with the rest of the custom assets. I just want to get the levels finished, or at least to a point where they’re beatable, first.

    working on the sixth level of a mod called Backwoods. this is the level where you get the BFG. I wanted to wet your apatite for it early on in the level and let you see it's destructive force so I put in a window early on that lets you glimpse the trail of destruction it leaves behind.

    Damn, now try firing and reloading as fast as doomguy. This is an awesome piece of craftsmanship worthy of the slayer

    I was about 2 years old when I first got on my parents computer and played Wolfenstein 3D. Probably not the best thing for a 2 year old to be playing but I was hooked ever since.

    PRE-ALPHA VERSION 0.000000001 RELEASED! This is still a very early work in progress but I wanted to get an early version out there before I get swamped with work for the next month or so. Levels 2 and 3 are a bit rough but I hope you'll enjoy the mod. keep in mind that stuff like the original doom monsters are only temporary, I plan to replace them with custom monsters when I have more time. the super weapon found in level 3 will not be there in the final game.

    Thanks! Yeah, I’m currently in the process of changing that hell knight and the mancubuses later on to something more theme appropriate.

    What do you look for in a Doom map?

    I really hate reloading in mods unless the gameplay is built around it. I feel like a lot of new modders put in reloading because it’s an easy thing to add and makes you feel like you’ve made a significant change, never mind the fact that it kills the pacing and gets in the way of combat.
