    well i think that for some reason d4v + new weapons (new weapons actually) are not compatible with mbf/boom or any boom ms-dos sourceport , sadly . I've tried edge ,eternity , MidDoom 0.03 , Vavoom 1.25 with no avail , the only ms-dos where the vortex is working is Smack My Marine Up 3.30 , but for some reason there's no General Midi support =/ . guess i'll have to play it on "normal" dosbox instead

    sadly it didn't fully work , i can shoot (only 1 bullet is taken) but then all weapons became the "2 barrel shotgun" , if i start swaping weapons eventually they will start working again , so i guess that for some reason vortex is not working on mbf or boom =S

    the only problem i've found so far , is with the new weapons , if i load vortex.deh after shooting i end up with no weapons (and i cant select any other , not even fists) The only way to make new weapons work on mbf2.04 (boom 2.02 also) is by exporting and deleting the dehacked file inside d4v.wad and then loading d4v.wad -deh 0_d4v,deh + all other deh files (or *.deh if i want to load all of them) , if not all weapons will start firing (and they will remain firing forever) or wont fire at all (pistol) =( . new weapons work flawlessly using doom2.exe

    you can manually fix that , just drop the d4v.deh into d4v.wad (using slade) and rename the file to dehacked ,save and you are done =)

    about Marine Best Friend is an MS-DOS Source port ,you would either need a real dos machine or dosbox . If you want a windows sourceport just keep using crispy doom. You can use the 16:10 aspect ratio (actually the real aspect ratio of the game) but it will force an almost fullscreen mode , you can force a 1920x1080 by editing the crispy doom cfg , but the end result is an uneven streched image . I would'n go for a 1920x1080 resolution to play classic doom , in fact i use a 320x200 on dosbox (original resolution + hardware scaler x5) and 1600x1000 with integer scaling set to 1 for both chocolate doom and crispy doom Here is how it looks with my config I really dont like gzdoom , i just have it for testing purposes , not for gameplay , i also don't like brutal doom . Crispy doom seems to be the source port that matches your preferences while keeping the OG doom experience

    WOW , this is really a HUGE upgrade to an already great MOD , by far the best gameplay mod created for doom , and the most important to me , vanilla compatible =) i'm super happy , thank you !!

    fscythe.wad is the one you need , d4vf only fixes the the way the fists are displayed , if you drag and drop your pwads make sure to select scythe and fscythe , if you have your own menu using .bat files the line should look like this gzdoom -iwad doom2.wad -file scythe.wad fscythe.wad d4v.wad assuming you have all your wad files on the same folder I've tested it on gzdoom 4.2.0

    i get some warnings , no erros , and i can finish the level without any problem, once everything explodes and you die the level finishes and i can start level 11, tested on zdoom 2.7.1 with scythe + fscythe + d4v +d4v "fist fix "

    About deleting p1_start to p_end , the problem is that I don't see any files in between . But I did change the texture size on all pwads and now it works , my question is do I have to load the default pwad when not using d4v??? Wow i can`t beleive what i've just done , i wasn't being able to modify tnt.wad since it's an iwad , so i did a little research and found that i can turn an iwad into a pwad for editing purposes , i did so , modify tnt wad (asuming that the textures files to modify were all related to the waterfall ) and now its working =) , so i now have all my pwads running with d4v.wad and i've learnt how to apply patches and edit textures , yay (^_^)

    A)Didn't work or i didnt delete all needed files B) after several tries i kinda fixed it using this method (i've deleted zimmer8 texture from d64d2 wad and it runs , the texture only showed a grey 128x128 "image" ) Thank you C)Using the modified doom2.exe included in with the mod fixes this issue , but not for all wads unfortunately (and i still get the same message but that doesn't prevent the game from loading ) ultra weird now i kinda learned how to apply patches on a wad , THANK YOU =) its weird since its working with doom2.exe , by using the modified exe i was able to fix almost all of the mentioned wads , i'm still having problems with this ones (i load it with fd64d2 and still get the same error , this doesn't dissapear when using the doom2.exe , but the game starts and runs fine ) Scythe X (visplane error with doom2.exe , but this one should work with Marine Best friend i guess) community chest 4 (mbf error column without a patch in texture sky2 , pipewal1 , rock8) doesn't load with doom2.exe since its not a vanilla compatible THT: Threnody (Doom2.exe error W_CacheLumpNum 17741 >= numlumps |MBF error column without a patch in wfall1 up to wfall4) i will try to manually patch or delete those textures and see if can make them work on mbf ultimate doom2 is not vanilla , but since its running on mbf it should run with d4v also , nova.wad is not vanilla and i can play it using d4v.wad

    i found an issue with this mod while trying to play (on marine best friend 2.04 using dosbox) this wads doom 2 64 (d64d2.wad) Scythe X Memento Mori Flashback to Hell Community Chest 4 THT: Threnody Revilution wads TNT Evilution i get this message "column without a patch in texture" + different file names depending on the wad here is an example with doom64 (d64d2.wad) The Ultimate Doom 2 just simply crashes after starting the first level (i cant even move and it crashes) . This also happens on chocolate doom (runs perfectly on crispy doom and gzdoom) =(

    you need to press that switch (the other one reveals a secret on the other room , a green armor) . If you stand near the key before pressing the switch it will lower down forever , but you can still press both switches .

    this mod wors with almost every port i've tested it so far (only port that "crashes" is zdoom v1.17c for DOS , but i dont care since there is no music on that version and won't play doom withou being able to emulate a roland sc ) . With that being said , it works flalessly on gzdoom . Chocolate and crispy doom run this mod with no issues , your keyboard/mouse options must be set using the chocolate/crispy-doom-setup.exe i'm using my own .bat menu for dosbox/crispy and chocolate and even gzdoom ,but i've tested your included .bat file and it works flawlessly , using your modded doom2.exe ,boom and mbf 2.04 "sigil edition" sourceports as well. it's included on both gog and steam versions

    that's a known issue with the mod when you play ultimate doom , it soft-locks the game on those levels , but the rest of the game is fully playable , i think it's an issue with spider mastermind and cyberdeamons not triggering the ending of each level =( . i don't know if there's going to be a fix (remember that this mod was made for Doom2 ) you can do it by yourselft , open the wad using slade , delete all the midi files (35 files) and then save and enjoy =)
