Like many have said before, it really depends on the person, although I personally don't play with freelook anymore, I see it's appeal. But I will never restrict someone of using it, especially in a wad, that would and in my opinion, betray the people who play maps made by me, I have only one rule for playing doom: Do what thou wilt.

Might as well give a list since picking one would be redundant. Favorites: Half life, mother 3, doom 2, fallout 1&2, castlevania games, kof, yakuza 0. Least favorites: Shenmue, sonic heroes, sonic colors, mother 1, indie rpgs, doom 3, kof maximum impact 1&2, all three castlevania lords of shadow games, mgs5, saints row 4, metroid other m, yakuza 3&4, trials of mana, halo 2, sonic adventure 1&2.

I didn't really notice most of the changes at first, but then I saw that the blurple that I was accustomed to was missing, in favor of a more generic blue color. It seems like they want to distance themselves from the whole gamer thing, but ironically, the logo looks more like a controller then the older one did, which makes it a rather half-baked attempt in my opinion. I can live with the new look, but there is a rather vocal minority which can't handle said change, thankfully most people ignore them. Overall, the discord "rebrand" isn't really an issue for me, although I will miss the old color and font, I can appreciate the thought that they put into it; I do wish that they would tackle some of the rather questionable servers and their content, but If they can do it one at a time, that would be fine as well, but maybe in the future, only time can tell.

As an off topic thing, personally, I think most args are very mediocre at best, but enough about args. On topic: A rabbit hole I went down once was when I looking up recipes for something, only to go down a hole of strange asian cooking channels.
