    [WAD] The Vanilla Base

    For the anniversary of Doom, I've made a vanilla map in the vein of Episode 4 and NRFTL. Runs on any port (even DOS) but has PS1 style colored lighting if ran in GZdoom. No jump, no crouch, freelook allowed. Enjoy! Screenshots: GZ: Choco: Download (Google Drive)

    Mapper's block and lack of confidence

    Mods, sorry if this doesn't belong here, feel free to move it if necessary. After playing some of the most highly regarded wads out there (BTSX, Syringe, Eviternity, Alien Vendetta, etc...) for inspiration and to get a grasp on good design, I've been doubting my own mapping skill. I've been unable to make even a single room for a solo project and it feels like the few good maps I've made before have been flukes. Is this something that most mappers go through or am I just worrying too much? Any advice is appreciated.

    The map I've made requires at least a limit raising port. While I could probably trim the visplanes down to vanilla, the drawsegs are different story.

  15. It's been a while, I honestly forgot. What should I swap those out with then? EDIT: I'm swapping the plasma gun with the gauntlets to keep the lightning effect.
