  1. I've had varying headache for about 3 weeks now, along with problems with vision.

Had my head scanned finally today, they found something that does not belong at the back of my head.

Can't say what it is exactly yet from the pictures, but it's most likely metastasis of the sarcoma that ran off with my arm last year. Bugger doesn't want to give up that easily it seems, and is back with a vengeance.

Going to Helsinki sometime next week, and they're probably going to operate on it right away. At least I hope so.

Damn Espi you were around for a long time, I think when I joined you were here (under old account that got moron'd, heh).

I extend my condolences to all of your friends and family. It was honestly coincidence that I saw your obit here on Doomworld (I never hit up the forums anymore) but I always knew you as a pretty damn cool guy and a good mapper (and token Finnish resident mapper, nah just kidding on the token part).

Condolences to the community as well, for losing a valued and talented artist. He cherished his work and everyone cherishes him and his memories.

      Godspeed, and rest in peace.

      :(

Just thought I'd drop everyone a line. I am in the Army now so I won't get to do this very often. I am currently stationed in Fort Benning, GA (for BCT - 3 more weeks but I'm on leave for Christmas)
and after that I go to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio for my AIT (I'm a 91 Whiskey or Medic) for four months.

Yeah. Well, maybe I'll post again maybe not but I wanted to wish everyone the best.

It makes me hot, too. Indeed I love straddling grown men from behind and choking them out. It usually makes them more receptive to my "training" if you catch my drift (wink wink nudge nudge say no more). ;)

The side of the head is either the temple, or the pressure points behind the ear or under the jaw.

We didn't really do anything too fancy. The nose is one place we're taught also, but, in a combat situation it is only so effective, thus we were taught not to rely on it and to go for either a kill or aim to render an opponent unconscious.

The area under the arm pit is also good. If struck hard enough, it can cause a person to go unconscious.

When all else fails, there's the MMA stuff we were taught: rear-naked chokes, arm bars, and other things (that I forgot the names to), but they sure as hell worked, and having them demonstrated on me by my drill sergeant (not as punishment but at our training) I can assure you they are highly effective. And painful.

I won't split hairs here (which always seems to get me in hot water so maybe I'm learning my lesson). I'm positive there are other martial arts that dwarf the Army's MMA training, but, seeing as our biggest concern is not getting our asses whooped in fisticuffs we really only focus on defending ourselves.

The army's stance on this (which had been addressed numerous times during hand-to-hand combat training) is that (and I quote) "We aren't here to make you into Jet Li, Jackie Chan, or Van-Damme! We are here to make sure you have the tools adequate to your survival in such so that if you are in a position to ever need them, you can stay alive long enough until your buddy, who has a fucking gun can dispatch your adversaries!" (end quote)

But I'd still say I've a good chance of seriously fucking someone up or killing them.

Also, the army trains us in "one-hitter-quitters" which sometimes require no finesse but refines the raw survival instinct into a weapon. We are taught to strike the throat, temples, hell, we're even taught to jam our thumbs into eyeballs (which, if done correctly can break through the small bone at the back of the eye socket and into the brain, effectively killing anyone).

Like I said, not Jet Li, but effective.

      I really like italics.

  5. Friday night: I go out to a bar, hang out, have some fun. At about 1:30 a girl comes over and sits down next to me, we talk a little, next thing I know she is hanging off me and we leave together. We make out a bit on the way to my car, I drive her back to her place, make out some more, we exchange numbers and she says she'll give me a call on Saturday or I should call her.

Saturday afternoon: I give her a call and leave a message on her voicemail saying, hey, I had a great time last night, let's do it again. She text messages me a while later basically saying "ummm I was really drunk and I don't know if I remember you." We text back and forth a bit and she says we should hang out and she'll call me Sunday.

Sunday morning: She texts me asking for my email address, so I text it back to her. Pretty soon she sends me an email explaining that she was really drunk and I seemed like a nice enough guy but she felt weird calling or going out with a guy she remembers next to nothing about. I email her back saying yeah that is kind of weird and talk a bit about myself and about what she had told me on Friday. I give her my AIM name in the process

Sunday afternoon: She AIMs me and we chat for a little while. We agree to go out for a drink or something on Wednesday.

Sunday night: At about 9:30 pm she texts me again, asking if I want to go out for a drink right then. I say sure, why not, and I go over to her place, pick her up, and we go to a nearby bar for a few drinks. After about an hour we are making out again, she says she shouldn't stay up too late since she has to get up early and we go back to her place and make out some more. She says she wants me to stay the night but isn't sure because if I do there's basically no chance of her getting up early because she's going to be jumping my bones. I don't want to be screwing up her life so I take a rain check and finally leave around midnight. After all we can get busy on Wednesday.

Monday morning: I text her saying "hey thanks for last night". Pretty soon I get an email from her saying she had fun too, but she doesn't feel any chemistry between us, so have a nice life. Uh, OK?

    KNOWN MISTAKES:
    * Going out on Sunday night, it made me appear like I was ready to drop everything for her and she didn't have to compete for my attention.
    * Acting too nice, I gave her a lot of compliments (mostly during making out) that again probably made me look weak and needy. If we're furiously making out she doesn't need much more validation that I think she's hot.
    * Not pushing her to fool around on Sunday night, even if things were doomed anyway I should have done everything I could to get laid.

I can kind of relate to Linguica's fixation on intelligent women. I'd rather go out with a woman closer to my, uh, intellectual range(?) too but whoo boy it can sure backfire.

My last girlfriend was very smart but she had a horrible dope problem, and I'm no angel but I don't touch crank y'know? Anyways, I thought things were going good and then last August at the county fair she jacked me for roughly three hundred bucks to go buy an eightball and then she fucked another guy at the fair and fucking brought him up to my room with her and then tried to lie her way out.

Case in point: you can always have a girlfriend who can be a tad too smart for the good of your relationship, if you know what I mean. Sometimes it's just because she knows what buttons to push and how far she can push you emotionally before she reneges and for some reason you never see it coming in time.

I'm sure you'll have some luck sooner or later though, Ling. I agree it sucks when things go down that way but hindsight is 20/20 right?

      Edit:

I should also report that I drank a large amount of beer last night and ended up having some weird dreams, one of which involved a guy punching me in the face and I got really surprised but ended up falling down because it was a hard punch that made we woozy, and another where a gay guy started hitting on me and I told him I wasn't gay and he started crying. I think these are my brain's way of calling me a weak fag because I couldn't recognize no strings attached sex with a pretty girl when it stared me in the face.

I always have weird dreams when I drink too much beer. In any case, even though I would occasionally advocate casual sex (albeit, safe sex) you probably saved yourself a lot of emotional duress because as someone else pointed out you may have kinda let yourself be lead on and yeah sex with an attractive woman is fun but in my own experience I'd prefer to have a girlfriend as opposed to a fuckbuddy. It's no fun to be used if it's not a mutual understanding.

Kudos on catching a hottie though!

Good point, I kinda deserve that one. I just have a somewhat bitter outlook on women at this point in my life. I don't really go out and dip my wick a lot either. I don't even necessarily believe women who fuck outside of a relationship are dirty whores, but some are. I know good ones and bad ones, but where I live, there are far more of the latter (Quast knows what my area is like being in an adjacent county).

The only way she can burn you is if you have a small penis and she tells all her girl friends who are friends of a friend of a friend of a boyfriend's girlfriend's cousin who knows your friends' friends about your under-endowment.

At about that point you use the old "it's not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean!" remark and get shot down with "it takes a year and day to get to London in a rowboat"

immediately after that, you go and hang yourself because you're ashamed of your infantile equipment. Or go beat off. Or better yet, hang yourself while beating off.

If this doesn't apply to you, then who gives a fuck about casual sex? All women are dirty whores anyway.

In ROSS you have to do mean stuff like crawl on your WRISTS without using your legs, fall forward with your arms behind you, get your stomach stepped on.

Not to argue a point, but we did the "alligator crawl" (tuck forearms under torso and put the brunt of your weight on your wrists and crawl without using lower body strength) in laps around our barrack floors sometimes 2 or 3 times a day depending on the mood our drill sergeant was in.

Also, Modern Army Combatives training (MAC) is a gateway to more intense physical training, the likes of which they really do not show in the training videos (which will eventually lead to the army "bullring" situations later on in training).

In summation, there are two sides to army PT:

1: The side everyone sees in the media showing some pansy doing up-and-overs at the confidence course,

      &

2: The shit we actually did, and people did get hurt in training, sometimes worse.

Ask anyone who went to Fort Benning for BCT about things like the "fire hydrant," and other things they don't show in the media for basic training. Believe me, we did PT that made grown men scream for their mothers and cry, grow incontinent (there was one incident during a smoke session where a guy in my platoon literally shit his pants because the PT hurt so much) and even sometimes go manic or suicidal (though the PT had less to do with it than psychological stress factors, which is harder to deal with than the physical aspect of basic training).

This is not to say I'm Mr. Tough guy, and I too was not a 'gung-ho fuck' - I'm just saying - for all the flak the military gets and the whole "ARMY stands for 'Ain't Ready for the Marines Yet'" bull shit, people underestimate just what kind of training we receive.

Oh yeah, another note on MAC: It's mixed martial arts (watch UFC? same thing), so it's essentially Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which isn't probably the best of the best (though every fighting style's effectiveness rests in the person who trains in it), but it places more emphasis on fighting FROM the ground instead of on top of it, which I think is more important since Tae Kwon Do and Karate are more ground fighting styles and can't help you too much when you have a 185 pound person on top of you.

Fort Benning is the home of the infantry, hardest training available in the Army.

Parris Island, South Carolina takes the cake for hardest military basic training period (which is USMC).

Your buddy will have a helluva time at Benning. It's fun though for basic, but don't expect to see any women on sand hill.

And there is lots, and I do mean LOTS of fucking hills in Ft. Benning, so PT is fucking killer (and they run you in the sand tracks too for PT).

      Edit:

Most people get sent to certain places for basic training according to their MOS. I was a medic, so they send people who have more physically strenuous jobs to harder places (like Benning).

It seemed all the guys in basic with me were all medics and commo (communications ops) and that commo shit is fucking HARD dude, carrying those huge 90 pound radios on top of your ruck sack is no joke.

Blowing shit up and shooting it is fun as fuck, though.

  11. Well, I lucked out and my internet will indeed not be disconnected until Wednesday, the 1st of September... The same date I move out.

I had the opportunity (not the pleasure, though) of visiting George Fiffy's (King REoL) site out of sheer morbid curiosity today by googling it. What I found inside was absolutely atrocious, especially the maps for Quake 3. I only downloaded one of them, "No Vacancy" or something, and while he pimps his maps and sites so much, this map TRULY sucks. The only good architecture in his map was the front entrance staircase thingy, coincidentally all he took screenshots of. The area is, in the true fashion of George Fiffy, littered with powerups and weapons. I had every single powerup, minus flight, going at the same time.

Anyways, I flamed him for his horrible maps that he pimps to be the best or "as good as everyone else's" on his website and his horribly distasteful article on Columbine where every sentence contains the word "REoL TougH" or "King REoL" to the point of disgust. Here's the email I sent to him promptly after reading his Columbine Article:
    http://img64.exs.cx/img64/3381/reoltough.jpg

Since I'm too lazy to crop it down it will be at 1024x768 resolution.

Anyways, now on to the fun stuff. My own [perhaps crap] map port of one of the Danzig series maps is pretty much fleshed out, minus the last little area I didn't throw in yet. This "last little area" is actually my idea so I can at least say I didn't completely rip the map off. I have a few screenshots that I will post later on today. Still have a ways to go before it's finished, but it'll be worth it. :D

The problem is that the anus is not quite as elasticized as the vagina, so it can be potentially painful for the man, especially if he has even an average or slightly-above-average girth. Then it's downright fucking excruciating to pump that.

On the other hand, it does seem to be a little more stimulating...for the woman, that is. Unless you go too hard at it and tear the tissue in the rectum and the anus, in which case you've really fucked up.

  12. This friday I will be moving to a new city and getting out of my parents home for the first time. And this isn't for school or anything like that - its simply for the experience and getting out on my own.

As I sit around packing up my belongings, I'm finding myself getting choked up over old memeories. I'm really going to miss my parents and living here. Unlike a lot of friends of mine, I don't have any problems with my parents. Its just time for me to get out I guess - but I wasn't expecting this sudden rush of emotion from everything.

Oh well, it should be interesting. Luckily I have a girlfriend who is going to help me which I'm thankful for. I look forward to living in a bigger city and meeting some cool people. One thing I'm not looking forward to is my crappy job that I'm transfering to. But we can't have it all, right?

    PS I'm 21.

And I just realized I'm not going to have internet again for another 2 weeks after I leave this friday. That's like a million years for a guy like me ;)

  14. Well, I'm finally getting the boot from the parents' house. I can't really blame them too much (I am a little bitter at times about the relationship with my stepfather - but I don't hate him really) since I guess I am a bona fide fuck up in every sense of the word, at least as it pertains to an unexperienced, sheltered teenager. My chance for college was blown because I had summer school (I have never done well at my high school, ever. I am actually 26 credits behind, whoohoo!) and that went good until I got to the math department.

There is this math learning curriculum called "Plato weblearning" which is an online based curriculum that SUCKS. I guess to be honest, 1/2 of the failure was attributable to me, the other half was attributable to shitty software that won't run on Linux or any non-Nutscrape or AOL or Internet Exploder browser. Basically, the criteria I had to meet to get the credit (and thereafter go to CLC to do Post-Secondary and get my high school diploma without staying in high school until I'm 30) was to complete 14 hours of that Plato crap within a 7 week period. Now, I DID have a job so my time was limited as I was working 8 hours a day and I only went one day a week to summer school. Now, admittedly, there wasn't much of an excuse for me NOT to get those fourteen hours done in 7 weeks, so it is just as much my fault.

The problem, though, comes in when I did do it, I used Linux at the time because I didn't have the money to get a legitimate copy of Winblows (I DO have XP on my PC now, a week after summer school ended). Problem is, it wouldn't log the hours I did do correctly due to whatever the hell was wrong with it (it sometimes even did this at summer school) and while I could've just kept on trying I absolutely detest online curriculums unless it is for a computer tech class like Computer Sciences or CISCO, or the like. Anyways, long story short, I got my other credit (a social studies credit) but missed the math credit. I had roughly 8 hours cumulatively over the 7 week period. So, my mother and stepfather assured me that I would be allowed to stay here provided I continued in my education and at least tried to get a job again.

Well, I'm hoping to get a job at a local casino but the education thing is most likely done for. I have really only one option if I want to support myself, and that is a GED. Unless the district will cut me a better deal, that is.

In the city of Brainerd the best deal on an apartment is $400 a month, utilities included. I have until the first of September. Internet is also done on the first of September, or when I get an apartment. If I'm not out by the first of September, I'm on the streets.

Sucks that you had to do the Plato Pathways program - I had to do that in my freshman year for a Career Education credit, and I failed. I got off easy though, because I was put on a special ed program (which, by the way, doesn't mean that I'm stupid, it just means I learn differently from other people.)

I had (have?) an IEP as well. It's basically the same as special education. And you're right, it's not for stupid people at all really. It's for people who learn at higher or lower rates.

I think Plato is absolutely fucking bogus.

Also, do you go to school in Minnesota?

Well, I got the apartment in Brainerd over by Burlington Northwestern or something...

It's one of those damn mega-conglomerate railroad companies. $800 down, free internet (charter pipeline :D) and $5 a month for a phone.

The last two days have been great, over at my girlfriend's house. Got drunk both nights and her dad flipped out both nights thinking I was banging his daughter. I think last night was especially bad because my girlfriend got drunk too, and we kissed by the fire and her dad automatically assumes I've been stuffing her twat. Good times.

Anyways, thankfully if I am gone, it won't be too long before I return. :D

This place is cool, it's well moderated, it's clean and usually retard free.

Much to many of your dissapointment, I will return, but not for long. I'm thankful of yoursupport and advice and I'm sorry if I've been a dick. You've been intelligent and funny.

I'll be gone by September, perhaps even before then.

Quast - I looked at that very apartment you speak of. It's probably where I'm going to be moving in within the next few weeks. It's a smaller basement apartment, but not too shabby at all. It also comes with Cable so I probably can just sign up for Charter Pipeline.

Unfortunately, just being intelligent doesn't cut it for school. Then again, Albert Einstein got kicked out of school and college and still went on to be the smartest man ever known at least in the past century. I always find that a test or paperwork aren't really indicative of intelligence, just whether you can commit something to memory (minus math or physics) and later put it on paper and turn it in. When it comes to turning the work IN (either on time or at all)...I FAIL IT.

I am far too disorganized for schooling or college anymore.

I can't say I'd find any of them better than sex if it is in a loving relationship. If you're just getting it on with some random chick then maybe.

However, with my ex? Yes, ALL of those would've been better than banging my ex. :(

I am not sure if what you'd have is encephalitis. Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain tissue itself and is very deadly. From the CDC's website, a few symptoms caused by encephalitis:

      * Aseptic meningitis or encephalitis. Many cases have only fever with headache.

      * Can progress to focal paralysis, intractable seizures, coma and death.

Meningitis wouldn't seem much likely either, since that attacks the spinal cord and fluid inside of it. You'd be having more than a headace and hallucinations. But, if you're hallucinating and you don't know why, well, you should probably see a doctor.

  20. Shit, they just took my mom to the hospital again. Diabetes is getting the worst of her again. She skipped one day of dialysis, and the next time she went, they took WAY too much out of her. To top that off, she hasn't eaten or drunk much of anything for two days. She's extremely dehydrated now, and she can't sit up or even move. At one point she was hallucinating. I would be at the hospital right now, but I'm stuck having to watch the kids. All I can do now is wait until they call. I swear to god she'd just giving up.

Safe to say I'm scared shitfucked right now.

It's official; she died sometime around 12:30 am. She waited until it was just her and dad. She stopped breathing a little after he went to sleep. She did exactly what I said she would. It's the same thing our cats did when they were dying.

I'm happy for her though. She's no longer in pain, and is now with her father. And through it all, right to the end, even after, she beat the odds. They said she didn't have long to live when she first had her kidney transplant years ago. She beat the odds. When she was carrying me, they said there was a chance neither of us would live. She beat the odds. The last time she had a reaction so bad that she had stopped breathing, she beat the odds and came back. And now, despite all of the pain she went through, all of the sacrifices she has made, she's one hell of a woman, and there's no person alive who can say otherwise.

She's got a whole new journey ahead of her; may she make the best of it too.

I also want to thank everyone for being there for me. It means a lot.

On the positive side you're right, she's not suffering anymore and all things set aside, she's in a much better place. I guess that's the easiest way to look at it, something to take solace from that you know even though they're not physically here on earth, they're happy elsewhere without pain or suffering.

I hope you feel better soon buddy. :(
