Warhammer 40k - The Siege of Vraks

    Thank you very much.
  2. Howdy everyone. Been quite a long time since I've made my last map, and I did a lot of experimenting with this one. As before I've only stuck to very basic geographic, large maps, I instead turned my attention to small scale stuff with this one, as well as being a lot more technical. This is the Siege of Vraks from the Warhammer 40k universe. You can view a version which isn't on a table on my DA, as well as my other maps. Thanks everybody. https://www.deviantart.com/jelly-dew

Post Your (Other) Video Game Screenshots Here

Recently got into the Warhammer 40k universe, and it's probably become my favorite sci-fi universe by far. Been playing some Dawn of War and plan on buying Dawn of War II soon because this game is great. Just wish multiplayer was alive.

    I make maps. Sometimes.

Howdy everyone. I'm a simple mapper, not in the Doom sense, though I am trying to learn, but in the literal sense. I make cartography style maps from time to time. I've recently gotten a hold of a lot more time in life and may be producing more soon, as it's been a little while since my last map. If you would like to follow me for future maps or suggest a map yourself, feel free, I'm on Deviantart. https://www.deviantart.com/jelly-dew You can view more of my maps on here. Also accepting critique. Do you like it and if there's any glaring issues you see, let me know and I'll make an attempt to correct them for future maps.

Extracting single textures from sets of textures

Thank you. I was figuring there was some automatic way to do it but I guess a little time in photoshop wont hurt.
  7. Howdy again. Thanks for the help on my last question, but I have one more. I went ahead and browsed the community texture thread and found a really nice set of metal textures I'd like to use. I know how to work slade with importing textures but I cannot find any answer online about how to deal with large pictures of textures. The below image is what I'm talking about. These metal textures were posted by NiGHTMARE in the texture thread and they look amazing and they're just what I was looking for, but how do you actually use something in this format? I'm familiar with each texture being by itself in a picture file, but not multiple textures in a single file. Can I seperate these easily into individual textures using slade? Do I have to just separate them manually using photoshop? Thanks for the help again in advance.

    Post your Doom textures!

I cannot overstate just how incredibly useful this thread is for mappers like myself who have almost no photoshop skill. You guys are angels.

    Use of other people's textures?

Oh wow thank you, these are nice.

    Use of other people's textures?

Howdy everyone, new mapper here on Doomworld. For years now, I've been a simple consumer of WADs and just a player of Doom, but for the past week or so I've been slowly teaching myself how to make my own map in Doombuilder 2, and I'm pretty confident I know all of the basics to get started on my ideas. The only problem is, I've been working with the default textures this whole time and while a lot of them are great, they just simply wont do the job for my current plans. My first map I've been drawing up is a submarine interior. So a lot of metal and electronic equipment is needed. However, the vanilla Doom and Doom II textures only take me so far, and I need some new textures. I've noticed there's a public textures thread here on the forum where people post their custom textures, and I was wondering if it's ok for mappers to use them? If not, are there any texture repositories where I can get some custom textures? Thanks for the help in advance.
