If you can find the original SPISPOPD FAQ, definitely add that.
[edit]
Here is the original FAQ file: http://www.textfiles.com/humor/COMPUTER/spispopd.faq
And this is an afterword by the author of said file about it: http://www.textfiles.com/humor/COMPUTER/spispopd.txt

I feel like this is a relevant insight into what he "usually" did:
Or perhaps not. Like others in this thread, I'm not really familiar with his regular body of work outside of Toy Story, but yeah, you can definitely see why he was so celebrated.

Regarding the weapon, I believe you trigger sticky bombs with the Weapon Zoom button (since that tends to act as a "tertiary fire" button in this mod). Precaching sounds is supported, but has to be done on the mod side through SNDINFO for some reason.

Worth noting for the record that the level titles for episode 4 are all cribbed from verses from the Biblical Book of Psalms, so it might be worth tracking down the specific chapters and verses and doing the same thing with a Spanish translation of the Bible.

Useless starting weapons. I can't believe it took until the year 2000 before we started regularly seeing FPS games where the pistols and starting melee weapons started getting to not be immediately obsolete.

On 3/21/2017 at 0:54 PM, Rachael said:I wonder why ZDoom does not offer the option... but that would also have a lot to do with the operating system, too, because apparently that's where it gets its codes from.
And it really seems as if the ISO-639 language codes are not nearly "complete" enough to help with this, either...

I'm very much enjoying this! Even though I accidentally ran out of VRAM trying to open the map (to be fair, I'd tried cranking most of the graphics settings as high as they'd go, and my video card's only 1 GB), the game runs pretty damn well, and you've managed to create an experience vastly preferable to the N64 original.

Yeah, honestly I've got high hopes for the future of the DW forums. Maybe with everything being more integrated, people will be more likely to try their hand at reviewing things.

I do appreciate not needing to zoom in to be able to tap on links using my mobile browser (lets be honest, I surf forums on my phone more than on my computer anymore) but I do feel like the font sizes could stand to be toned down just a tidbit. I feel like the forum is speaking very loudly at me. =P

The Specialists is still fun against bots. I'm also gonna put my name in the Sweet Half-Life hat, and Poke646 is a pretty entertaining single-player TC.

While I didn't "see" the whole movie, it does disturb me that Movie 43 ever got made. There are just some things that do not, and probably should not, ever translate into humor.

What you'll probably want to look for are not drivers for the chip itself, but drivers from your laptop manufacturer. If you're lucky, the manufacturer's website will still have them around if you're able to put in the exact model of your laptop.

It should be pointed out, IMO, that nobody ever said John Carmack invented the 3D engine. There are games from the early-to-mid 1980s - and even older than that, if memory serves - that use a similar 3D drawing system to this, some of which even have filled polygons (Atari's I, Robot, for one). Carmack didn't pioneer 3D rendering altogether. He did, however, make it fast, which is better than can be said for a lot of 80s (and some early 90s!) 3D flight-sims.

Kontra Kommando said:Question: What is the potential of utilizing Power Slave's source code, compared to what is already available with doom's source-ports? What can it do that Doom's engine can't?
It can play Powerslave.

Yeah, and historically speaking, this has been far from the only time he's acted out in such a way. But that's the thing about mutual respect - by definition, it should go both ways.
-
The events around those threads are, honestly, a bit disappointing. I wish the internet at large fostered more of a culture of respect, and that criticism could be less abrasive. Many users in the thread have been very polite, but it's the handful that weren't that are arguably the biggest cause of the problem. Some people feel the need to be jerks, to exaggerate the issues they're having so they'll be noticed. Because, sad as it is, few things get more attention than overblown attacks and ad hominem. Mutual respect is extremely important in a relatively tight-knit community like ours, and there just wasn't a lot of that going around in those threads.
That said, MaxED is well within his rights to stop work on GZDB. I just wish he hadn't done it in a way that suggests he's stamped his feet and slammed the door on the way out. -

Seems like Decorate all crashes down on GZDoomBuilder when you have two actors with the same name.Probably because you're not supposed to have two actors with the same name. ZDoom warns you about it on startup and everything.

I'm amazed Executor is accurate enough to run this without crashing. I recall Basilisk II having all kinds of trouble with it back in the day, and that had the benefit of having the Mac boot ROMs and actual operating system.

This - it's basically uTorrent without the ads, crapware, and general cruftiness. And it's cross-platform!

Why would a (theoretical) downloader want to download 10 individual files? Why not zip them together?

Anybody ever been to a forum with a strict word filter installed? I mean, obviously the Scunthorpe Problem is a thing, but I once saw a website that censored all instances of "Hell" into "heck", unconditionally. This resulted in the forum's own Welcome thread tripping the filter, coming out as "Heck o, new users!"

RightField said:Someone should try to get doom '16 running on a 386. THAT would be entertaining to watch.
It would take the entirety of that machine to be able to process a native-resolution screenshot of it.

There's a handful of implementations of this HUD, most recently the gameplay mod Doom Delta actually managed to make the mini-map work.
So where does your username come from?

I used my one-time-per-year name change button......to remove the CamelCase from my username. That's it. I've always been wildweasel and see no particular reason not to be.
