Thanks for the feedback! Though, I have to disagree with your opinion on map 6. I think that's my favorite map of the wad, maybe because of how confusing it is, or the effort I put into it. And I think it's also pretty difficult as well, though perhaps you are right on 4 and 5 being more difficult. I'm glad you enjoyed it whatsoever!

@ValkrenLikesDoom Thank you so much for finally giving me some feedback! Yes, the first map was a bit bad and rushed too, since the map was originally a keyless map, just run to the exit and that's it. I wanted the map to reflect both Hell Keep and Hell Beneath (that's why it was baron-infested). I'm glad you enjoyed the second and third map. I gotta warn you, the voodoo dolls become kinda boring in the next map, but they don't appear in any other maps. So what I'm getting here, is that I need to make the second map more difficult. Also, I think the soulsphere secret is a great way of sacrificing just a bit of health, so I don't intend in changing that. Thanks for pointing the lift bug out! Also I think the outdoors area is actually a breather for all the wood in the third map, not to mention the difficulty it poses. I can't wait for you to play the rest!

I like it! My original plan from E3M6 was a huge arena with cyberdemons, but not as the start area. Rather, as the final area, covered in gibs and corpses, which you reach after seeing countless enemies teleport dead in front of you.

Hello everyone! I'm looking for mappers for "The New Horizons 2", a wad that is NOT as sequel to anyone. The name comes from "The New Horizons", a space project meant to go near Pluto, study and take photographs of it. It is a Doom 2 wad, but in the Doom format with 8 episodes + 1 secret map. RULES: - Mapping will be done in vanilla format - Wolfenstein SS will be accepted as normal enemies. - You can either join the discord or post your progress here. Also, looking for artists, musicians, as well as map testers. EPISODES: Episode 1- takes place in a huge spaceship, thus the name, "The Flying City", with mostly tech textures. Metal, silver and gray textures are the most used ones for this episode (to make it look like a fortified and safe spaceship). Episode 2- takes place in Pluto's moon, Charon, where there are tech textures, combined with little to no hellish textures (to make it look like a neutral, slightly infected base, not Knee-Deep in the Dead or The Shores of Hell, something in between.) All the outdoors textures include vines. Nukage pools are fitting in this episode, with also the use of tech textures and metal ones too. Brown textures also fit in here. Episode 3- hell. Does this word remind you of anything? This episode is just hell. Wood, marble, rock, all are welcome in here. You basically went to hell to take care of the souls you just sent there. Episode 4- A very infected base, that reminds you of the shores of hell x10. Marble, brown textures, tech, all are welcome here. Also warehouses if you want. To anyone who was wondering, yes, it's only vanilla format, but played on GZDoom and MAPINFo based ports, and Wolf SS enemies are now the highest range enemies.

How to make teleporting monsters in Doom:Doom 2 format

By placing monsters in an inaccessible room, but connected to the room where the player is in, so they can hear the player's gunfire, via a teeny tiny sector. Place several linedefs that are marked as teleporters and put a teleport destination. This will cause the monsters to teleport once they hear gunfire from the player. If you want them to teleport upon flipping a switch, make a door that isn't completely closed ( so it doesn't block sound) and then make the door open upon walking towards the switch, by giving it an action and a tag. That should do. -
You need to open it on a port that supports console and run it on doom 2. Type map e1m2 to warp there. Or you can just name it map01 and I can change the name later

Thank you so much! You were literally the only helpful person, after @lirui1001 .Really helpful feedback. I'm not planning on making any changes on the wad, since it's almost garbage anyways, but this will definitely be an improvement for me. Also, I had no time to think it all through, so ig next time I'm speed mapping, I'm setting a looser time, such as 1 hour. Thanks again for the review. -
I just created a set of maps for Vanilla Doom 2 (they may not run with vanilla or chocolate doom tho, because they have a custom monster) and definitely cannot run with brutal doom. They're speedmaps I did for 30 minutes or so each, so they're not as good as it's to be expected. Anyways, here's the time I made each map: Map01: 29 minutes Map02: 27 minutes Map03: 32 minutes Map04: 25 minutes They may be short, but they are pretty tough. It's called "Chaos Project", but if it were really a project with thought put into it, it would be far better. Has been tested with Skulltag, ZDoom, GZDoom, Zandronum.
