You can actually run this wad on vanilla doom, you just need to delete everything between SS_START and SS_END, however the new enemies will appear as Wolfenstein Soldiers. Map 1 and Map 3 actually run with no problems, however the enemies do appear as wolfensteins when they attack, and you can also only see them when they attack, but map 2 and 4 will not run properly. -
Looking at most Doom maps, you'll see their unique designs. In most cases, reviewers will say the map needs altitude. I don't really like having confusing lifts and stairs in my map. Logically, a structure made by humans or demons, should reflect basic and serious buildings, with mostly square rooms and little to no altitude. Or, if there is any altitude (I mean, if it's hell, it makes sense if:), make the stairs go down. As you go inside hell, you go deeper and deeper, so it's very logical to make hell's stairs go down. If you are making a tech-base, it doesn't really matter. But, I suggest you don't make rectangular rooms and corridors, and no altitude, as you *are* going to face meaningless and logicless critique. Always make the doors match the atmosphere you're trying to set. Use what linedef types doom has to offer. Use smart architecture and shade all the sectors nicely, i.e. after 2 pillars, make 2 shadows to match them, etc. I also suggest putting stuff in a visible place (such as the mega armor, a soulsphere) so the player knows what to look for in secrets. Completely remove computer area maps from hell. Try using light sources and decorations as things, to make your map prettier (no over-use, like monster condo). Oh, and make sure the keys or skulls you need to collect are made clear, through scattering the colored doors in visible places without even collecting a key. Use windows to do that. Make sure to tag the exit (put an exit sign), not everyone will know where the exit switch is. And remember to have fun

Can I Have More Than 32 Maps/Can I Create Both A Good SP And DM Map

You need to be really confident on your mapping skills, if you want to make more that 32 maps. People don't usually play 32-map megawads, especially if someone says it's their first ever wad and contains their first ever map. What I'm trying to say is, you need to start small. Don't you ever make the mistake of building a 32-map megawad. I made the mistake and my first ever released maps were a 33-map megawad, which no one liked in the first place. 1- It can be done via MAPINFO, where you can also modify map names, par times, skies, etc. This is what it usually looks like: map MAP01 "My cool map's cool name" { LevelNum = 01 skybox = SKY1 (can be any sky from SKY1-SKY3 on Doom 2, or sky1-sky4 on Ultimate Doom. If you have any custom skies, you can name them sky5, and put theme here) next = "MAP02" (indicates which level comes next) sky1 = "SKY1", 0 (as applied before, can be any sky or custom sky) music = "D_MYMUS" (can be the name of the track you assigned to it) par = 60 (Type in the time in seconds } 2- In regards of your second question, a map that I made is dummy big and dummy non-linear (there are 2 paths, one of which doesn't even require the red key, but is otherwise longer as a path), but still has a decent deathmatch arena, because it takes part in a somewhat wide-open area, where, in singleplayer, the player was going to get crushed, but in deathmatch, the crushers aren't even triggered, so it's possible to pull it off in one area. -
It's true, E1M7 is literally mapping goals. It's all I've wanted from Doom, it gave me that confusing experience, it was also a tough map, I wasn't used to the difficulty, and also a very atmospheric music. I try to follow to recreate somehow the E1M7 experience when I'm making a KDiTD map.

Who would be interested if we did a Doom 2 wad, that runs with vanilla doom, but in Ultimate Doom format (4 episodes with 8+1 missions). I'm not quite sure what the theme is, I just don't have much in hand right now, and a collab wad seemed like a good idea. That's why I fixed it, my dude. All 4 skies look amazing now that I tiled them properly. I actually named them sky5-sky8 and used 1024x128 images.

Rules: - Any map is accepted, but I prefer ones that are long (like 30 minutes at most) are kinda confusing, with puzzles to solve. As I said before, this doesn't matter that much. - The wads shouldn't have too many maps, i.e more than 10. I can deal with 1 episode of Ultimate Doom, or even 1 episode of Doom II, but a whole game will just mess with my head. - No troll wads will be accepted, ABSOLUTELY no way. - I will play maps of any source port. - Preferably, the wad should be in doomworld idgames, and shared here as a link, or any other link, i.e. mediafire or doom.dogsoft.net , but I don't mind attachments here. - You most likely will NEVER see me play with a mod (especially Brutal Doom), unless your wad relies too much on it, for certain reasons. Live Sign.zip Here's a track I made, and I know the start and some transitions aren't as good as I imagined and as smooth as they should be, but I can fix them. This is basically sign of evil pitched down to -1 and slightly modified. Definitely not, the backstory is 100% complete, for each and every episode, as well as I have prepared the skybox textures, so the themes it will have is a tech spaceship, moon base (Charon) , infected moon base (Pluto) and hell
