    It is a known scientific fact that there are more (G)ZDoom WADs than there are species of lizard, and new ones appear at roughly the same rate. In all seriousness, if you want something different, try out my TC WAD, Fury's Sky. Turns GZDoom into a flight game a la Rogue Squadron. Other mods I've liked are Russian Overkill, Demonsteele, Metroid Dreadnought, Doom RPG, and Legendoom

    I'm back, baby! And I brought deathmatch! So yeah, the deathmatch build is live, here. and on Steam. You can set up netgames using the normal method, but for simplicity's sake, Mr. Rocket's Doom Connector is probably the best way. Right now, there's only one map that's DM compatible, MAP 101, but more will be added in the future.

    Update on Deathmatch: It works! There's still a couple technical issues to work around, but overall Deathmatch in Fury's Sky is looking good. Personally, I like how the airbrake and shield make fights feel more tense and engaging. It's like aerial swordplay. Now, the code had to be refactored HEAVILY for the deathmatch stuff to work. Most of the changes you're not gonna notice, but there will be a couple tweaks and balance changes to accommodate the mode. These tweaks include, but are not limited to: -A rework of the Gemini's turret. In a nutshell, the Turret is no longer a separate actor from the Gemini, and thus, it cannot be detached from the main craft anymore. Instead, the Gemini gets a laser sight that lets it designate a target for the Turret to attack. Otherwise, it works the same as before. -The Hatchet will only appear on other player's radars if it is charging or deploying a shield. Otherwise, radar does not detect it. -Locust's Proximity Mine now has a delay before it explodes. -Lock-On missiles carried by the Enforcer/Gungnir cannot lock on to targets if they are too close. You need to create space before obtaining a lock. -Many weapons have had damage nerfs, including the Gungnir's Heavy Torpedo, and the Hatchet's Immolation Peal.

    Boy this Steam release date is creeping up. If only there was something I could do in the meantime to spruce up the game. Like, I dunno, put in a Deathmatch mode or something. *hours of coding later* OH SNAP!! Yup, Fury's Sky is getting Deathmatch. And even better, the wonderful Mr. Rocket, who is a dev on the current incarnation of Doom Connector, is working on adding Fury's Sky to DC to simplify creating, finding, and joining games! Right now, Deathmatch mode is heavily WIP. There will be support for Teams, as well as all the planes and weapons, but they cannot be upgraded in any way, shape, or form. Because, you know, balance reasons. There will be a multiplayer menu in FS itself to set your name, team, and preferred planes and weapons on first spawn, as well as options to do the same in Doom Connector. Additionally, you can swap planes and weapons when you die (a menu will appear that allows you to choose). I still need to test the mode, but it might have some promise. Any balance issues will be worked out in future patches. Let's rock!

I've been wanting to put PvP, possibly co-op, in my GZDoom mod for quite a while, but I lacked a way to get lobbies for it. And now this turns up?! Booyah, bitches! Fury's Sky Versus is a go! Thanks so much man. Let's hope DC stays alive this time. :P

    Believe it or not, his project's older than mine. I first met Deybar on the ZDoom forums where he showed in project in response to Fury's Sky, and I learned that he had been working on it since 2016. My project started in about October of 2018. So he's roughly two years ahead of me, heh. Anyways, if you're looking for a more Ace Combat-style game, as an answer to my project's Rogue Squadron, give this guy a go.

    Hey, you know how I said I wouldn't update the IWAD until the Steam release? I LIED. A new update is live, and can be downloaded from the link on the first post. The main feature of this new update is two brand new levels: MAP04 and MAP05. MAP04 is a scavenger hunt mission where you find and down a Night Owl transport in a labyrinthine canyon with twisty passages and caves. You need to find it quickly, lest the transport escape and the mission fail. If you complete this mission, MAP05 awaits. In MAP05, you assault a Night Owl base where historical artifacts are being unearthed for an unknown purpose. Shut down the operation by taking out 4 excavators on the map. But be warned, the Owls won't let that site go without a fight! You may run into something especially nasty on that map... The update has also been applied to the Steam build, and will be available when the game releases. Good luck and good hunting!

    This one's very much out of left field as far as Doom mods go, so I won't be offended if you decide not to partake, but I did work rather hard on this, and I'd like to at least share it here. Should you choose to review this IWAD, I'll be very grateful! If not, I understand.

    Is switch doom 2016 just as good as ps4 doom 2016?

    Doom 2016 Switch is the shiz-nit, and it's arguably the best console version due to the inclusion of gyro aiming in a post-launch patch. Not quite as precise as M + K, granted, but much better than analog sticks.
