"anul secks" ... Kay. We've officially hit near the rock bottom intelligence quota of the internet. Anyone want to get some industrial strength RAID and flush out these bottom-dwellers =3?

What other games are you waiting for?

Or, to compare it to something else... Not all really, really hot women (or men) are any good in bed, or anything else, for that matter. Context XD.

    What makes a good pizza?

Just no cheese or little fishies. What? I'm allergic to milk proteins, not lactose, so there's no chamical additives to circumvent becoming ill. As for the anchovies, I really don't like food which stares at me....

My point is not that it has to lack beauty and such to be great, but if the sheer -emphasis- is on making everything lightmapped, texturemapped, veinmapped but forgetting to add controls, gameplay and anything of the like, it -will- suck. It's not very reliable to take the observations of some playtesters seriously, as it is possible they're just people pulled off the street and profess "oooh~... shiny~..." NiGHTS was, for the Saturn, a graphical showcase of the time even if some design aspects were simplistic and the level enemies were sprite. It was good not because it was very pretty, but had gameplay, diverse level and even some more hidden aspects which could be overlooked (the A-life system). That, and it's rather fun to kill the poor little Nightopians if you're feeling cross ("squwark~! O_O;;"). F-Zero GX is a current favorite of mine, too. Flashy graphics, but it still keeps the basis of the series at heart... fast racing, interesting tracks and the challenge of mastering the machines. It went so far as to add a customization engine, where you can use bits and pieces you buy to create a completly tailored racer. You may create and apply decals, too. It wasn't in the previous versions, but took nothing away from the game's "soul". It's not about killing the other racers, which is -very- popular, but about just racing. It didn't change the concept, but just added to it, especially in the optional story mode. Just because the graphics are outdated doesn't mean something's bad. People still play Super Mario Brothers. Let's just hope Doom 3 at least tries to keep the heart of Doom, because if it doesn't... it should have been given another title.

Especially with the major "remodeling" it's alienating me at least o_O; I -liked- the classic monsters, like cacos, lost souls, the bulldog demons, and the pain elementals. There's nothing quite like a first run-in with an elemental... and being confused over why it wasn't attacking o_O; turned out too many lost souls were on the map, so he just floated around and being asthmatic. Games don't need to be pretty to be good. Many people don't seem to be able to recognize that.

    Please say this isn't so

... It amuses me how great the massive stupidity of 90% of the populace is. Everyone is stupid about something some of the time, but, it is rather inexcusable to be so idiotic about such a current and relevant subject. Ah well. The human race is doomed... so I'll go back to playing Star Soldier, thanks.

It's not something literal as an unwritten status that can't really be described. Doom is good simply because it is Doom. The music, monsters, level and gameplay just -work-. If you took away or tweaked the aspects, it wouldn't work as well anymore. Thus, I fear Doom 3 will lack such qualities for the sake of being a graphical showcase. Blegh.

I want Sonic Battle to come out, mainly... and more Castlevania for the GBA, dammit. Aria of Sorrow finally got it -right-, even though they pulled many cheap shots for enemy animations (rotating skull dude... yawn), considering many of them were originals and not re-sprites... it's understandable. Mainly, I like portable games more, as I can play them during breaks at work =\. Unless Doom 3 has the same odd "thing" the originals had... I don't think I'd get it. If a game has good physics, kay. Graphics, okay. Music, sure. But, it all has to combine to make it strong and truly great. I'm not sure Doom 3 has that ability, at least to me personally. Many games lack the feel of just being great anymore. They have good concepts, but lack something... Aria of Sorrow was weak in places, too. Nothing's totally perfect.

    Holographic monitors

If I had one, I'd just end up playing older games XD... holographic Sega CD Silpheed, anyone? (Silpheed is actually evil: the disc keeps getting read errors although it's a new previously unopened game. Oookay. 'Tis amusing and nauseating due to the backgrounds... "asteroids! Ahhh~!")

    Doom 3

Even if the posted picture look more grungy, they have an odd, almost molded look to them... I find it unappealing, myself =\... "Help! A plastic demon is eating me!"

I vote Footman... that shirt can't lose, and also he has bangs. Pretty bangs. ... What? It's a nice hairstyle.

Holy crap, the imp-sex history books are WRONG.

I remember that avatar o_o;... back in the old days. ... What? I -was- here then. Just under a different name. As for iconofsinse... XD~! A most fitting end to one the the most adventurous space marines, ever.

    anyone here like animé?

Well, sorcery is good, too (Ruin Explorers), but, realism is also okay. I like You're Under Arrest, too... a pity they weren't widely released. Was there ever a DVD of the TV show?... hell, all I have is the dub VHS, but I -still- like it o_o; *is adamant about having subtitled original language*.

    Poll : Survival Horror. . .

There -was- a SH1 demo years ago in PSM, but, I sold all my demo discs. If I had it, I would've been able to help. Ah well. Technically speaking, I don't believe emulators themeselves are warez. For several 'newer' systems, you don't need ROMS... I myself like the emulate the Sega CD using the real discs and emu. With Genesis games and the like, it isn't feasible, but... If anyone's interested, I can get screenshots of both Maniac Mansion versions. With the Japanese one, forget actually getting a shot -in- the mansion... I couldn't find the comand to to push up the rug and snatch the door key... I also have Sega CD Terminator screenshots =3 it's way better than its Genesis cousin. It also had clips from the movie. Yay for nekkid Reese's bottom!

    anyone here like animé?

Well, I tend to like more... obscure anime. With most things, having it be popular completly ruins it... Gundam Wing was okay, but upon its US release, bastardization and subsequent horde of obsessed ten-year-olds... *sighs*. Anyway, two of my favorites are Ruin Explorers and Patlabor TV. Patlabor is a less-cliche mecha anime. Basically, it takes place in the near future, when contruction equipment has 'evolved' into labors, robots mainly used for bulding things (though military types are developed, too. Yay for more shit to blow people up with o_o;). But, these make it more convenient for criminals, so the patrol labor (Patlabor) is formed. The anime focuses on the life and times of the second division of the patrol. Those included are the (suprisingly) intelligent, odd and normal-looking (no huge breasts popping out, though with standard big-ish eyes) Noa Izumi, the relatively normal and sarcastic Asuma Shinohara (he likes to spook Noa with many odd stories, and got a basket broken over his head for getting a midnight snack), the tall, muscular, farming/gardening Hiromi (well, they need food somehow), and the terribly wife-whipped Shinshi. Then, of course, Ota the complete weapon and gun nut, although unstandard to the 'cliche', he has a strong moral character and is nice to ladies some of the time. There's no huge kalediscopic explosions, no naked women (though, in a clip I saw, the men's bath exploded. Flying nude men!), no unrealistic flying mecha, and no aliens that I know of. In the OAV/OVA (however it's ordered, it doesn't much matter to me), there -was- a seamonster that looked like Hiromi, but, the TV series was in a more 'normal' universe. It's a nice change from standards. Not all english animation is complete spineless drivel, though. I myself like the Secret of NIMH (the original), Watership Down and what I've seen of The Animals of Farthing Wood (both British in origin, if I'm not mistaken). In all those mentioned, characters die, there are rather involved plots, and no stupid songs. I -hate- the songs in most 'cartoon' movies. It's my biggest gripe about the whole genre. In truth, the original All Dogs Go to Heaven is a film I wouldn't let children watch, personally. Drinking, smoking, murder, deception, and countless violence. It's only real downfall is the moronic songs, which rob it of the impact it may have had. Oh well... ... What? I have odd choice in movies and shows. So bloody what?

    Poll : Survival Horror. . .

Did you know? Maniac Mansion was pretty much redone by Lucasarts... the original Japanese one looked... not very good. I think it counts as survival horror, as you can kill off individual characters, or kill everyone by making the house explode =3. And you can microwave the hamster in the PAL and Japanese relelases, I think. Ed will kill you if he catches you... Splatterhouse is good, too. For a weird day, try Splatterhouse for Famicom... you'll never look at it the same way again o_o;... ... Was SH1 ever made into a console version? I know of the arcade one, but...

I like Coke... I just think it has more of that mysterious 'flavor'. Considering they taste nothing like cola nuts, though (which taste like asprin), but grateful, either way =P...

    New Dinosaur species discovered

Why did the CG get worse...? Laziness, likely... as the first was rather popular, they knew they'd make money off of the successors, because people are stupid enough (en masse) to see it anyway. Why spend more money on equipement when America's majority doesn't really notice? ... I liked the toys best, though =3. I only collected the dinosaurs, and they ate my other action figures. Yay. Let the veloceraptor chew on the ewoks!

    Poll : Survival Horror. . .

What about Sweet Home for the Famicom, which was RE's predacessor? I never figured out how to play (I think emulation doesn't work for it), but, supposedly it was. But, I like RE more.. they made some interesting support characters. And I liked Mikhail, the Russian dude in RE3 =3... RE on the GC is nice, too... my boyfriend bought it for me ^-^ he's so sweet...

Cost of upgrades for next year... Worth it?

Considering I'm perfectly happy with my two year old machine, I'd say no... but then again I refuse to leave the wonderful world of Windows 98 SE. Upgrading for, really, one game... but, if you put the equipment to use and actually use its full capabilities, go for it, you nut =P.

    The Ice-Man rules

People were assholes, even way back then XD... The oddly disturbing thing is, nobody noticed this frozen fellow's injuries until now o_O;. With all the publicity it garnered, the original investigation should have been more through than "let's cut open his belly~! FOOD~!"...

    ... Scary?

Admittently, I've been recently around little, the Moogle Cavern also has had discussion about the newest of the Doom legacy. I have two words. Not scary. The enemies just seem... rather non-threatening. The zombie solider shots I've seen don't seem terribly impressive. This isn't because of lack of work, just the design... doesn't do it for me, personally. They look too modelled. Pretty, yes, but realistic? Their only saving grace will be if they explode nice. Even still... I think the original sprites look more imposing in comparison. To each their own, though... (I thought RE1's looked more like they had skin inflamation that zombies, too. I'm harsh. Evil.) ... I swear, if it doesn't have the classic, pink bulldog demons, I won't get it. You can't get rid of them. Yes, they're non-threatening pepto-bismal pink but they have a charm... even Doom 64 bothered to have them (albeit purple, but, meh). Bring on the evil pink demons from Hell!

Sex Slaves Kept in Bunker for 15 Years...

But the system makes it easy for them to slip out, via 'good behavior' and such. It's easy to fake being nice, get out, and start ruining more people's lives. Just chop of the anatomy of the man's groin, and it promises to prevent him fro commiting such vile acts again. As least with his real manhood =\...

Sex Slaves Kept in Bunker for 15 Years...

The thing about rapists and such is, if they get out, they're just going to do it again... Yes, torture and castration wouldn't make anything better for the victims, but, it -would- deter others from such actions, possibly... spare innocents of getting raped by yet other psychos =\.
