    Memorable video game songs

What kind of 16-bit dubstep precursor is this?!

    Memorable video game songs

Are there any video game songs that you find yourself humming randomly during your day? Not necessarily a great song, but one that's so catchy that's stayed with you for decades? I made this compilation for Youtube some years ago, but I never got a discussion going. I'd love to hear your feedback, and hear about the songs that you just can't get out of your head. (I noticed I didn't have any Doom on this list, but if I had to add one, it would be the music from E1M4 or E1M9) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx54q7jiikc&t=10s (Edited to add the list if you don't want to see the video) 10. Chrono Trigger - Yearnings of Wind 9. Kirby's Epic Yarn - Green Greens 8. Megaman 2 - Wily's Castle 7. Silent Hill - Opening Theme 6. Super Castlevania IV - Dance of the Holyman 5. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Hyrule Castle 4. Final Fantasy IV - Overworld Theme 3. SimCity 3000 - Sim Broadway 2. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Call of Magic 1. Chrono Cross - Scars of Time

    Tip for Barons

That's what the 'true pacifist' part of the title means, finishing a level without firing a single shot.

    Tip for Barons

That's pretty awesome. In my case, ever since I started watching decino's channel, I've developed a taste for killing barons with berserker fists.

    Least favourite weapon and why?

The pistol isn't terrible, if the map you're playing doesn't give you lots of ammo. I'll use it to kill imps, former humans and seargants, and even chaingunners if my ammo is low, and using the chaingun could potentially waste ammo. If ammo supply isn't a problem, I never use it, though.
  6. First of all, congratulations on your first level. Be proud of your first step. I liked the atmosphere of the first area. The lighting is put to good use. If it was my map, I would add an outdoor area, even if it's just a window looking out. I would also second ketmar's comment: bring some verticality to your next map, or better yet, modify this one and make it an improved experience. Also, those rectangular hallways between rooms feel so Wolf3d! Spice it up, use some winding halls. Interesting architecture beats perfect texture alignment every day. Anyway, I had fun playing your map. Keep it up :)

    Classic Doom level inconsistencies

If you're on Phobos, wouldn't you be able to see Mars in the sky? Or just space, if the base was on the 'dark side'?

Doom & Doom 2 on the Switch - 1st Impressions

I really wanted Doom and Doom 2 on Switch. I was surprised that nobody ported them officially until now. Frankly I wouldn't mind playing them in this state, but there's no way I'm supporting Bethesda's lazy practices by buying this. Doom has been ported successfully to a myriad of devices. It's been an open source app for many, many years and I'm sure there are a ton of game developers familiar with the code and with Doom porting. I'm guessing they just went ahead and gave a single guy (probably an intern) the task of getting these ports done in a week or something.

    WAD Progression for Skill Improvement

Thanks for the list. I've been playing doom since 1996, but I've never been good at it. I used to play the original IWads, and I never got to finish Plutonia. I'm definitely going to try the wads on your list. Just curious, how do the Master Levels for Doom 2 fare on this list. Are those on par with Doom 2, or are those harder?
