  1. Yeah, I should have mentioned that my map is slaughter-y. Things started off so simple but then I was afflicted by magnum opus syndrome. This also explains the obsessive detailing. I know @Bridgeburner56 makes and plays slaughter maps. Maybe he can test it. I just hope he isn't allergic to anime.

    When I was a kid, I was obsessed with games that had cool looking graphics. Now I'm at the point where I only care about the gameplay. Also this.

    Okay, funny story. I did as @AD_79 and replaced the TEXTURE1 and PNAMES with ones that inherited DOOM2's assets. I then opened the WAD with PRBoom+/GLBoom+ via ZDL and they crashed on startup. I was about to complain on here, but then I realized I opened the wrong file. The file I opened was the original one I uploaded here instead of the one I just modified. I was just being dumb there.   12. This was the project I made for this year's NaNoWadMo. I challenged myself to make at least one map a day for the entirety of October, so I guess you could call this a speedmapping challenge. But then my graphics card decided to fuck up on me and that set me back. It's working normally again for some reason. I don't know why. I think it was because of outdated drivers. I then decided to take up reading because I have a bunch of books that I haven't touched and that made me feel guilty. Later in the month I remembered, "Oh shit, I still need to work on this." So in the end, I only managed to make 20 of the 32 maps I planned to make. If anyone wants me to complete the last 12 maps, let me know. Stylistically, I went for a detailed old school aesthetic. There are a few levels that have a whole bunch of enemies. MAP15 has 2000 on UV, though they're mostly soft hitscan. There are also some maps that are just plain silly, such as the two secret levels. Feel free to play it and tell me what you think.     @Egg Boy I openly admit that MAP27 was sort of an experimental map similar to the ones that Sandy Petersen made. I knew that not everyone would be a fan of it, but I went through with it anyway just to see what the reaction would be. Oh well. It's better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all. I'm glad you liked MAP29. My goal with that one was to make a map where you just plowed through hordes of enemies with the rocket launcher. @Doomkid Well that's strange. I got that MIDI off Tom Mustaine's official website and it worked with Chocolate Doom. I went ahead and replaced it with the MUS file from Perdition's Gate. Hopefully that works.   16. So I just got the latest version of GZDoom and I noticed something strange about it. The background texture in the intermission screen is larger than usual. Compare this to the intermission screen in GLBoom+, which is what it used to look like in GZDoom. From what I can tell, this also affects the border texture of the status bar. How do I change it back to the way it was?

    What's your favourite DOOM source port?

    My source port of choice is GZDoom because I like the way it controls. With PRBoom+/GLBoom+/Eternity, I can never get the mouse sensitivity just right. It's always either too sluggish or way too sensitive. My second favorite source port is Crispy Doom because it controls about as well as GZDoom. It's also my main test port when I'm making my own wads.

    I completed the last few maps a few days ago, but once again, I spaced it off, so I guess I'll post it now before I start on my NaNoWadMo project. It now includes a DEHACKED file which includes the changed map names as well as changed intermission text. Since the wad doesn't have anything resembling a story, I just filled it up with jokes pertaining to the Sonic fandom.   23. Doom City UV / GZDoom This is definitely better than any of Doom 2's city levels, that's for sure. The start is kind of annoying. As soon as you start shooting, all the hitscanners outside will start crowding towards you. I was able to get the Arachnotron to kill some of them for me. Once I got over that hurdle, the rest of the level was pretty easy. All you really need is the super shotgun that you can get from the 7 Eleven. Speaking of which, I love the use of custom textures here. It helps make the map feel like an actual place instead of a bunch of abstract shapes. The secrets were also pretty easy to find, except for the secret soulsphere, which was a pain in the ass. You need to press use on a vending machine at the red brick convenience store and then run all the way to the bank where a panel opened. Overall, this wad was okay. It was impressive for its time and it's still rather fun to play, but it's definitely been surpassed by many other maps since then.
