    GOTTAGOFAST [Now on idgames!]

It's high time I stop procrastinating and post the latest update. Here it is. GOTTAGOFAST_BETA_V02.zip Maps 21 to 26 have been added. I also revamped MAP07. New level descriptions and screenshots:

    Funniest DOOM bugs thread

My favorite Doom bug would be the times when monster corpses start sliding on ledges.

    GOTTAGOFAST [Now on idgames!]

Thanks for the feedback. When it comes to MAP07, I guess I just felt an obligation to use the Dead Simple mechanics. I'm working on making the map feel more like an actual map instead of that same "mancubi then arachnotrons" arena that's been done countless times. I apologize for not responding to you earlier. I was busy working on new maps for the wad. Here's a sneak peek.

Back to Saturn X Episode 3 [WIP]

Those floor textures remind me of Perdition's Gate for some reason.

I want some short levels for chilling.

Scythe is my favorite, although there's a huge spike in difficulty near the end.

Back to 1994: doom1 episode on idgames!!!

I love how, even though you went out of your way to give it that babby's first Doom wad stink, it's still more competently made than most wads from 1994. However, it could use some balancing. I don't like being jumped by groups of barons or other strong enemies in small rooms. Or is the unbalanced combat part of the joke?

It's amazing what you can make from one texture. This level was pretty fun. To be honest, I expected more traps. When I picked up the plasma gun I was all like "Wait, nothing? Is this my birthday?" Ammo was pretty tight, though. I had to punch a few barons to death. Despite this, I was able to UV MAX it with no deaths. (First try, idiot!) My favorite part was that trippy bridge with the nice looking custom sky texture.
  15. The Sky May Be So I decided to play The Sky May Be just to see what the fuss was about. I now regret it. This could best be described as a trollwad before trollwads became popular. Every single aspect of this wad was deliberately designed to piss off the player, from the annoying custom sounds and music to the nonsensical level design to the imps that shoot BFG blasts to the barons that can kill you even if you're in god mode. Not only that, but the plasma gun replacement is atrocious. The range is terrible and your more likely to kill yourself with it than anyone else. My patience ran out very quickly, so I turned on god2 (I played this with GZDoom, by the way) and gritted my teeth through the whole experience. Were there any positive aspects about this wad? Well, I liked the custom sky texture with its colorful stars. I also liked the blue color of the custom SUPPORT2 texture and the look of the COMPBLUE room. I also enjoyed that one room where it looks like you're floating through space. Other than that, The Sky May Be is an exercise in frustration and I never wish to play it again.
  16. Will you do silly wads? If so, then I have a silly wad for you. And yes, it does have co-op.
  17. The only maps from this wad I really liked were the ones by Tom Mustaine. The other levels in the first episode were okay, but they just got worse from there, and things got really bad by episode 3. Administration was way too big and tedious, Habitat had one of the worst sewer sections I had ever seen in a Doom wad, and Mount Pain was actual pain. The experience overall was dull and boring and not fun.

GZDoom OpenGL runs better than GLBoom+ why?

I also noticed that GZDoom handles dark areas better than GLBoom+.

Yeah, I should have added a disclaimer that this has no relation to Cygnus IV by John Bye. You both have valid points. I could have either made the rooms smaller or added more monsters.

Here's a little thing I've been working on for the past month. Cygnus is a mini-episode for limit-removing source ports. For this one, I experimented with making level designs that were a bit more abstract than what I usually make. It also features lot of TEKWALL. It starts off rather easy but gets harder from there. The last two levels are akin to Hell Revealed and Alien Vendetta in terms of difficulty. I hope you enjoy it. Technical info: *IWAD: DOOM2 *Compatibility: Limit-removing *Separate difficulties are implemented *Each map can be pistol started *Testing was done almost exclusively with Crispy Doom, so it should work fine with other limit-removing source ports Special thanks to: *Jimmy for the midis *Mechadon for the sky texture Download link: CYGNUS.rar

That was the exact same part that gave me problems when I was testing it out. Eventually I just said "Fuck it" and I turned it into a limit-removing project. Creating large, open environments is just a force of habit for me. I'll try to include more close quarters combat in any future projects I make.

Anyone working on a Doom Eternal mod?

If you're talking about mods for Doom Eternal, I wonder when someone will make Text to Doom Eternal.
